It now seems that the topic of Bitcoin being replaced no longer needs further discussion. All coins are based on Bitcoin during the development of the encryption industry, although an ecology as powerful as ETH is unlikely to replace Bitcoin.

In my opinion, even if something more techy appears, bitcoin will remain the main store of value in crypto, so no problems with this.

I think for the nearest hundred years, bitcoin does not threaten anything. The replacement of the value standard occurs somewhere in this period. Biton is a measure of the success of new technologies.

I think Ethereum can be like bitcoin. The Ethereum have unique platform that can be used by people. So buy the ethereum while its price now we can afford it.

Chances are few at the moment because even Bitcoin has some weaknesses such as low speed during transactions and other there are no currencies that are competitive enough to compete with Bitcoin due to the demand it has gained but these things can be changed in the future without a doubt but for a currency to become better than Bitcoin it should posses many qualities to fit with the future demand and should cover all the issues that Bitcoin has at the moment

I think that bitcoin will not be replaced by anything simply because bitcoin is not just an asset but an indicator of all cryptocurrencies now because it was the first. IMHO

Bitcoin may not be perfect but it's good enough. Something would have to go very wrong for Bitcoin to be anything other than the main player.
Yeah it is true and many know that and that is why even many investors and traders do trading with other Altcoins at last there main ambition is to buy Bitcoin for the future to make profits because it is very clear that as the first digital asset the popularity and the demand it has gained in the world is immense and for other currencies to achieve it that might take many years even than Bitcoin because during that period it might even be the first global currency in the world

"Soon" would be in the next 1-3 years or so.
One of the biggest dangers for BTC is something more useful coming along and investors switching - a process which could happen extremely fast, once started.
So to all the tech savy people in here - what advantages could other cryptocurrencies bring that will give them a crucial edge over BTC, and how fast could something like that come along?

Bitcoin can be replaced but not soon because still any new or experienced investor or a trader consider Bitcoin as the main currency above all in the cryptocurrency market and I think that is because of the demand that the outside world has given towards Bitcoin and also it's popularity among many so Bitcoin can continue its position in the market for a long time but one day there will be a great currency better than Bitcoin will rise and it is not a surprise because in the technical world those things happen often

Paraventure if there anything precisely to state that Bitcoin resembles gold, and altcoins resemble platinum, oil, or silver. They are advanced resources, not organizations, and they are very significant for various reasons.

We don't see such landmark technologies everyday.
Bitcoin was a giant leap, in advanced technology.
We may wait a while to see something better.
And I don't see the point of being concerned about that, except you're planning on inventing it yourself.

In the crypto world still there is no crypto better than bitcoin so, there is no chance for now but in the future what will going to happen is unpredictable.

It's possible for BTC to be replaced. 1; Another coin with a great potential better than bitcoin can replace bitcoin. 2; BTC itself is a project under blockchain technology, would anybody talk about BTC today if the blockchain is not what it used to be today or probably useless? The answer is no. Now if a better technology comes out tomorrow and better than blockchain, then people will leave blockchain and move to the new technology.

There are projects out there that have worked on the shortcoming of bitcoin such as the Hashgraph. Replacing bitcoin is another issue that can not be done by any coin now or later

according to my observations bitcoin has a system that is good enough, and many people believe it, but the technology of ethereum is far better than bitcoin, if one day cryptocurrency is legal in the world, I am sure many people will choose eth, because eth has things that better, so I think bitcoin needs to make major improvements so that it doesn't happen. If you are asking that is it possible within 3-4 years then I say never but nothing is impossible just like bitcoin grab the market there may be some more coin thats feature is good can replace it.

Right now the bitcoin do not have any other competition because bitcoin is a digital currency.Moreover may be in future new competition got generate but can not compared with the bitcoin as the bitcoin has a great achievements.
