Immediately will be chaos. And then society is quietly cleansed from biodegradable waste.

I think it would make society worse because then many people would become influenced and addicted to hard drugs, making society not only unpleasant, but dangerous

well definitely society's not going to get better nor would it remain the same. drugs have such a huge effect on people specially drugs that affect people's well being such as cocaine, heroine, meth and the likes. there's a reason why these drugs are illegal. for one, i think crime would boom in most locations. people who are in these types of drugs become unaware of what they are doing. these drugs are very dangerous to be easily accessible to people.

Yes it is very dangerous for innocent people as these drug users could  buy  drugs just like an ordinary medicines.  The government would be having a headache if ever prohibited drugs became legal.  Rampant killing of innocent lives like what happens now.  It is just easy to kill if you are hallucinating.  They said you see someone looks like a devil that you would kill it and after you killed the devil you will see that it is your family, a friend, or even a child.

exactly so it's really scary to imagine. though there are some illegal drugs right now that i think we should be open to for studying for medicinal purposes, like cannabis for example. although for the meantime having all types of drugs available for all people would be very dangerous for everyone

after the bust of silk root there will be absolutely increase in the online marketing of drugs . this will surely leads to the increase of online sell if drugs became legalized to sell  . i think there should be also a control of online selling retardation plan by the government of these countries .

While Silk Road was operating, the number of drug overdose deaths went down in many western nations. Once it was closed down by the FBI, this number rose once again. Good quality stuff was available on Silk Road, and the dosage was easy to calculate. After the site was closed down, drug users had to source their stuff from the ghetto criminals. Such stuff was mostly counterfeit, and caused a large number of deaths.

WoW this is the first time I read that... What a statement! Do you have any data? So if I graph overdoses and silkroad I will see a down trend until a spike when it was busted?

On the other hand it seems logical.

I have seen in Reddit and other forums of users citing real examples. Guys used to get their stuff from Silk Road. Once that source was gone, they had to depend on the street drug-peddlers. Some of them fell victim to the crimes and many died as a result of counterfeit stuff or overdose. If you ask me who gained the most from the busting of Silk Road, then it is going to be the drug peddlers.

Half of the Population would have become drug addicts. Xanax and Aldolan sales would went through the roof. Most of them would have died in a couple of weeks from overdose and drug interaction.

It will totally destroy our society, look now our country the PHILIPPINES and see for yourself crime and corruption everywhere that is why our president now have a huge problem in this crisis. So dont wish that drugs will be legal. It ruins our life even if you are the most kind person in the our world if your neighborhood is drug addict, drug pusher, drug user, drug peddler, and drug lord your life will be in hell. So dont wish because you will be the victim of this drug menace.

The user above is right. You are comparing two different situations since the philippines never tried decriminalizing or legalizing drugs as far as i know. What the country is going through is not because of that. With legalization there wouldn't be a place for drug pushers, drug peddlers or drug lords. Most you would have are regulated businesses, not criminals selling the drugs. Decriminalization would help too though there could remain some place for criminality. Though much less than if drugs remain illegal.

Your post is full of BS.

Drugs were never legalized in Philippines.

So your example is ridiculous. On the other hand, Philippines is an ideal example of what happens when the government proceeds with the "war on drugs", rather than attempting to regulate the drug trade. Philippines is not the first example, and it won't be the last. We have good examples from Mexico, Italy, Southern USA, Pakistan.etc.

If drugs became legal, the same thing that has always happened will continue to happen, with neardowells will gravitate towards them. And I supposed more people who wouldn't have been exposed to them will try them.
What do you mean it will continue to happen ?
Yes many people will try it for the reason of curiosity ,but the fact that many people will be addicted on it ,i think there were many crime will be on the place .the effects of drugs will ruin the mind and body .so if it becomes legal i want to be safe at all and don't try it.
By continue to happen I meant that the same mentality that is attracted to drugs will still continue to gravitate towards them.

Quote from:  Flynn
Exclusive — Ret. Lt. Gen. Flynn: Terror-Linked Nations ‘Cutting Deals’ with Mexican Cartels

I talk about this in the book — about the threat in Central and South America from countries like Iran who have organizations like Hezbollah who run a large transnational organized criminal organization which move narcotics and other commodities as well as humans into our country…

I know from my friends in the Border Patrol in CBP that there are… radical Islamist countries, state-sponsored, that are cutting deals with Mexican drug cartels for some of what they call the lanes of entry into our country. And I have personally seen the photos of the signage along those paths that are in Arabic… they’re like way points along that path as you come in. Primarily in this case the one that I saw was in Texas and it’s literally… signs in Arabic… [that say] ‘this way, move to this point’…

This is another reason why trump and all the political class are completely off mark... When trump said he will ban psychoactive... Good luck cutting flow to Manhattan... A little real estate builders believe he will succeed... Dream on dream on.

It's simple: let them have what they want, eventually pay taxes on it (while benefiting from enforced regulation about quality etc) or face the black market... And lose.

Education, information, prevention and seen in a medical perspective vs law enforcement.

This rise of Muslims and radicalized Muslims coming into our country illegally is something that we should pay very, very close attention to.

Did anyone noticed this? Absolutely atrocious!

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-philippines-duterte-un-killings-idUSKCN10X0IS

Out of the 1,800 killed during the past few weeks, only a few hundred were drug peddlers. The others were innocent slum dwellers who were wrongly branded as drug peddlers by their rivals. Philippines is slowly exterminating its slum population.

The so called Christians... Anyway by having allowed transgenic rice Philippines has join the axis of evil. Soon enough they will be no more.

Then what's interesting from a market perspective is how the psychoactive trade will react. Right now the risks have increased violently which will inexorably lead to higher reward as such adaptation and evolution will ensue... Theory in action.

Yet, if not violent crime, we may see a huge rise in irrational behavior or dangerous driving.

Why would that increase because of drug legalization? Alcohol is legal in most places. And most people know when to use it and how much they can handle. Legalizing drugs won't change anything there for the people who already take them. And looking at the examples of countries that already did it there wasn't a big increase in the number of users.
