I don't know if it's already been mentioned here, but I'm going to mention the three things that I believe are the most important in gambling.
Every player should:

Avoid believing that gambling is a way to make money. It's amazing how there are still people who play for money and not for fun, this is totally wrong!
Stop suppressing your concerns about your gambling habit. If you have already realized that you have problems with gambling, recognize this, share it with a friend or family member... seek help before it becomes too late.
Avoid using credit cards to pay for bets. Many people think that as long as they are playing with their own money, there is no problem. However, you must remember that the credit card is not your money... it is the bank's money that one day you will have to pay and if you are unable to pay, you will incur high interest rates.

Literally the reason why gambling exist is to earn money if not then it's just a game. Rather it's needs to be interpreted that gambling isn't supposed to be a source of income . Also, there's nothing wrong gambling and basing most of it on other prediction as long as they're known to it and has some backing on their prediction which is most likely is. Lastly, what's wrong gambling on a game that many people likes?

Anyways, here's mine: (1) Never gamble what you cannot afford to lose; (2) Avoid chasing loses; (3) Never use gambling as a source of income unless you're a professional but still no; (4) Never gamble if you don't have full control; (5) Never make a decision based of favoritism without sufficient information backing it but again no (applies on sportbets); (6) Never prioritize gambling on your funds.

In gambling every one have what it have to avoid base on the area the person is staying, so therefore I will say gambling is something you suppose calculate well of it before any other things, so therefore you can avoid betting in public with your system so that you will not be distracted in the gambling, sometimes what makes us not to win our gambling should be at results of lack of concentration during the time of predictions

This is about work professionalism. Personally, I really don't like it if someone gambles while working, because when you work in a company or agency you should focus on your work. Gambling can disrupt an employee's work, especially if they experience a terrible defeat, who can guarantee whether they will remain focused. That's why, working time is work, gambling time can only be used for gambling at certain times, not during working hours. Even though it is for entertainment reasons, gambling is not a suitable pastime while working.

This is why it would really be that important that you should really be that sensible towards your actions and on how you do deal up with gambling.

When gambling it's important you don't do certain things regardless of what your reasons may be , this is because gambling isn't guaranteed at any point so going that extra mile may not worth in the long run, it's just better you stick to having fun with gambling and nothing beyond that.

I think I'll only give one advice in here: never chase losses/wins. You are gambling for your entertainment, and not to make money. If you are looking for ways to make money, then work on your skills and do something productive on your time. There's no shortcut to making money, and a lot of beginners choose to take this path because they believe that they can also replicate the luck and success of some of the people that they see on the internet. Unfortunately, that's not the case with gambling. You will win some, but will certainly lose a lot if you continue walking on this path.

Being in a workplace means working under someone else and receiving pay in exchange for work. If gambling at work causes distraction at work, then it is a good decision not to gamble at work. Gambling at work is fine for many people, gambling may not affect their work, but for those whose work is affected by gambling, I think they should stay away from gambling at all times, especially when they are working.

Taking on debt is never a good sign. I never take a loan unless I absolutely need it. There is no question of taking loans for gambling where one does not take loans unless absolutely necessary. I have seen many relationships fail because of money. If I took a loan from someone but could not repay the loan on time, then the relationship between the borrower and the lender will not be good at all. Gambling is completely uncertain where money can be lost in a moment so taking a loan for gambling should never be done.

This is the worst of it all, anyone who takes loan to gamble is just an amateur to me because every expert in gambling is aware of the risk in gambling and are aware of the outcome of taking loans to gamble. Gambling with money you can’t afford should be discouraged by every gambler and loans are money we must pay back so we are not ready to lose them.

Either this board got so deranged that we literally have to remind people to stop gamblnig when working, or this has been a circulating problem in the community since Day 1 that we just addressed lately but either way we shouldn't have to remind people that working and gambling should be done separately, not together or whatever. It's stupid and you would think people would understand it cause hey, it's logical at its core and there's no inherent flaw behind the intent to stop someone from gambling when you're working but no, apparently people really do it like it's normal lol.

Anyway, take gambling as a form of entertainment only, never as a way for you to earn money, once you see it as a money-making machine, you're toast and you'd start doing stupid shit with it.

I do it to a certain extent, nothing more. It is difficult to resist the urge when you are addicted, you will even try to find free time to place bets even though you are busy at rush hour. That's obviously a solution for them, but it will get worse if they borrow and risk it all on gambling after losing all their wages. I will admit that when I play, specially in a traditional based casino, I often drink as it is for free. But when you thought that you can get everything in the casino, you are paying a high price since you are gambling there. Lol.

But in any case, yes, it's one of the worst, because we all know that when you are under the influence, your decision is clouded and so you might be betting too much money when supposedly you're not when you are normal. So it's a very bad combination indeed.

And so with that, "don't drink and gamble".

You might not get it at the very beginning but you really need to figure out and understand the games you are playing - whether you are purely relying on chance (which can be manipulated in the background) or if there is a level of skill that can give you an edge over other players. Most casino games are engineered to give the owner a slight advantage, which means if you play for long enough you might get a few wins along the way but will eventually give all your chips over to them. However a game like poker has a neutral "house", where the casino always gets paid a small cut called rake to host the game, so you if you are able to beat all the other players at the table with skill you can actually walk away with a fairly consistent profit.

When we are talking about factors to avoid while gambling, this should always be considered as one of the top factors, or we should make it number two, as you just did in the OP. Most people gamble too much and already generate an interest on earning from gambling, so therefore they gamble, and anytime they don’t have funds with them, they take loans to gamble, which is a very bad practice for a gambler to do. However, if we don’t have money, we should live the gamble for the day; it’s not for us, but unfortunately, some people don’t see it that they think such games will come as they want. If you lose the money and such gamblers have already promised the owner to get it back after the games finish, I believe it will be a very shameful thing for such gamblers.
So we should always take things gradually, because all these things start gradually and even lead to addiction.
