if it's leading me to become uncontrollably addicted to it, that can make me stop it. But what you also need to understand is that if you've been into gambling for a long time, you can't just decide to stop gambling and just stop it like that, it has to be a gradual process where you reduce how frequent you gamble, isolate from sources that will bring you back to the habit and might sometimes require that you talk to a friend about the habit.

But if you are the type that does responsible gambling, it won't be necessary to stop it cause the more you do it, the more experienced you become and some  moment win either win or lose out on a game and this will guide you for future prediction purposes.

Normally, gambling is fun for many gamblers. Despite that, some people only gamble for the sake of winning money, but at the same time, they enjoy the fun that comes along with it. It's always difficult to stop something that you have become used to doing regularly, but just like you said, it can take time. But what I think can shift one's attention away from gambling is either a job or business, or maybe any career that the gambler is aware to be a better source of income for them. For me, I don't gamble as often as before, and the reason is because of my other day-to-day activities. Business is so demanding, just like my job, and I have to make some posts on this forum.

Yeah, there are gamblers who play for fun and to be entertained, and there are to win money. But this is based on my experienced, I suddenly stop gambling when many years ago, I suddenly lost my job and I don't have enough money to save in the bank to survived. So obviously, I will have to prioritized things with the little money I got in my pocket that time.

So I just quit gambling because of that circumstances, and then I try to apply as soon as I can to have money so that I can bring food in the table for my family. That is the only thing in my mind that time. It was a learning experienced for me though. When I was able to get back and start working, I suddenly lose my enthusiasm to play or at least minimized the budget for my gambling activities.

I know that many people try to stop gambling or reduce the intensity of their gambling because of several factors such as running out of money, being scolded by their wife, being scolded by their parents, or piling up debts. Irresponsible gambling will make us have bad conditions. I don't hope we will experience something like that because after all gambling is fun and full of challenges

But let's imagine, what kind of conditions might make you stop gambling?

It's hard to say because I've never experienced it and I also know that it's very difficult to stop being addicted to gambling when you're in that situation. Gambling is really just entertainment for me, I don't gamble often so I'm not too addicted to gambling.

But I think that maybe the only thing that will stop me is that I will be piled up with a lot of debt. This is what can stop me from being addicted to gambling, because I'm used to being reprimanded by my parents and my girlfriend. I also know that once you are addicted to gambling you can find a way to gamble.

But let's imagine, what kind of conditions might make you stop gambling?
I don't have to imagine because I quit gambling a long time ago. First rule of gambling is to gamble with what you can afford to lose. Given some situation and unexpected events happening in my life led to me to a place where I can afford to have entertainment with money. Especially gambling. It is not a way of earning money and you can't change your fate using your skills. It happens based on your luck. So I am not willing to lose something where my luck is in the thing determining it.

There are other things that I have faced too. That includes stress anxiety depression. I have lost so much that I was left with nothing and you can say that I was addicted to it. In order to keep myself safe and people around me safe too, I had to quit gambling. The journey wasn't as expected. Maybe I will come back or maybe I won't. Only the future can tell the story. Let's see what happens.
Its always been the primary rule on which you should really be that using the amount or gamble on the money that you can afford to lose.Never ever make yourself
do believe that money making in gambling is easy because this kind of motive in mind would really be just simply making you  desperate person. Its never been that
suggestable on molding up that kind of intent in mind because once you do have this kind of thinking or views then most likely you would really be that
ending up on getting addicted so easily. As for stopping gambling then it would really be entirely depending on you because you are the ones who do have that
overall control towards yourself.

I gamble primarily to make money even though I have other things I'm also working on to make money. When I have a big business such that my income will be as big as the money I target to make from gambling, I will not need to continue gambling as that might be like a waste of time or total distraction. Some people might say gambling is fun, I don't share in that philosophy, gambling is purely business and not for fun. There are other ways of catching fun.

Therefore, the only way I will stop gambling is if I become very rich or get to a point where money is no longer something to be worried about.
Your comment alone remind me of what I was thinking some days back, sometimes I imagine that a lot of gamblers gamble because of money and not only for the fun, however, it might be that more than half of gamblers are gambling for profit making and not fun, I too gamble for money, if I want to have fun I really know were I can get a lot.
I agree with you, when you said gambling is business, yes it is true, if gambling is not a business then gamblers shouldn't have been paying for it, although everyone might be thinking it differently but I don't gamble for fun,,, sometimes I tried to but it is hard.

