For me i'm gonna choose the top 10 in coinmarket cap because i believe their popularity to the investors that is why their prices was easier to high in the market but before you pick that altcoins be sure research it first to avoid lossing your capital.

Some people (crypto specialists even) suppose that in 5 years, many tokens, will simply die. Only the altcoins which take the first 100 places can survive. Choose some promising tokens from this list.

For me, altcoins that are good for the long term are of course ethereum, because I believe ethereum has good potential and no doubt, but of course besides ethereum there is also an altcoin that is good for long-term investment

first study coinmarketcap then select some top altcoins..but i think these coins are good for long term ,1.Ethereum,2.xrp,3.neo,4.litecoin,5.xlm.6.dash. 7.iota etc.but this is my just suggestion but last decision is yours.good luck

Spread it out. Go for the super low caps that are obviously not scams and also have a close but careful look at all the recent ICO. They are basically all trading at a massive discount to ICO price.
