actually, game is the best way to promote bitcoin or other crypto. if some game platform accept payment use bitcoin or crypto, im sure that game will be crowded. for example like gambling, many people lose and gain profit, and its really popular until now. and its more interesting if some game (rpg, or anything) use this method. it will more excited and a lot of poeple may join on crypto

For me, the bitcoin and the gaming industry have a massive factor if it comes to online gambling using cryptos. But if we are talking about the well-known gaming industry, they much focus and partnering on the huge computer companies so that games will buy new computer rigs so they can play smoothly, with maximum effects, etc. But speak off accepting bitcoin as a currency. Some companies accept cryptos like regular currency, as some ppl said, so I think that there still a possibility that the gaming industry uses any technology that relates to cryptos, but not that high for this moment. Bitcoin was built around a poker game. When it was released it was orignally released with a version of Texas Hold em. I believe it will be added to more games in years to come. The only issue is when the price of bitcoin skyrockets. The fees go up as well. Who wants to spend high fees to transfer Bitcoin just to play a game? Not to mention that when the Bitcoin blockchain gets backed up you could wait hours for a transaction to go through.  I think blockchain is great for gaming but I do not think that bitcoins blockchain is the best for it. I like TRX its fast and with the smart contracts and tronlink you can be gaming in 30-45 seconds!

I saw it here today in bitcointalk it's like Agar.io Maybe let's take a look at this one. It is a rewarding game for its players. Their concept is great because they adopt such popular games and apps.

PS. I do not endorse it, and I am not a part of it. I only said this for our knowledge

Hey guys, I was wondering about Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptos in general and their relation to the games industry

We all know, people at my age (31 years) growed up playing games, surfing the internet and they are  very close to technology in general

Games always have put new technologies to evolving the market, like: Internet to play multiplayer games, virtual reality and 3d to have a deeper experience, photorealism, payment inside app/game and etc

But until now, games industry didn't use any new technology related to cryptos

Do you think they will use?
And if yes, how they can use BTC, blockchain and cryptos in general?

The only and most obvious for me is use cryptos to pay games, in steam, psn, xbox live and etc, but I'd like to see your ideas guys
Yeah it is hard to spot a game service company or literally a game that accept any form of cryptocurrencies. However, I have read an online article that there's a game service company which is Steam have once used to accept Bitcoin but due to high fees and volatility of crypto they terminate this kind of method. According to Steam they might still reconsider of bringing back this payment method if Bitcoin becomes more stable.
As of now the market is recovering I hope it will continue until it reaches high value again just like what happened last 2017 it actually reaches twenty thousand dollars, it is considered golden era because almost all of the ICO gone successful because there are actually lots of investors that time. In terms of games, there are actually online games that are accepting bitcoin as their payment when you want to buy some item. It is famous as of now, as far as I know Dota is accepting that. I dont know any other games that are accepting bitcoin as payment when buying items. There are other online games like gambling, it is requiring bitcoin sometime as your bet.

Gaming industry are trying to adopt bitcoin as another mode of payment and i think Steam has already done this before by adding bitcoin as additional payment platform in 2017 but in late 2017 they already removed it due to the reason of high transaction fees and volatility of it and that time was the blocksize debate was very hot topic that time. Anyway i think that bitcoin and gaming industry don't stir very well unlike in gambling cause not all players were pay to win...

Cryptocurrenty was actually has been popular because of games, many people has been into crypto because they are using Bitcoin and other altcoins as way for them to earn thru games, and now adoption arises and even casino are adopting it, as they think it can attract more users, as well as advantage for Bitcoin too as it is widely used in different ways.

If we talk about the gambling industry then surely Bitcoin would click them together very well since websites who are involved in gambling don’t ask too much information even if you win and on top of that there are no taxes to be paid which would be deducted to your prize.

Though personally, I think that the gaming industry would soon accept Bitcoin since the issues in the past had already settled.
What game industries kind with bitcoin and altcoin? if using gambling game platform I think is not good for bitcoin with many investors are Moslem, if using with gaming platform to adoption of bitcoin will have positive side for bitcoin come to higher price. Never use gambling gaming site to adopt with bitcoin because have investor not agree with gambling gaming project.

