You're absolutely right, I think that's the best way of saving our seed phrase, but you need to keep it in a private place where nobody will have access to it, but my question is that what if natural disaster occur or happen isn't going to affect it?

Saving your seed phrase on an hardware wallet is the best by any means but the pattern that should be the best is engraving it on a wood or metal making it look like a signature , an italicized writeup and then beautify it and keep it in your home like a photo frame, if you did not tell anybody they would not know, people visiting or even family members will think it's an art work to beautify your home, you can have several of them kept in various rooms or anywhere you want to keep it .

If we are looking for a best means of saving our seeds, then we must also consider how we could go about having this under a controlled privacy environment, whereby we are the only one to have access to seeing it and where its been stored, some will even go to the extend of using laminated sheet or engraved metallic sheet in saving their seeds, we should remember that using the online means should be completely avoided because its not safe

You're absolutely right splitting of seed phrase in multiple parts sometimes you might lose one part, I think is advisable to have the seed phrase all joined together in a hidden place, so as to avoid losing your seed phrase however,I don't split my seed phrase rather i put it in a very hidden place.
It's not advisable to split a seedphrase into two parts or more, if you want to have a protected backup, it's safer and more reliable to extend these words (passphrase) where the seedphrase is something you have and the passphrase is something you know.
Their is no need of splting the seedphrase and keeping it in a different location because sometimes things occur that you can just forget or something happens which you won't be able to get access to it. I believe when a seedphrase is being taking care of very well and placed in a secure place it is safe, but splitting it in a different location I think you will have a lot of works to do to make sure you don't forget these location.

Having the complete seedphrase in same location is even more safe than having it different location.  Sometimes we may be thinking we are trying to give the best security but instead just making things very complicated.

I believe as an investor many don't have just one wallet, people do have several wallets. Just imagine all the seedphrase of these wallets are splitted and kept in a different place, don't you think if you are not very careful it can be very confusing by missing everything up. Store your wallet seedphrase that will be simple for you but very difficult for other people to get access to it.

Imagine if you lived in Dubai which just had a great flooding event.
There is little to no time to react in such a natural disaster, so many people lost everything or almost everything.

If you had only a physical backup of your seedphrase it would be washed away in the flood and lost forever along with your hardware wallet and stored funds.
If I lived in an area known for natural disasters I would consider keeping a backup online. Every year many people lose their homes to wildfires in California for example.

There are ways to do this relatively safely as suggested previously (ie: passphrases, mixing up two or more words, encrypted Microsoft pdf files, etc.).
This may not be for everyone but could be an option for some.
Were skyscrapers flooded in Dubai? Are you sure? Because most people live there. Anyway, if someone lives in an area where there is a risk of flood and they live in a house with one or two floor, they should have a different plan. I think that every case is very individual. My plan doesn't include flood because I am not in a dangerous zone, I don't have to worry about earthquake too but I have different threats. So, like I said, every case is individual.

Encrypting a PDF file and uploading it somewhere is not a good idea either but if one has to choose between losing coins or uploading it somewhere, I would upload. But one has to be very careful with it.
Actually, saving the Seed phrase depends on each individual because he is the one who knows the safe place for himself. Apart from that, residential areas that are prone to natural disasters are also an independent indicator in choosing the safest storage place.

All members in this forum have expressed their respective opinions regarding the safest storage of seed phrases. We just have to choose according to the method we have. In essence, no matter how secure the wallet we choose is, no matter how safe the place we store the seed phrase is, if we are careless in protecting it, the assets will still be lost. Therefore, guard the Seed Phrase like guarding your own life, be careful and always be alert to unwanted things.

The first option sounds pretty solid to me. Splitting the seed phrase across different banks and adding a passphrase for the hardware wallet adds extra security layers. The second option is okay too, but be cautious with sharing USB drives to avoid increasing the risk.

There are single story homes in Dubai. If you lived in the lower floors of a high rise structure you would not be protected from the waters.
Flooding is not the only risk when you live in a skyscraper there is also the ever present risk of fire.

Of course the risk of fire exists no matter what kind of structure you live in.

File encryption is just one layer of security. When combined with a passphrase it would be pretty much impossible for anyone to access your funds.
I would never store a plain seedphrase online without any kind of encryption or other security measures.

Except another thing you could do is make a fake seedphrase as bait, or many fake seedphrases.

Losing your private key or seed phrase is a very scary thing, so you really need to plan efficiently to avoid the unexpected. And you can make multiple backups of your seed phrases, storing them in separate secure locations in several places, and it's also important to consider using a safe. And you can also engrave your seed phrase on a steel plate and keep it in a very safe place that only you know about, and there are many ways to keep it safe depending on you which one is best.
And also never save your seed phrase on a computer or device connected to the internet or technology because it has the potential to be hacked, stolen and so on.
Losing a private key is certainly something we don't want because losing a private key is the same as losing all assets. So it is very important before investing in Bitcoin, whether in small or large amounts, we first learn about wallet security, such as storing private keys to keep them safe. Because many beginners think this is trivial, it's not surprising that many lose their bitcoins because they can't access them anymore.

I'm most worried about fires. I think what you say is very true, we should keep some backups of our initial phrases in several places including by engraving them on metal but for me cryptotags provide more security in the form of almost double the melting point of titanium with stainless steel in it in the event of a fire . Storing seed phrases online is risky, even if you don't want to bother engraving them on metal, at least store seed phrases offline, this will protect our assets from hackers.

