Bitcoin is the first crypto currency and rest all other crypto currencies are a upgraded version of bitcoin and blockchain network, the second biggest crypto currency is ethereum network more than any other crypto currency, there is high potential for ethereum to skyrocket in the near future, ethereum transactions are more faster than bitcoins. Big corporations have started implementing and using ethereum network which can increase the value of ethereum. Ethereum has the second largest market cap of $ 41.4 billion which is the top crypto currency after bitcoin technology.
Today there are many coins but I think that none of the alternative crypto currencies is strong enough to replace Bitcoin. Bitcoin is historically the first and best crypto currency. But Etherium has a lot of potential to get close to Bitcoin. Also Litecoin has a great future, I think. It was often referred to as 'silver to Bitcoin's gold.' Investing in these crypto currencies is a good solution. They will become even more popular and more expensive in the future except that they will not be able to overtake Bitcoin.
base on my research the coin that has a potential is ONION i think one of this day the price of it will pump it has an active community too, try to visit their community i know that you will support it also, it is globally competitive and base on my research it has a anonymous and secure transaction they use a TOR in every transaction so it cannot be hack unlike others.

No. I believe that there is no coin that will overcome bitcoin today. Because based on how I see bitcoin today is that it is very strong in a way thay its usage today for the people are quiet very important. Bitcoin serves a support specially in financial for those people who doesn't have any jobs. And bitcoin actually the leading digital currency today.

The next big thing as regards the altcoins I would love to have increase in its value relative to bitcoin is the ethereum. The ethereum has its popularity as much as the bitcoins but the price of bitcoin today is 35× that of ethereum! Ethereum has some real relevance in the world of Cryptocurrency and I believe it should have gotten more relevance with price relativity. There is currently an issue with the ethereum transactions and I hope it will grow in price value after the issue has been resolved.
We have seen sharp rise of IOTA in recent weeks. It could be IOTA or NEO, but Litecoin and Ethereum have also started to rise. These two coins also have very good prospect.
The fact that IOTA decided to rise to the present 5th position with the high bull run over night does not mean it would end up next to bitcoin. The truth is no one knows and only time can tell. There are so many coins out there with the devs trying to push them hard enough to gain relevance. It is a tough world and it is more like survival of the fittest, so only the persistent ones will last.The good thing going for bitcoin right now is that the first mover advantage will always be there but still, no one is even in that position to know what would become of bitcoin in the future, but any improvement any coin brings, bitcoin can just easily improve its own as well and still go ahead as the well established currency and same goes for other currencies below it.

For now, I can't imagine some tokens or coins tgat will likely to replace bitcoin because we know how bitcoin today. Bitcoin is somehow very progressive in a sens that there are many people that continuously like to earn here and the number of population users are somehow increasong repidly each day.

if bitcoin is not worth it may be a lot of altcoin who will race to be the best and can be used for all payments. maybe i will choose ETH if BTC collapsed.
ETH is close to reality to be the next bitcoin. Being next to Bitcoin in the crypto, ETH has played a major role in the ERC-20 compliant tokens used by majority of ICOs today. Moreover, ETH have shown also it's price hike lately giving ETh a value of $582 as of this writing.
I don't think there will be a next bitcoin.
He isn't asking if there's going to be next bitcoin, he's asking about a coin that could take the 2nd place and overthrow ethereum. I think the closest coin that could do so is Litecoin and maybe Monero.
LiteCoin is rising fast now. It's based on Bitcoin but it has a bigger supply, a different Proof-of-Work algorithm and a shorter block time. It benefits from the Bitcoin code development, but it's not on the futures market yet. That could either be good or bad, depending on the effect the futures market has on Bitcoin.
I think ethereum is the next big thing among all other alternative coins. It's making waves in the market and have been circulating for quite a long time. It have proven its stability in the cryptoworld, and not like other altcoins that hits and then suddenly out i n the market. Its also wise to invest in ethereum, its muly next top choice 2nd to bitcoin.

I don't think that any other coin can match or ever come close to bitcoin it terms of price and popularity . The growth rate of bitcoin is so high that i fear any other coin will be able to match its benchmark. I believe that if a coin created due to a fork can replace bitcoin it should do it from the first day it appered and not after a long time.

Its given. Eth has always been the one after bitcoin in all discussions with its features, that for me, better than btc. Bitcoin cash has had a decent acceptance so some coins born out of forks do have a good chance as well of breaking out and challenging btc. Bch did that for a brief while already

Don't think any coin will be the next btc. It was the first, a pioneer of the technology, and it will remain like that. But I bet on Ethereum, as it has really great potential
I think there will be no comparison with bitcoin of other altcoin because they are non stable coin and bitcoin has reached a very high level in the crypto industry and no one will over come it. The graph of bitcoin is a ever increasing and any one can earn a huge profit from it.
Bitcoin was the best currency from the very start due to its unlimited properties and benefits and it had maintained its position till now. I think in the present time we can’t compare any currency with bitcoin because it is far better than any type of other currency. Now it depend on the other currencies that what is their position and what is their goal and weather would they maintain themselves or not but in the present time bitcoin is the best in all.
I can't see any coin that is equivalent to bitcoin or any cryptocurrency that is the next bitcoin in the future because bitcoin is bitcoin and there is no coin that can replace bitcoin because of its great things that its have like the community and the technology and in my own opinion, if bitcoin has a coin that is equal to bitcoin then it will be so close to bitcoin but until now, bitcoin is still the number 1.
