At the moment I don't keep "real" old coins, but I have "sh*t" oldcoins from the remnants of campaign activities that are currently like dying and the rest hasn't been listed until 2020 even though I got them from 2017-2018.
indeed when world economic conditions are not good like this and many corona virus outbreaks that spread would be better if storing assets in the form of real money than digital currencies that could collapse suddenly but as long as you know that I still hold assets in the form of bitcoin and ethereum, a few days ago I was able to get a lot of profit because the price of these two coins has increased in price.

I am still holding Verge (XVG).. I can't seem to forgive myself for the terrible error I made by not selling it off when I had the chance to when XVG did its all time high. Kept believing in the team and their promises. I saw a great roadmap and plan and thought this was going to be massive. How naive I was to think that was going to be the case. Till this day, XVG has continued to struggle in terms of value and price leaving my hopes and dreams shattered. I can't even sell it off at the moment, it's been a bitter experience.
I have a lot of tokens left over after airdrops and bounties, but this is 2016-2017. Almost all of them are worth 0. And some old coins, such as ldoge, but they are also depreciated.
Cardano, ETH, and Stellar. Maybe I would consider EOS and also Ripple. Both are very interesting and can give surprises in the next few years, who knows. Of course Bitcoin is the first choice.

I also have some ripple, but maybe I will be more interested in ETH and BNB. some new projects might not be interesting, that's why many investors are more interested in old coins which I think have been saved from the beginning of this year.XRP was really a promising project and worked well for some time but in between it just went down and down and dint returned back with the bang as was expected. BNB looks promising and holding can be beneficial till the time Binance keep doing work greatly and btc will as usual continue to be the king of all and need to be holding it like everyone generally does it.
in OP you also talked about "dead blockchains " so i looked to a few coins which i mined a lot in the period of 2014 , and one of my first self mined coins is one of them , i realy have alot of them but after some time the project stopped but i alway's keep them till the end of time

Talking about coins on wonder who will be holding some shitcoin without value from the beginning. Am holding some Bitcoin because am a fan of bitcoin from inception and still holding some good portfolios of this. Other goods coins one can think about is Etbereum only and evey other coins are to me shit. Bitcoin has demonstrated it true superiority over the cryptocurrency market and none has been able to challenge it seniority yet. So, holding Bitcoin is the only means I trusted and still trusting.

Personally I really like the strategy that you do, raising funds from the bounty campaign is the right step to trade, if it works we can get multiple benefits, and if not, we do not feel loss, because we do not spend money from our pockets.
My coins is not far than old big coins like ETH and Bitcoin. Because i am more believe in hold that, although if see daily, profit maybe look less. But if hold longer we not always think about price movement everyday and will be not more stressful than if we trade daily.
Old coins like ETH and Bitcoin are indeed worth holding because the potential they have is real, this old coin is also one that I still invest periodically. and for new coins outside I also invest, most importantly these coins have real potential. 
If you want to buy old coins, then choose Ethereum and Bitcoin. Both of these coins are old coins but they remain top 1 and 2 on the Market. And if you hold it at any time, you can still maintain the value of your assets. Meanwhile, for old coins that are no longer valuable on the Exchange, it is better to delete them from your portfolio list.
Until now, I no longer keep old coins and most of them have been sold when they have high sales value. and currently I only hold the top few altcoins that are commonly owned by most investors here, such as Ethereum, BNB, Ltc, XLM, and also EOS.
The only old altcoins that i am holding is ETH and some of my altcoins are not that old because i got it from bounty campaigns that i have participated and now they don't have any good value anymore, so they are not worth to hold unlike ETH it is really worth to hold in a long term because it could have a more greater value than today.

I think it is not necessary to revive the almost dead coins, because in this harsh world of cryptocurrencies people will not care about outdated coins, instead, they will care to the coins described in a beautiful and modern way.

When I think about the trend, I realize that every year, we have pretty diffrent coins in top 100. So, that means that coins in top 100 are just good only for hypes and then they will fall into apostate of history. Nobody cares about them. There are only few coins that persist in top 100 for few years: NEM, XRP, NEO, ETH and thats all.

But there are also some of them that still exist today, Like Aeternity (AE) which I hold from 2017, the price AE also doesn't go too far. That means this Aeternity project has good potential and quality until now, They can survive despite the various obstacles they face. 
I know that many of us regretted our past decisions, I'm part of the people who still holding old coins since 2017. Most of my coins doesn't have value anymore and it is what I regretted because I didn't sell it when its price is still high but I know it is okay for me especially I gaine experience and knowledge.
