Historically those would be the countries that rarely attacked anyone and tried to stay away from conflicts. There are countries like The Czech Republic and former Czechoslovakia that just weren't aggressive compared to other countries. Poland also tried only to defend its borders and was attacked from all sides in 18th and 20th century.
Nowadays you just don't know when and where a conflict will start, but we are living in the longest era of peace in history. It's a blessing.

My country ranks at 137 but I am glad that I am born here and not in countries like Syria or Iraq or Afghanistan where people live in fear.

As soon as I saw the question, Switzerland came to my mind. I lived there for 3 years for school. It was very peaceful and clean. My friends and I, walked outside at night, we didn't feel dangerous. But we still be cautious. Because it was too peaceful, sometimes it was boring too. lol
i think switzerland really is the most peaceful country. i dreamt to travel and reach that place someday

Small countries tend to be safer and cleaner. I guess their size manages that more easily.

I've been to Luxembourg. That seems a very peaceful country.

Can't imagine there's much crime there...well, not the kind that causes physical harm to anyone Wink

Do you know the reason why Luxembourg is more peaceful when compared to the other western European nations? Most of the immigrant blue collar workers in Luxembourg are from Luxembourg, with small numbers from Eastern European nations such as Poland, Russia and Ukraine. In the other western nations, the majority of such workers are from the Muslim nations.

The war on drugs there have produced 1000's of murders, killing junkies and small time dealers. It's all in the news.

For me, I don't think that there is still a peaceful country because of what happening in the whole world. In all country, there is a crime that is happening in everyday. Especially in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, South Sudan, and Yemen where you can found no peace because of the crimes. But according to researchers, even there is a low and high crime rate in some country they give the most peaceful country which are Iceland, New Zealand, Portugal, Austria, and Denmark. We  can achieved a peaceful country if we help each other to avoid problems.