Not sure whether its the best way or not but for storing my SEED phrase I use both primitive and digital techniques.

Primitive technique relies on both pen&paper  and metal washers encoded in  a watch dial manner. .

Regarding  the digital technique, I use the combination of pgp hardware key/smart card and Tail OS on bootable flash drive. More on this is here.

This is actually a good example why having a lot of backups is important. But I wouldn't say that a cloud backup is recommended because of this. If someone who's into that situation and you're in your house, you'd get your back up as soon as possible because you've placed it on a safe place where it won't be washed away by the flood. It takes time until the flood goes up and resurface to the high place where you've placed your hardware or the seed itself. So it varies per situation but if you're saying that keeping a back up online is a solution, it's not really a good idea IMHO even if you're in a situation where disasters are more often. Try to do something like making a dogtag where you'd place it on an area where you can take it away with you asap.

Encrypting it on a pdf file or any word file isn't really a choice for me or anything that I'd store online. This is your wealth that you'll keep so if you have no other option then it's just best to store your wealth on fiat and deposit it on the bank than to do these solutions that you're having.

Storing seed phrases online is never recommended as its risks are greater than storing them offline. But the example you gave also shows that there are also unforeseen risks when we store offline. Nothing is 100% perfect and each method will have advantages and disadvantages. So in my opinion, let's make choices that are suitable for the area we live in. If you live in an area prone to storms and natural disasters, physical storage is not really as safe as you mentioned. But if you choose an online solution, you also need to consider it because being attacked by hackers is also a huge risk and there have been many cases, so most people do not like this method.

Best way to store up your seed phrase?

You could be having tons of options;

•Hardware wallet

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the copy of a seed phrase intended as a backup recovery method if something happens to your main wallet?  Hardware wallets can provide good security for everyday use, but we still need to think carefully about how to store that seed phrase securely in case it's ever needed.  Hardware wallets are not designed for this purpose, imo.

Its up to you on how you would really be making yourself that keep those private key into safe place.
People do usually lose up their coins because they had just lost up their keys and their storage and ended up on
losing the coins in the void.

So far i have just make use of a air-gaped laptop on storing up my coins and never intended to be connected into the internet.
Its really up to you on how you do keep your coins into safety.
Avoids trouble and use any other means of safer transactions. Consistency is the key and we will gladly stay focused on making huge sums at our ends. You made the appropriate answer to OP question, just have to contribute more because the space is complex and there's always hurdles on the path of these investors. Storing our seed phrases shouldn't be something we should be arguing about because the system comes with surprising results.

2) Access: But what happens if you travel to a foreighn country and get arrested and need access to your Bitcoin funds to pay for a good lawyer?Huh  How does it help that you have the seed phrase hidden at home???

Maybe worth to have set up an online option to access your seed phrase, at least then you have a chance to use your Bitcoins .....
You can have some funds on your hardware wallet or software wallet that you'd use while on a vacation or business trip to a foreign country. You don't need to be carrying your seed phrase around and I strongly kick against it. Having your seed phrase somewhere very safe doesn't stop you from accessing and spending your funds. So if you find yourself in some kind of trouble and you need to access your Bitcoin to pay for the services of a lawyer, you can still do that.

Underestimate- nothing
Every method has advantages and disadvantages, no method is 100% perfect and depending on each person, there will be a method that suits them.

True that all methods might have their advantages and disadvantages but they should still be offline because anything connected to the internet is open to hacking and it is more risky than keeping it offline. we know we are all trying to play it smart and soft by keeping it online it is dangerous, and if it is about playing it smart then you can get a flash and save it there with a password you can remember there ways to keep it safe.

Absolutely agree. Everyone needs to find his own way to store the seed phrase. There are many ways. I recommend the following (must not mean I do it):
- If you are good in memorizing things, then learn your 12 or 24 words. This is easier then you thing. Repeat this over days and weeks until you can get the seed in your sleep. Similar to a poem or prayer that you have learned once and can do for your whole life.
- For extra security (in case a rock hits your head), engrave the seed into a metal plate and hide, bury or store it in a safe place. The metal plate should be safe against water, fire and other influences.

But if anyone is looking for ways to store it better some consultations can be made, so that you do not make the mistake of saving it the wrong way, I don't think memorizing it will be a good option for me, because at the end of the day, I might mix it up or later forget some so I feel like my memory will fail me. like that other guy said all methods have their disadvantages because you can forget. instead of this, I will maybe save it in the bank for safety keeping i can decide to claim it anytime I wish to claim it. it is information that needs to be kept away from people, if anyone gets hold of it then they have been given access.

For now I think there is no best way for us to store our seed phrase because any option we think of would always have a disadvantage that is why we should keep it or save it anywhere we believe could be okay for us. Even if you write it in a sheet if paper or metal plate, there is still possibility that water could soak it and it will get washed away if it accidentally enters water.
In the other way round, if the hiuse get burn, we would not have access to it because it could meakt due to the fire heat.

In recent time we have too many things about this all but still many are fearing to lose this which is creating problems because I personally lost one word, and now it's nearly 4 years I fail to recover my all bitcoins which are still into my account with blockchain.com and I am having pain as well because this is big amount and still I am not able to come out of this all, so the best way is just tried to save this offline and also try to read about @fillippone he is doing good work for the newbies and members which are feeling not good and always need to be settle things with better safety hopefully things like these will be helpful for many others, and we will not face problems in the future.
