DIM has been treating me very very good the past few days, its so cheap and the pumps and dumps are pretty profitable. A few of my other favorites are XMR, XRP, STORM, and ETH. I am a daytrader so I do not hold very long although looking at the charts of these in the past few months have done pretty good aside from DIM but that's because its on the way back up alittle.

Personally I have much faith that the following will rise a lot more:
Ethereum, Blue, DeepOnion, Diamond, Litecoin and ZCoin.

I think you need to choose no more than 4 coins for investment. The amount is not very large. If you buy a lot of coins, even if a large increase in some of them, you do not get good money. And so you can increase the amount gradually and buy new coins for new money.

I suggest You DEEP ONION. It is constantly growing since his birth. Take a lokk at it's sites and read the roadmap and withepaper. You can also still join the airdrop.
500 dollars is a suitable budget for newcomer. with this fund, you should choose new cheap coins which are potential to grow up strongly in the short term. my recommend for you are Bitclave, Neumark, and Paragon. You can research to know both they are released from successful ICOs.
Invest in FAST INVEST ICO they already have great investment platform. Their ICO will be a success!
It is hard to say which altcoin will, and I suggest you do your own research instead of asking, you will get 100's of responses with 100 different coin suggestions. 
Safest bet is Bitcoin, followed by Ethereum, followed by Litecoin.

In my view, the altcoins with true potential are the ones with a long term strategy for daily practical uses and not just for speculation.

Without a doubt, many altcoins will be very expensive. The main thing is not to sell them ahead of time as I did before.

I think $500 is a good amount to start. If you think a long term investment, you can think ethereum and bitcoin. If you want to make fast trading, you should follow the markets and catch the pumps.
If you want to invest your money in a lucrative ico, you should try ripple because it offers the best and probably the most promising and best ico in the industry right now, plus its coin value is not high, so you can get a lot of interest
cardano and Verge is going gud i m thinking to invest some in these 2 alts but don't know about u dear, where u gonna invest.
I think the answer to that question is ethereum because ethereum's value is very high and i know that it will make anybody rich, just put in hard work and trust the process, and else will follow
