Maybe it can be replaced with ETH or bitcoin cash. I know bitcoin is the number one currency and mother of all alt coins but we should not forget second and third coins which are Eth and bitcoin cash. Both currencies have the huge stamina and they're increasing more than bitcoin since BTC is losing its price I don't have any idea why it dumping but if you look at eth and bitcoin cash they're going up if the things happen of 1 year I can bitcoin not only replace but it can vanish.
Bitcoin cash is more inclined to go in that direction because until now the price is always okay and able to survive as well as bitcoin.
Large amounts of money have already been put into Bitcoin and that's only going to become larger. That makes people more conservative.
It's a slightly different matter when millions of dollars of personal and professional investment from countless sources across the globe have been sunk in. That's an extremely powerful incentive for that money to stay put and push development and adoption.
The chance of that happening is pretty slim. Bitcoin is just that popular and still dominating, so my guess it would take a few more years. I could be wrong, but who knows?
I did not think that it would be possible that bitcoin would be replaced by something better. Bitcoin is already very strong at the top. So it will not be replaced by something else. If anyone replaces bitcoin then I think cryptocurrency will start from 0 again. Then surely there will be no substitute for bitcoin. That's my opinion.
No chances. Bitcoin is the King of all altcoins. Even those, who trades with alts sooner or later are joining the BTC army, so its popularity is only growing. That’s why I don't think that it will be replaced someday.

I guess there will come a time that bitcoins will eventually be replaced by something better. My guess? 6 years from now. There will definitely something better in-store for us in the cryptocurrency investment scene and that will probably be the one to replace bitcoins.

Not seeing the possibility of this happening in future, bitcoin will always remain the top crypto currency in market for many years to come and continue the feat forever...
Everything is possible especially now many altcoins are coming out and the platform is even better. But they need time before they can and many tests they need to go through will be reached. And of course they do not lose Bitcoin because it's the only one decentralized!
I don't think so because they're already trying to do that for 10 years, and as far as we can see now they are not succeed in that process. So probably next three years nothing going to change.
A lot of existing coin that we be not heard their names. So many coins but bitcoin has gain slot of ground and also has won peoples life because of life changes that btc has given them. It will take years before any coin can overtake btc

it is more a matter of which coin can work best alongside bitcoin. Up until this point, it looks like it will be litecoin because of the faster transaction times, and the adoption slowly getting picked up by merchants. This post heavily started around the year 2014, and right now it is 2018, it has been 4 years and the prediction is clearly wrong, a lot of altcurrencies have extreme potential on replacing BTC, but as of now I really can't seem to find the crypto that can replace BTC in the future yet, I'm still trying to see on how consistent and durable these cryptos would be.
