Guys guys and how do i add a picture for my avatar i just arrived here

You have to be atleast full member rank to wear avatar and you are just started your journey so I think it will better to learn other things before it. First you should know the whole criteria of avatar and signature which you can found here.
 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0Forum ranks/positions/badges

additionally your image avatar size should be 120x width and 80x height. you can adjust it online or check this thread

[GUIDE] How to change desired image as Bitcointalk avatar size using app
One good way I have learnt that members do get good thumbs up for a post is by uploading good images. I have known of 'imgur' at the onset but couldn't find it useful till the issues they had.

Talkimg.com is the best I have recently learnt of and am glad I knew about it before I read this post. Although am still lazy about embedding any images in my posts, I can assure you am in  the process of trying it out.

Awesome i really appreciate the support  Smiley

Short answer there's is none... long answer you can argue.

In simple words it's true that finding a "best" image hosting site that won't conflict with Bitcointalk's proxy can be quite a challenge. As of now, there isn't a definitive answer to this question.

At one time imgur was one of "the best" image hosting site but time has proved it wrong.

After that ImgBB is working fine until today, but you really don't know what will happen tomorrow.

Last https://talkimg.com/ has appeared very recently and yes it is owned by someone known to the forum has promised to be dedicated to bitcointalk and may hold promise but again there's no guarantee whatsoever that this is the best image hosting service. or there are no guarantees that it's the best solution for Bitcointalk's image hosting needs.

On a lighter note I'm using talkimg and really thank joker_josue for his amazing service but since it's not official "Bitcointalk" hosting so  we're relying on his dedication.

So in summary really there's no single best hosting service for bitcointalk until theymos brings bitcointalk's own image hosting service or may be that new software already has a built-in option for image uploads who knows? Until then, it's a matter of trial and error to find the most suitable solution for your needs.

Let's just enjoy https://talkimg.com/ for now as it works fine on bitcointalk.org. The cool part is that you upload image and it returns you BBcode which you just need to past here. So talkimg.com has made image uploading a bit easier on bitcointalk.org. uploading image on bitcointalk.org is not as easy as uploading a file on Gmail. We need to wait until there is some modern way of image uploading introduced here.

TalkImg is not like Imgur, you do not need to add BBcode manually as it provides you with those links. After uploading the image, click on the first drop-down menu where it says Embed codes and you get the image link with BB codes.

Talking is very easy and best compatible with Bitcointalk and newbie should be advised this image hosting site in the first priority. When I was a newbie I attempted many times to embed image but I consistently got error. I read many threads and was doing the same but problem not solved then at last i realized that link of forum compatible image ending with .png is differ from normal links. If newbie use Talkimg, they will not face this issue as this site directly gives the direct bb link.

TalkImg was created by joker_josue keeping in mind the issues faced by users of Bitcointalk. It is so simple to use, even if someone does not have a clue how to use BBcode they can still use it with some understanding. The recommended image extension would be PNG and not JPG.

I haven't use talkimg yet and I am open to a correction if I am wrong. In that case, the BBcode I have shared will be an additional information for OP in case he doesn't know about that and how to resize. It never hurts to know about what code to use and it also won't work if it doesn't end in image format not that talkimg doesn't end with it. It is also helpful if you aren't using talkimg where you need to type it yourself before it will work or the image will display.

After the new update, uploading photos to Bitcoin Talk Forum is easy with talkimg.com  Entering talkimg.com and selecting the photo you want to upload, you have to paste and post the photo link according to the specific rules of the forum, only then your uploaded photo will be visible in the forum.

Upload the image again using https://talkimg.com and you should copy the BBcode when done uploading the image. Go back to the forum where you are going to post the image and make sure to use the correct BBcode for it. One more thing, make sure the link of the image ends with image format such as .jpg, .jpeg. The BBcode for displaying image is shown below, It is also possible to resize the image.

Code:
[img]Image Link here.jpg[/img]
Code:
[img width=size number height=size number]Image Link here.jpg[/img]
[/cose]

Thanks a lot guys, i'll give it a try.

Upload your image to https://talkimg.com and once you’re done you should get a BBcode link with the tag, so all you have to do is to come to the forum and paste it.
There is an additional advantage, which is that if you upload a picture by mistake or want to delete it, I think that communicating with joker_josue will be easier and faster than with hosting service providers outside the forum.
It is true that you must be careful because some people may scraping images, but it is better than nothing.

Guys guys and how do i add a picture for my avatar i just arrived here
You are newbie member and you can't add any picture to your avatar as it's disabled for newbie rank but once you get to full member rank you can add images to your avatar like personal one or wear it for any signature campaign you might be participating at that time. But for the image uploading you just need to be junior rank which is at 30 activity and 1 merit so you need to achieve that target first of all.

One of bitcointalk members launched image hosting site after imgur stopped working, TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk which is the one I would recommend, just keep in mind that you can use it for bitcointalk only.

Alternatively, you can also use https://imgbb.com/ or https://postimages.org/ (this is the one I use for the other sites).
I've been using https://postimages.org but sometimes it is getting an error, I'm not sure if it's because of the link but I also get the direct link, so I always try to redo the uploading of images, and somehow it always works the second time. Is anyone here using Postimages getting the same error and do the same thing?

Thanks for this, I'll try to use this one when I submit my Art submission on Roobet's art contest  Cheesy

I always got an error,

Bitcointalk image proxy invalid image.

So what is the best image hosting site to use that will not conflict with bitcointalk proxy thing
Use bb image or Talkimage <-- image hosting platforms to host your image or GIF, the best one with an anonymity factor is the BBimage while the talk image did store the IP of the users but that can also be tricked using a VPN (a paid one) or with the usage of TOR browser. And the most amazing thing is, that there is a fear of the BBImage platform that it could also ban BTT from hosting any type of image like Imgur did.

But there is nothing to be afraid of in TalkImg because it is made by the members of this forum and dedicated to this forum.

You must be using Imgur and it does not support BTT anymore. If you are not using Imgur then use the one that BTT supports, like the ones I have mentioned above.

Yes, as everyone mentioned above, using talkimg.com is the best for the forum, and you can use the image upload tool with it as you can see in the image below:

This is a wonderful tool that will help you a lot and make your work easier. You must first register on talkimg.com to get API key  and then download the script to your browser. You can read the full method here:

Don't forget to say thanks to TryNinja and joker_josue for this amazing work.

I always got an error,

Bitcointalk image proxy invalid image.

Like everyone else recommended you the talkimg.com is the best website that you can use to upload your images and the proxy invalid image error will disappear. That error mostly happens when someone uploads images to Imgur.com and those images won't work on this forum.

You can try another good website which is https://imgbb.com/ to upload images and the image uploaded on that site also work on the forum flawlessly. But, still I recommend you to use talkimg.com only as that's a project made by a reputed member of the forum and that one works best for Bitcointalk.org.