We should be able to stop gambling when we have experienced a losing streak, but the problem is it is not as easy as imagined because there are still many gamblers who continue gambling even though they have lost in a row. They don't realize that it is a sign for them to stop gambling immediately but instead become increasingly curious about the losses they have experienced. They want to recover their losses by continuing to gamble instead of deciding to stop gambling, which will result in another loss for them. We should try to stop gambling after a losing streak so that we can save the remaining money in our gambling account and use the money to gamble another day. It will also maintain the balance in the allocation of gambling funds that we have made so that we don't deposit excessive money just to gamble.

You love a woman and you like her to be your lifetime partner. It's a lifetime commitment and she doesn't like your gambling habit, you can talk to her to spare that because before you even met her, you're already one.

But are you willing to do that?

IMHO, I'd do that but I am past that situation so it's no longer a thing for me. Financial wise, it's bad to gamble when you have got nothing and that's the condition I guess for me that I'll stop indefinitely.
But what if gambling become a main reason of your failed relationship? are you still willing not to stop just because you are into gambling even before you met her? I don't think so. If you have a good intention and you want to have a healthy relationship with good financial stability with your partner in the future, It's better to stay away on the things that may possibly ruin it.
That's why you can talk about it if you are not yet willing to give it up.

Things can be solved by talking and with communication and people tend to forget that simple thing because it's all about ego that they're dependent on.

So based on your reply, seems like you'd rather to choose your vices than your partners opinion for your own good.
Nah, you have to re-read and understand what I am saying. And that's why there's the question I have left.

A gambler can stop his gambling for various reasons. It may be due to the pressure of his family or it may be due to his financial system. But a gambler may stop his gambling from any reason. But overall the most common issue is uncontrolled gambling. When a gambler engages in uncontrolled gambling, he can certainly face various problems. Especially if his life partner plays a negative role. In the case of those who are not yet married, they stop their gambling activities due to various restrictions of their parents. But as no one knows about my gambling activities, I have not faced any such problem. However, when my bankroll is depleted in gambling, I have to stay away from gambling temporarily for financial reasons. Every gambler has different conditions to stop their gambling activities.

But let's imagine, what kind of conditions might make you stop gambling?

Quite an interesting question... And so far I have no plan when I will stop my gambling activities. However, if in the condition that I have to end my gambling activities, then I will immediately end the activity.

And maybe I will stop at a time when my economy and personal finances start to become unstable and deteriorate. I would quit the activity, because gambling is not an activity that can be expected to improve my economic and financial situation.

When someone is experiencing economic and financial problems, sometimes it can affect emotions to become uncontrollable. And playing gambling in a bad emotional state, then this will only result in this gambling activity becoming a detrimental activity. so in conditions like this, I would prefer to end the gambling activity and focus on an effort made to be able to restore my personal economy and finance back to stability.

Underestimate- nothing
It's easy, if I have a family and a kid to raise and fund his/her education and I am not making a lot of money when that time comes then I would definitely stop gambling altogether, helps with the household finances and many other things could've been used for that money anyways. Another condition I can think of is when I have contracted a disease that will require me to have a medical maintenance to check on the symptoms or slowly treat the said disease, like heart disease or kidney disease, this diseases that I've mentioned are definitely going to make anyone stop gambling. There's probably other conditions out there but these two are the conditions that would definitely make me stop gambling.
You're attempting to use gambling as a means of supporting your income, which is something I find objectionable because it encourages you to take on greater risks, which can result in addictions, and you and your family may suffer as a result. Additionally, if you bet a significant sum of money and lose, it will undoubtedly have an impact on you. and from what I have read you must have had quite a number of wins. aside does health conditions it will get to a point where you would have lost too many games I don't think the person needs a prophet to tell them that gambling is not the way they are taking it and if you look at it the problem is always from the gamblers they are too greedy.

There will be nothing to prevent you from continuing to practice gambling if it does not harm the person's financial stability. I think the question would be wiser if we referred to addiction. Meaning the question would be “What conditions might cause you to recover from gambling addiction”.
I believe that changing the circumstances surrounding the person, in addition to providing psychological support from the family or close circle, is what can help the gambling addict get past the beginning stage of stopping gambling, since the beginning period is the most difficult stage in the recovery process, given that the intense practice of gambling falls within the framework of mental illness or what is called “behavioral addiction”. The recovery period is supposed to include a psychological rehabilitation phase that includes activities and practices that the patient performs to help him avoid thoughts that incite him to return to playing.

If the financial condition is not good then a person can never gamble. No matter how much he gambles it will never become possible. Those who have enough knowledge about gambling will never risk spending money. Even if the game is fun, it will be difficult to do everything if it goes wrong. Also, if family members put any conditions under pressure then many people will be forced to leave.

But let's imagine, what kind of conditions might make you stop gambling?

