The best is without doubt Ethereum. It is the tether to which a lot of altcoins are based. Ethereum classic is also good.
Ripple, Electroneum, Privcy...all fantastic prospects.
You should be a little careful though, there is a lot of FUD surrounding long term investments and I dont think anybody knows which way the markets will swing. One thing for sure is that cryptocurrency is here to stay!

I agree with you ethereum is the best potential coins among all altcoins. This is my first bet to invest as good altcoins to hold long term. The current price for eth is down so best to have this coin.

If you can afford to buy bitcoin, then bitcoin is the best among them for a long term hodl. If not, ethereum is the best choice for altcoins together with bitcoin cash, zec and eos.
