Airdrops look more like "free lunches" in bounty hunters and many participants, and merchants do so for one purpose: to promote products!

A cryptocurrency airdrops is when a blockchain project distributes free tokens are coins to the crypto community to bring attention to their project. The world about the airdrop and that particular token spreads among the community, raising the awareness, which in turn increase the trading volume of a particular coin when it gets listed on an exchange. These airdrops required you to prove you were the owner of the bitcoin or ethereum at a certain time or snapshot of the blockchain.

During the development of your company, your coin/token is worthless if no one know about it.  One of the marketing strategy is to give away token to attract people.  I participated an airdrops recently at luvdubcoin where all I have to do are a few simple tasks.

I see a lot of ICO's doing AirDrops, or they say AirDrops are finished etc. Can someone give me an exact description and an example of what an AirDrop is exactly? What is the purpose of it during an ICO? Thanks!

This is a type of rewards where you can obtain their token by doing simple tasks. In that case if you do the task you will be rewarded by a small amount of their token. But ask of now the more ICO's are happen the more airdrops are going to be scam.

I think the main purpose of airdrop is trying to distribute a project’s coins fairly to the public and make the name of the projects reach as many people as possible.in some projects, in order to be qualified for airdrop, participants need to wear signature and make certain posts on this forum.

Airdrops are one of the ways that you earn tokens without necessarily buying them. Some projects give a sucstantial part of their tokens as airdrops while some allocate infinitesimal amount

The purpose of airdrops is to promote business, and most of the airdrop targets are aimed at people who understand cryptocurrencies!

Airdrops are like freebies. Given to prospective clients, your marketers, people who can spread the word for you.

My advice to you is not to participate in airdrops. I participated for a couple of months and never received any tokens, just wasted my time..

it means you get free tokens as long as you comply to some of their requirements.
For example, I own TIO token, so when collaborate with other ICOs, they will give free token of the ICO that they collaborate with. All i need to do is to join their telegram group and free tokens will be pouring in my wallet.

It literally means what it is. They "airdrop" their coins/tokens to people who sort of sign up. Most of the time you just need to prove ownership of a bitcoin wallet and they give you a percentage depending on how much BTC you hold on that specific wallet. To prove ownership, you send them a specific amount of BTC or you can sign a message using your wallet[1] instead if you don't want to spend your BTC

If one is required to make a given payment for it, do you still qualify it as airdrop?

Airdrops is a way to get free cryptocurrencies. Where is the catch ? The good thing is — there is really no catch. The company that distributes the coins also has some of it. Nevertheless, there are a few things to consider in order to get to Airdrops Coins.

During the AirDrop, the developers of the project, give free coins for all comers, and in return they are asked to register on their resource.
