Also I am guessing it is a sign of the times, but I noticed CampBX is not on the list.
CampBX is also removed from blockchain's  market list, Now only bitstamp and btc-e is there.
https://markets.blockchain.info/
although I never used it, Btc-e and localbitcoins is what I prefer.

is btc-e safe?

Safe? None of the exchanges are safe. Personally, though, i feel safer with BTCE than Stamp or BFX.

LBC is head and shoulders above all others. No other exchange, centralized or decentralized, allows users as many payment methods.

And there is almost no way to buy coins faster.

You may pay more, but you are paying for convenience and variety. Totally worth it.

Of all the traditional exchanges I have used BTC-e the most.

if you want to do other coins trading except bitcoin, btc-e is unique best choice.

i'm not sure about that. BTC-E must have close ties to the devs of the alts on their exchange, because they are mostly dead coins now. no new coins in like a year, since XPM was added. if you want to trade alts, i'd look to poloniex or mintpal.

if you want to low fee, you can try bitfinex, lakebtc, kraken.
if you want to have simple and comfortable UE for buy/sell bitcoins, you can try bitstamp, lakebtc.

I trade my bitcorns on BTCE -- when I dare hold fiat, that is.

Mintpal for alt currencies and anxpro for bitcoin/fiat, well at the end anxpro can be used for both. Cheesy

Mintpal and Poloniex for altcoin trading. I used to trade on Craptsy, but interface and lag were horrible. When I trade against fiat, I usually do it on BTCE -- that's my favorite fiat exchange.

I am personally a fan of coinbase.com as it is regarded to be secure, meaning it has the proper safeguards to keep customer funds safe from theft.

Coinbase is not an exchange, though, more of a broker. You can't keep $$ there to buy on a low, for instance. No trading platform, no order book, no trade reporting.

Indeed. I do use Coinbase to get money from my bank account into BTC, but then I usually send my coins to BTC-E and Bitfinex in order to trade. "Trading" on Coinbase means money in/out of your bank every time.

some users mentioned lakeBTC, worth to try?
i use cryptsy because I like the interface, performance ,& high security.
And they have enable trading for $ currency. One more step foward  Cool

Interesting. I actually hate Cryptsy. Their interface is horrible. They take forever to credit deposits. And their trading engine is not real-time. It's extremely laggy. Very frustrating when trying to scalp pumps.
yeah, i remembered some users in this forum call them craptsy Grin
me too have bad experience with it and don't want use it anymore Sad
I used exchanges not much, bitstamp's liquidity is not very good, and the charges are so many even deposit; bitfinex makes someone feels good, but it does not fit me, I don't need short/margin, it's enough contented for me that just a simple buy and sell; coinbase seems simple buying and selling, but it is not a true exchange, lack many features; while lakebtc to meet my needs, simple to buy and sell, quickly and safely, complete bitcoin exchange service.

I think it is well suited for the demands of most people to simply buying and selling bitcoins.
i think bitfinex good for daily trader who like margin so much Tongue
i'll try lakeBTC, i only need buy and sell bitcoin, with many options for withdrawal

I haven't used any of them but Localbitcoins should be added to the list imo. Or are they not considered an exchange?
