You get freedom in your profile settings, can post images, no few minutes barrier between comments. But eventually you get habitual to your account and feels like everyday thing.

However, in today's new kind of ranking system, you must have obtain an enough amount of merit  for you to able to step up in a new rank. This new rule only imply that you must have create an interesting yet informative quality post for you to receive a merit. Now having these merit will brought out our effort to make some quality post, so that as that time comes for us to rank up this all effort will be worth.
The merit system applied in the forum has two perception in my opinion. Some user will think that this system is the biggest barrier to ranking and of course they are right because only user who dont want to change their post habit (low quality post, spam) will feel the impact and they will forever be ranked the same because there are no post who deserves an merit.

The second perception I mean is that some user will be motivated to learn and change their bad habit for the better by learning, improving the quality of post and continuing to find creative ideas channeled through posting normally. They will never complain or even think too much about merit because basically merit will not prevent anyone from going rank-up if they are able to contribute. The confidence and potential we have is important and continuing to try to be better is a surefire way to achieve success.

It's been a 3 years since I found out this forum and way back then growing your rank was not that tough because all you need to do is make a ton of post and wait for your activity to update for you to able to step up. However, in today's new kind of ranking system, you must have obtain an enough amount of merit  for you to able to step up in a new rank. This new rule only imply that you must have create an interesting yet informative quality post for you to receive a merit. If you're here for the content: It feels as insignificant as having your birthday. While you might somewhat celebrate it, in the end, nothing changes. You're just a bit older.

If you're here to make money: Somewhat a bit like a job promotion.

But yea, good luck ranking up if like 95% of your posts are concerning bounties.

So many here are on second option which is to make money and it's more like a job promotion for them, more stakes because they are going to have a big chunk of the allocation in the signature campaign, and having many merits also means their ticket to campaign that pays Bitcoin weekly.

It really differs on each person on what goal that person is trying to achieve. Some are proud because they achieve higher rank by helping other person about the problems they have experiencing. Some are looking to earn by doing some services so it depends on what will be your feelings when achieveing higher rank or a new milestone.

Probably you should always ask yourself why I came to the forum? Most of the people who have a high-rank came to the forum for knowledge about Bitcoin. Look at their registration date. I'm talking about a time before 2017. These people truly believed and do believe in Bitcoin, and I consider them to be a good example for me.

In another case, a rise in rank is needed to participate in subscription campaigns or bounty, and this raises many questions. Is it right to count every post you create just to get merit?

In fact, there is an irony of life, when we give something unselfishly, but in this case, we benefit the forum, write useful articles, then the increase in rank occurs imperceptibly. The main thing is not to dwell on this, and everything will come at the right time for you.

as a member that doesn't really create(maybe just having a hard time) a high-quality post every time and only getting merited from time to time, I get a happy sensation that someone deemed my post either high quality(most probably not), helpful, funny, constructive, etc..  anyway, I'd probably feel proud if I get the necessary merit for legendary even if it takes a very long time to happen.

I guess I'll find out in time by experience soon enough how it does feel. In the meantime, how about some you guys tell us, how you really felt.
We would love to hear it!
How about experienced

High rank is nothing if you have a bad reputation the most important thing is you are trusted and you are not involved in dubious and spamming activities and you are continuously contributing to the health of this forum, you will eventually rank if you are clean and contribute a lot.

I think faith is the basis of everything there'll be obstacles within the way of success in every endeavour so we've to face the challenges and move forward the forum should be more active and check out to follow its various aspects to assist us to gain talent while increasing our knowledge. If we follow the posts of the large members of the forum we'll be ready to learn something and help us to manoeuvre on to subsequent step.
Optimism is something that can help you achieve your goal. When you believe in yourself and the potential you have, you will try to apply it. We all have different interest and that is a sure thing. If you want to be a good member of the forum, then you should try as much as possible to post things that are of good quality so that ranking is a guarantee for you to achieve it.

Many motivational thread from user who have achieved their new rank so far that inspires us. To be honest, I am very jealous of what they can achieve so now I am motivated to do what they do and that is "improving the quality of post and contribution". I only have 1 rank left to reach and that is Legendary and I am very confident that one day I will be able to achieve it with my effort and hard work.

