as i believe the main reason for long term poverty in countries is due to poor education and lack of knowledge leading to poor understanding about their situation and not knowing methods to get rid of the factors that make them poor,
by education the public, they can gain the knowledge to improve agricultural activities with the resources they have, because even in most barren land you can cultivate something with proper knowledge, with that their nutrition level will grow up and that will help them to archive more money seeking activities,
poor education and knowledge also leads to corrupt politics and poor governance, this make the population go in to more trouble.
so to reduce poverty, the best way would be to increase the education level of the society.

I think its because of poor people who make a lot of babies, our country is over population thats why we have efficiency in foods, poor people should know their limits in making child so that over population and food poverty is controlled.
I think the corruption is the most common cause of poverty.
Wrong mind set and lack of the right information and willingness to try out new ideas are common causes of poverty.
May I add from wrong mindset, also laziness is another factor. They want an easy and abundant life but too lazy to find a work or any means to have an income. But sometimes there are people too complacent enough that they do not have an idea, they need to be guided and trained. Also, their unwilling to learn is another factor.
Pretty much reasons why is poverty all over the country.There are no jobs,overpopulation,budget for the poor corrupted by officials that wanted easy money,high price of commodity and goods,manners of all its people.
obviously someone is able to build the economy of the country, and who does not

The common cause of poverty is when the system of the country is not great. If the leader or the president is not working to make the economy developed. When there is very low salary and the expenses is high. If there is discrimination also to its company that are hiring for job, the opportunity of people is not good. Which makes the scenario worst. If government officials are doing their job well and not stealing money, the economy will surely bloom.

The rich don't worry about the poor, they mainly focus upon increasing their own wealth. The poor people struggle to even get a single meal a day. A state has enough to provide to every citizen but they normally are not willing to do this. Rich people need more.

I think the most common cause of poverty is "being born as a poor person". It is hard to struggle upward in a society where everyone brings you down whenever you can get ahead of them specially when you are at the stsrting point a poor person. Also one major cause of poverty is due to their environment and surroundings because you tend to adapt to what is around you if people in your area is poor you might be poor as well