This is very simple and I believe everyone will agree that we will stop gambling immediately if we lose too big time that earned hard for so many years. I believe this scenario is the only way that will make me stop since I’m just playing so casual which literally almost very hard for some outside factor in my life to become a trigger to my gambling activity stop.

The other setup is when I don’t earn enough from my job that males me financially incapable on gambling. In general, anything that will be related to my finances.

From those listed here I am smart enough to stop when money ends.If anyone else continues after that, then all sort of problems will pile out especially the piling up of debts which can lead to depression and even worse things like suicide. As long as we play with money that we can afford to lose nothing bad will happen and by doing so we will continue to have fun while playing our favorite games in the casino.

For me this is the main condition at which everyone who consider themselves responsible enough should stop immediately.

This is simple. Gambling should be done at ease, not to be force, not to make me get anxious when playing or make me sad when I lose, I should not feel remorseful over a loss but to be able to move on and make corrections asap where necessary, I should be able to deposit money from my pocket and not go about to borrow funds, u should be able to play when I feel and not be addicted all the time. That's how gambling should be but this is theoretical, many don't do this.

I will stop gambling if I notice some of these signs:

  • I will stop gambling when it affects my relationship with others, either finance or romantic or attention towards my partner and friends, gambling must not affect how I related with people. When it does, I will quit quietly without thinking twice about it
  • If gambling result to health condition, like having too much anxiety over losses everytime can result to high blood pressure and hypertension, I will give gambling good bye.
  • When gambling affect my pocket, to the extent where I will be broke. I will quit. It's only when I'm physically fit that I can fund gambling.

I can see few replies saying if they keep losing for a long period of time they will stop gambling, but there are other thing that's most important to me and should be very important to people too.

The reason why I keep gambling is not because I only want to make money, it's because I can afford to lose money for few gains if they ever come, so assuming I lost my job today, you think I will go gambling the next day? Never, it can never happen, because it's my job that's bringing in good amount of money monthly.

For me to take risks with gambling, trading and investment, my life must be in shape first, get a job and start making money, then I will be able to afford taking some risks, if no way to make money right now gambling is not the solution, remember that gambling is good at taking money away from you, now imagine that all you have as a solution when no new money is coming in is gambling, you will regret your decision.

There you have it, it makes no sense to take risks when there is no income coming from somewhere else for you, how are you going to feel when you lose money? Those who have no jobs are not fit to take any risk in investment and in gambling.

Each person would really be that different when it comes to their perception and impression towards gambling on which there are ones who could really be able to control themselves on what are the things that they should really gonna do with gambling and there are ones who do really fail on doing so. It is really just that a matter of perception on things because if you do find yourself not to be able to control when it comes to your gambling approach then most likely you would really be messing up with this. Conditions? Why would be needing some conditions if you do able to stop completely if you wanted to?
If you could be able to stop gambling immediate without any conditions then this do really shows or mean that gambling cant be able to control you.

Gambling is never been bad as long you do make yourself that responsible towards your actions on which you wont really be making yourself putting in harm just because of the wrong decisions that you have done.
Most of the time on which people do really get fall into the pit of addiction just because they cant really be able to control themselves. Each person does have that kind of different level of
tolerance when it comes to gambling. If you do really meant on trying out to play gambling for the sake of entertainment then it would be your choice.

Honestly, I have not thought of any condition that will make me decide to quit gambling, because there were times that I gave up gambling voluntarily for many reasons like losing huge, getting a job that needed long hours, setting up a business like right now this coming holiday season our family had a seasonal business every holiday so I will allocate more of my time on this business and from posting here so I can only play twice or thrice a week.

Gambling is not my bread and butter and it's not a platform I rely on when I want to be entertained but I'm still attracted to many forms of gambling, when you're a gambler, you are a gambler anytime and any way you want to be.

Irresponsible gambling will make us have bad conditions. I don't hope we will experience something like that because after all gambling is fun and full of challenges

But let's imagine, what kind of conditions might make you stop gambling?
I can only think of three conditions as to why a gambler would stop gambling. The first condition would be the amount of losses, if someone who's lost a lot will tend to either stop gambling or try to find ways to fund their gambling activities which it could get them in a much worse situation where they could get into a spiral of debt. The second condition would be winning such a significant amount which could be life-changing such as winning a jackpot on a lotto, since they've already won such an amount it may lead them to halt their gambling activities and continue with other things as they already have the money to do so. The last condition would be having no time or being busy with other things that they permanently remove gambling as a part of their daily activity such as focusing on work, business or even with their physical or mental health.

But still, even with these three conditions which are losses, winnings, and time management, it will still vary depending on the gambler themselves as if they don't intend to stop gambling, nothing really can stop them.
