If you have $500 in your wallet i think that's good amount and for sure you will buy more altcoin. But here's the coin possible you will earn big profit in the future. The waves coin possible to become hundreds dollars price after few months . This coin is look like ethereum the price before is cheap and after that they will increase very high.
I think it will better that you can research of it.Then you can share it in the forum.Probably you will able to decide a good decision. Anyway,investing in the long term,you can buy etherum,litecoin etc.But for the short term investment, you can invest in BCH.I think these will help you and you can earn money as a profit.
The one I can think of is Ethereum and Litecoin. Those two are the safest bet when you want to purchase an altcoin and make some profits. I don't think investing 500 dollars is going to make you a multimillionaire but it will give you nice returns in the future.

Due to the fake news about the china. But looks the pump already over and the price back again to the bottom. Yesterday the price decrease almost 20 percent just in some hours. 
These are the real market tactics which can make you rich faster. If you buy any ALTCOIN and sell it at right time then you will surely get a good output from it. I thing ETHEREUM is the good choice one can have to become ruch in a less time. Jst think wisely before investing and also make a whole research of a altcoin which you want to buy.

If you are looking for long term investment, invest in Etherium, Litecoin and Ripple coin. If you are looking for early benefits you can invest in BCH. Kindly note drop and rise in price of either of the crypto currency could not be expected. Have a proper research of Market and behaviour of altcoins.

I will advice you to buy Ethereum and hold it for a long time because now ethereum will be pumped.. Although Dashcoin has pumped from before but for long term its bitcoin or ethereum in alts.
you can't get rich with only $500 investment. even if you can find 20x you would have $10k. define "rich" first. for me rich means you have at least 1m usd worth of assets. you can't do that wealth with only $500 investment. either find more money to invest or lower your expectations.
If I know which coin that has a bright future that's some mind shattering and make some freedom in an economy in a few years ahead.

Don't get your hopes so high, 500$ is not actually a high amount. If ever you invest on a right coin, it will take you tens of years before you even have a significant amount in your hands. That is if you have the rigjt coins and can hold that long. I suggest you try different coins and trade them continously every time you gain some profit. That will give you larger amount and then if you have significant amount, invest it on eth or btc.
that was not as high amount that can lead you to become a rich person as you think yes at least it takes years before it will but when you started to invest it then you have a chance to make it wider the amount that you invested for.
carefull with investing, i mean there some great ICO with real roadmap have a clear view and real project. some of then just runing ponzi scheme too just make sure you read the whitepaper

In my opinion, there is no particular coin that will make you rich in an instant. All coins has the probability to increases and decreases its value. But if you really want to invest in cryptos, I think the best bet is bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, and some other altcoins out there. You have to do your part, you have to do your own research on what coins is the best to invest. There are many coins out there, all you have to do is to pick the right one, but that's the trick part. Most of them are scams, so you have to choose well. My advise is to invest in more than one coin to minimize your chance of being scammed and maximize your earning potential.