I have managed to get 129 merit so far because of my interest to be a good user and contribute and I am very happy because many people welcomed my good intention. I only need 371 more merit to reach the highest ranking "Legendary" on the forum and of course I really need the attention and help of other user here. I dont post just to get merit but I just do what I have to do and let people judge for themselves about the quality of my post.

That's a question for the newbies as I am myself one. This question has and still puzzles my mind on how it really feels. I guess a lot of you with ranks now where once in these shoes. I guess I'll find out in time by experience soon enough how it does feel. In the meantime, how about some you guys tell us, how you really felt.

In the olden days, you will eventually rank up depending on your posts and activities, but now that we have merit members will have to work to get merits to rank up, but even if you have a high rank you need to keep up with your responsibility it's not about the rank but how well you know about the niche or industry you're in I have seen low-rank members with ample knowledge about blockchain and Cryptocurrency than some highly rank members.

Same thought, there are really a lot of newbies better than some of us when it comes to the technicality of btc. I just hope they are really newbies in this forum. I doubt they are just alter account of other members. Anyway, you are right that a higher account is a responsibility too. When you are old in this forum, I think it is a responsibility to contribute to it. I admire some of the members here. I learned a lot from them. Sometimes I read silently but I already new names who I can trust when it comes to new information.

I'm wandering that also and see so many informative newbies here maybe they are not totally new since some of them post some quality contents and get those merits. Maybe some people farming but we cannot judge nor get any proof about this things.

Maybe we should leave them up and continue on our activities here.

Sure, it feels great now that ranking up requires significant post, hardwork, effort, and whatnot. Unlike before, you just need to make bunch of post that you didn't even think whether if it really makes sense on the entirety of a certain discussion. And just wait for your activity to count up, yeah time is the only hindrance you have, and you just have to stand by for you to step next up  Cheesy.

So, as much as you can, try to be significant. But bear in mind that you might not get merits as frequently as you think so  Tongue. Well, eventually, someone would notice you and your efforts, either way.
LOL, I have been through in this stage and so far I never get any merits having a jr. member in rank when I join the forum. And then new rules was implemented and that is the merit system to which I remember I was demoted to newbie for not getting any merits. Then I have left the forum since then after getting 10 merits I guess.

However, I miss bitcoin since I had made holdings on it before I left. I became coward to huge lossess. I learn my lesson and I guess it is a time also to try again. As they say try and try until you succeed. LOL..

Hey, Buddy, growing in tank here is good experience and mostly gives a signal of joy in member. Feeling grateful for a good post and got merited is a sign of achievement and grateful. Many newbies here find it hard or rather think ranking up is just a rocket science but it isn't like that. You get can as many merit as you want if only you create quality and contributing posts that will absolutely deserve merit. I feel so renounced and more experienced in blockchaim and cryptocurrency as my rank grows up here. I'm at member rank because of the little experience I had had about this forum, crypto space and blockchain as a whole.

You're so on point. In my experience, the best way to rank up here on the forum is to be original. Don't chase the merits and it'll come to you. You just have to be original and contribute actively. Because if you do put merits as your end point, you easily become frustrated when you aren't getting as much merits s you feel you should.

-snip-
Being original is a choice. Many beginners are not too concerned with how original they are. The feeling of growing up as a beginner and then moving up the rank by being original is a satisfaction and being proud of being able to reach the highest rank.

Contributing actively by being original will bring services to our account, without the need to pursue services again. It turns out that getting services is very easy, just need to actively contribute to the forum and become a good poster is good enough.

I think one can be original if he already had the knowledge, being original will naturally come when you are just sharing your knowledge with others without even trying so hard. So I think the best way to be original is to read a lot, learn a lot, watch a lot. When you already learn a lot, you can now pinpoint what's lacking in a topic, you can also have your own idea about it. You can share the knowledge easily and it will be original because it really comes from you, not a copy paste from an article you read a while ago. You already have it and confident with it cause you know you have read it a lot from different sources.
Being original is the best way for you to rank up in this forum if other members see that you are making quality content by your ideas and on-point opinions with proofs, for sure other members would love to give or send you merits. Copying or plagiarizing other people's content and topics without mentioning the author are prohibited in this forum because it can be considered stealing and taking other person's ideas, and making it as your own.
