Here's what i think:

1) Misconception that Gambling is an easier way to make money.

2) Imagine You bet 1 BTC at 90% and you win. You just got 10% profit. Now imagine you convert 1 BTC to fiat and deposit at the Bank. Wait for 2 years to get some 12% interest. Which is quicker? Of course betting at 90%. Idk why people never understand that 90% chance to win is not 100% chance to win. I've seen people loose 5 times in a row at 95%(thankfully all were 10 satoshi bets).

3) People win smaller and that makes them happy. They start playing more.. Another big win... Again start playing... HUGE LOSS.... Now what? Now, they want to recover what they lost. They bet again and again until they loose everything... Proof? Same thing happened to AKCoinMiner at Primedice

People keep waiting for them to get rich, and they purposely ignore the fact that the house is against them. They bet against the odds, just to win big.

easy money of course, i mean it's not so hard, you just have to be lucky and you can win lots of money, also when someone tries to gamble and loses, they wants to win what they lost, so they gamble again and again till they lose everything

The games are designed such that to attract people and play long time so at the end people addicted slowly. It is quite dangerous to addict these games.

People have addictive personalities, most people have a vice, some choose drink, cigarette's, drugs, prostitutes, making money even religion.

I don't think it's a weak personality trait.

Some people get obsessed with gambling, it's only a problem if you're betting with amounts you can't afford to lose which unfortunately seems to happen to some people.

Easy to understand but difficult for the gamblers to get rid of it. If they win, they want to win more! I they lose, they will try to recover the loss! So gambler will never stop until losing all money!

I got addicted in poker becaues I won in tournaments for one month straight. But after that I always lose for 3 months. Good for me I did not deposit anything I just play on freerolls.

How are casinos making people win at first? If they were cheating they could but other than that? What they do is offer some bonuses or free money but they know people will always come no matter what.

once you win in a gamble or your friends win a good amount of money. you will definitely get addicted to gambling in pursuit for more. this is easy money and people love "easy". The price is so motivating that quitting becomes a struggle. I personally have not engaged in gambling because of the great losses i have seen my friends experience.

Casinos actually try to make people win at first, to get you hooked, and then they know you will play until you lose everything and then some.

i think the main is the excitment that it gives. so imagine u bet ur hard earn money, you will feel the anxious and excitment when you click on the button or you open your cards 1 by 1, the hope to see how good your cards turn out to be or how bad it can be is really touching you and you can feel it. without money, one is just playing for the sake of playing, but with money, one will be drived to want to win.

when we talk about addiction there are many things should be considered , most of people get addicted cause they are trying to be rich quick
but in my opinion most of them are addicted because of the competition part and sometimes just to brag that they won couple thousands Grin

we should not forget that there are many people who are addicted to video games or agar for example Grin

I'd guess that gambling has some effect on the reward center in the brain. it's an issue of the brain, which induces a specific behavior (gambling)

i think its the first big win they have. i know when i won my first big amount i thought to myself " whoa that was easy, maybe i should do this again".
and winning big once just gets people hooked.

3. Problems: stress, emotional problems, feeling of emptiness, depression, family problems - all lead to addiction.
4. Commercials and ads of Casinos can make you interested in gambling.
5. You can have 'addictive personality' which is easily influenced by incentives.
