Learn the markets, learn the events and how they affect movements - most importantly, learn about your own behaviours as a trader.

No one should invest a huge ammount expecting to make a huge profit, usually this turns into some profit when it doesnt turn into a big loss, thats why first learn and know the market, see the max and minimum price of those altcoin, and just invest if you have sure, dont follow others sugestions, make your own rules to sucess.

It ideal to make some practice and observation while you are trading . Learning process would be long for sure because trading is not easy as it sounds you would really need some effort and skills to be profitable on it.
As long as you can afford that amount you can always start to trade, you will understand that it's fun to trade especially if that is your interest. The is always a minimum cause it there's none you ca trade with 1 sat. it's just good that some trading sites only require a lower minimum so more people can participate and I like the idea because they are willing to help us as well to be master in trading.

I would suggest you to try with localbitcoins, I agree that you need more amount to have trade in lbc. But you could win successfully in lbc because everyday you can find the trade beyond you trade limits.

If you are only new into trading then you should not put up huge amounts at first because for sure you will burn it up on an instant because the risk of lossing money on trading is there always. You could always start on small amounts and do trades as long you do it for longer times you will definitely learn and if you saw that you are already earning then thats the time you should put big money.
Rule of thumb would be whatever you can afford to lose.
I think at least you should have a capital of more than 0.01 BTC, atleats minimum 0.005 btc, because if less than that, I'm sure you will not feel a big profit dude
You can even start at BTC0.001 if you still in the stage of experimenting in trading. Start with the minimum since you are not good yet and you might lose, you can lose that amount easily but be sure you are getting the lessons you should get.