I would say that Bitcoin and gaming industry are kind of naturaly connected. Industry that highly uses new technologies is naturaly oriented to cryptocurrencies and gamers like to use it both for gaming purposes or in real life. Gaming industry is also opportunity to promote Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Yes and actually the global gaming industry is still and rapidly continuously growing so fast, especially now that kids and even 30+ years old are doing mobile games, and the market for this gaming industry has reached a revenue of over 130 Billion $ last year. So, if this will be connected towards each other then, crypto will be widely used, and will have a big market and big impact when it comes to demand.

if the game industry, make games made must have potential and not boring. if the game industry and bitcoin technology are connected I think it would be good especially if the game made can be played by all people

There are gaming platforms out there that are based in blockchain technology and apart from that, there are gaming platforms that do not run in blockchain technology but their betting currency is bitcoin, just take a look at the signatures of most high ranking members in this forum and you would see them wearing signatures of online casinos, mossy of those casinos accept BTC payments and as for those that run in the blockchain, it's usually Altcoins like EOS that it's blockchain is mostly used for decentralised apps especially those of the gaming variety.

Gaming companies are getting bigger also the gaming community I don't think they should use Blockchain or bitcoin as one of their assets or how could they benefits in using bitcoin or cryptocurrency but it my opinion i think using cryptocurrency since they were developers imagine if you could buy a coin in the game using your bitcoin easily, in my opinion, it will be a great assets and adjust for the gaming community and developer to use bitcoin as one of the payments and obviously they could benefit in this kind of transactions also cryptocurrency community is getting bigger so they should have a lot of use of this method.

I think the best for crypto to be part of the game industry is to create a game where crypto would be the currency of the game.
Just imagine playing a similar game like Ragnarok but the currency would be crypto and it would be real money and your loots would also be crypto but if you die or a player kill you ,
You would lose some crypto that would go to the killer and to the game.

I find it really, really strange how gaming has such a blind spot when it comes to crypto. You'd think they'd be running towards it but the silence is deafening.
I agree, but it seems that a ton of businesses have an aversion to cryptocurrencies.  If they didn't, we'd be able to buy stuff on amazon with bitcoin.  In fact, I've heard rumors about that for at least a couple of years now but it's never become a reality.

Steam was accepting bitcoin for a while, but they stopped if I remember right.  I'm not sure why that was, but I would imagine it was because of a lack of people using that option.  Anyway, I think bitcoin (or any crypto) is underutilized in the gaming industry.  There are so many in game purchases that could be made using bitcoin, and I would think gamers would love this.

Maybe as the newer generation progresses they'll eventually boost adoption, but I don't know.  Bitcoin is in kind of a dead period as far as adoption goes.  I'm hoping it will pick up eventually.

That's an epic combination, I think. Both have unique niches with large communities, some games also use digital money to buy and upgrade items. If that can be changed with cryptocurrency it will certainly be more interesting. We all also know that this is starting to be developed, adopting blockchain really provides many benefits. So many projects based on games use blockchain.

Applying blockchain to gaming as an industry is in no way beneficial, or even remotely needed. There is absolutely no problem being solved by this, in practice all this will allow for is in-game microtransactions to be paid in tokens, and over-saturation of a niche vertical market of independence and mobile gambling games.Microtransactions, rewarded game play, and optional ads are a natural combo. The game data does not need to be stored on the blockchain to benefit from the advantages of crypto.

As an example paypal won't process micro transactions at all. With crypto you can have near instant payments, no transaction cost, and wallet authentication. If people want to collect tokens or store game data on the block chain, I can appreciate that approach. Just as there are a variety of games and gamers, there will be a variety of solutions used in development.
I think if you look at both bitcoin and the blockchain industry are relatively small at the moment that is why the game industry is not focusing on either of them. But I believe in-time when the bitcoin and blockchain industry has matured enough the gaming industry has no choice but to implement both in the future.
