You are right, we cannot really tell what will happen tomorrow or in the coming weeks as unexpected news happens everyday, we cannot tell if cryptos will continue to received more fud bad news or if cryptos will rise again soon.

Bitcoin have already made it's name in the society and is still standing strong in mist of the attacks and FUD fulled by the government to take it down. Being a virtual currency it have brought a lot of improvements and people now perceive money differently. Bitcoin will become the future money or probably the internet money worldwide though this might take time to achieve.

Another cryptocurrency may replace bitcoin in the future but I believe that even if the first ever cryptocurrency created be replace by another one, cryptocurrency would still be used continuously because some of it has good use cases that would help us in making our living more comfortable. As long as it is being supported by people and demand continues, it would have a good future. There may be some disputes now as to the legalities of cryptocurrencies but then some countries are already making it legal which would eventually lead to more countries accepting it.

it is true that crypto currencies have a great potential to make global and local transactions easier and more secure. we have to consider also that even BTC who is with us for almost a decade is still young and volatile. but once it actually stabilizes, i'm pretty confident the investors will adopt it at the drop of the hat and more and more people will be able to use as actual currency and not just an investment option.

The hold of crypto currencies is already increasing, in fact people are getting awareness about the importance of crytpo currencies, they are now showing more interest in crytpo currencies both for investment purposes as well as for shopping to just like fiat currency.
