Trading platforms in Japan may stop working with coins Dash, Monero and Zcash because of the fact that these coins are used for money laundering and other illegal activities. Think about it before investing.
Zec has good progress like The zk-STARK paper has been published: "Scalable, transparent, and post-quantum secure computational integrity" https://eprint.iacr.org/2018/046 co-authored by Zcash scientist, Eli Ben-Sasson. Congrats to Eli and co-authors! I don't know how much of you who follow the the progress of zec but i think zec is one of the best alternative coins, it is always updated by the developer and community.
i really don't know much about zec whether mining or something else but the thing i knew that it is making a lot of traction among the crypto community so i think it is a good investment.
No real use for it beyond Bitcoin exchanges. I wouldn't be in the city trying to get a store to use ZEC by any chance.
One of my coins in the top for production! look at the DASH, it was also mined very much and what prices it has grown! with Zcash will be the same!

I do not think that mining of ZEC is as lucrative as it used to be earlier. With the rising popularity the of ZEC its mining difficulty has been increasing. For me instead of mining I would instead directly buy this one.

Zcash is also showing its movement. As most of cryptocurrencies it has started running after it was walking. I know guys who mine this currency and get profit, but they use cool hardware.

We'll wait till it pumps and I will sell everything I have. Don't want to hold it anymore.
I am a long term investor of ZEC, i believe its technology and may not like other ico pump at once, but i think it will pump sooner or later. 
Zec is the first project wich has invented and implemented zero knowledge protocol at their network. I guess it's very good pick for mid- and long-term HODL. BTW take a look at ZEN. It costs much less but it has huge potential to grow up to ZEC cap.

I think it is not for long-term Investment. You should select the top 10 coins which is listed in cryptocurrency.

ZEC is unfair project, because miners will donate 20% of mining coins to the development team, which is unfair to me, I will us Monero for anonymous transactions.
