The forum is quite an otherly and well moderated one such that one with the mindset of boosting in ranks regardless of what he or she posts is an abolished fantasy which is commendable. It ensures purity of the forum, lives no room for ambiguous rubbish and motivates newbies to think, research and understand what the forum and world of Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency and other alternate cryptos are all about.
The forum was created a decade ago for bitcoin, not for altcoins, not for ranks. Think of it please. The forum matches your needs if you join it to learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. If you join it because of money, it does not for you.

That's a question for the newbies as I am myself one. This question has and still puzzles my mind on how it really feels. I guess a lot of you with ranks now where once in these shoes. I guess I'll find out in time by experience soon enough how it does feel. In the meantime, how about some you guys tell us, how you really felt.
You will get troubles if you think of ranks too much. Don't spend your time to think of rank.

Spare some time of reading those testimonies and you will get a hint of how they feel of ranking up, what are their steps to achieve something meaningful, you'll also get to know the discipline they practice and most of all their determination they held to themselves up until now.  Cheesy

After achieving every milestone here its just not like that you will enjoy the taste of your own rankup alone where i think who helped you through suggestions, proper guidelines and valuable merits they also get happy to see you in a new rank. Even new community users also get inspiration from your achievement which help them to make their bitcointalk journey noticeable. Ranking up is not only like that you are going to get opportunities of joining signature, bounties or anything else. I think it create new identity for you which is priceless.

I can tell you that still i miss my old days like others and it will remain same for me. You can take a look here where i expressed my feelings with everyone after achieving Sr rank; Road to hero membership

I felt great when I ranked up. It's the same experience as when we get promoted to a higher level in our job. It increases more responsibility and more enthusiasm to post.

If there was no merit system and no rankings, then there would have not been much interest to post actively in the forum.

I don't feel anything in particular, but in most cases, people's perception about you changed instead. I remember I was called out a few years ago, "just a Member", when I tried to make a guide on how to make a nice thread. While that's not really the right thing to do, I imagined it will be different if I was a Legendary or Hero at that time.

Might be different if you need to rank up for money though, as some have mentioned above.

Just balance out your posting history so that it does not overwhelm with bounty reports and I’m sure you’ll start moving-up the ranks. A heavy bounty related history kind of goes against the ranking system nowadays, and where before you could become a Legendary without creating any decent content, not that is not so.

In terms of ranking-up, I got a weird feeling reaching Sr. Member, as the appellative seemed to click in my mind an association with old age. Hero Member seemed overly exaggerated in relation to any of my doings, and the remaining rank seems tremendously pompous in my view. I kind of go contra-natura here I guess …

Taking that with one merit and thirty activities a newbie move up to junior member rank, if the newbie is constant and consistent they can get luck to getting a single merit -brushing aside there posts quality bad or good-.
I think ranking up for me is exciting and interesting not only for the packages that comes with a new rank
 +better signature
+ avatar -full member +
+ Opportunities to get a higher pay
+ Can contribute in board that you weren't before -full member +
But the sense of a new juncture comes a new dare to raise the bar. Is not about ranking up -some ranked up because of airdropped merit and more- but knowing you are on a new rank.
To me ranking up is a about changing -for the better- doing more that you did last

Before I was a shit poster like the others and struggling to earn merit and this is my first post. Rank up and by the time goes by I want to catch up with the dream of a full member because simply I want to have my personal avatar it takes time before I reach this rank it took five (5) months before I get a lot of merits just on that dream on the first pace of rank of Jr member to Member is just the easiest way to earn merit because you only need is just 10 merit but in full member, rank is one of my biggest struggles to earn merit I create of threads and hopefully most of those got merit to help me out close to my dream.

And one day I come up with the idea to make a game which is the Bitcointalk game and unexpectedly this game becomes popular and many people like and play and especially give merit to achieve my goal.

It is better to set a goal every time so you have a motivation, but when I see most of your contents you are focusing into bounties I'm not against with it but if you still continue that being dependent on finding a good bounty, you cannot reach the higher rank as soon as possible .

Ranking up gives a lot of overwhelming odds to your self because it reflects the hard work and the number of contents too are giving to our forum by that you can participant into different campaigns and still if you think that the rank up is easier it is not because it takes time allotment. before you reach the specific rank you want and as a newbie, you must need to have at least one merit to rank up and it is easier to do up to the member because it requires only up to 10 merits unlike the full member up to legendary.

Getting Merits is not that tough as it sounds, you only need to concentrate on sharing quality information in this forum. I have seen many forum members who have earned merits just by sharing their knowledge and by creating quality topics.

You have to create topics that have information that will benefit the forum members. Merit is a kind of appreciation that you get when you have done a good job for the community. Everyone loves appreciation

One of the best ways to earn merit is creating content because if you make a topic that helps other people there is a lot of merit sources out there that can help you out to rank up and meet the requirements you needed.

Starts to feel great as soon as you get past Sr. Member imo. Smiley It's mostly the fact that you start realizing you're slowly getting into the rank groups where there are some members you have always looked up to. Otherwise, nothing much. It feels like an eternity for a shitposter to get rankups, but once you get how it works and stay here for the community & not for bounties/campaigns, you should be doing fine.

I'm a newbie in this community, but in my research, i need to make a quality post. it can help to the other people to understand on this forum.
I do not consider this a quality post but I am giving you merit so it could be a reason for you to keep motivated to learn in this forum. This is one way I think to help newcomers in this forum keeping them away from shitposting.

Be an asset of this forum and not a liability. Just always remember that words.

Ranking up with this forum is such a good feeling, it makes you feel good whenever you rank up with this fun because it is considered as your achievement because you have work for it for many years, you put effort and time for it so you deserve to be happy when you rank up with this forum. Forum ranks show how good are you so if you have a high rank, you are really good and you already gain so much knowledge and experience here. As of my current rank, I can say that I am not that so good as others because I am still learning, there are still many things that I don't know.
The onus is on merit sources to distribute merits fairly to any post of what I'll call standard quality...
The merit system makes this forum so good and cannot be compared to other forums, it makes us put effort and time to the post that we are going to create, it also builds so many good characteristics.

While more you grow you open more doors in this environment. The people don't trust in a new account but they trust in the old ones because they already have enough time to fuck it up, and if they don't do it is because they are focused in the right way.

I'm very happy, if rank go up. This means the post is useful for some people in this forum. This is happiness and pride. I learned from the senior post. Merit system is very influential for this forum, just look at this time, many quality posts in this forum.

If you're here for the content: It feels as insignificant as having your birthday. While you might somewhat celebrate it, in the end, nothing changes. You're just a bit older.

If you're here to make money: Somewhat a bit like a job promotion.

But yea, good luck ranking up if like 95% of your posts are concerning bounties.

You do, however, spend a lot of time on bounties and I'm not against that but you might want to try and make more posts in bitcoin related sections if you want to rank up but you might want to search for the reason you want to rank up here first?

If you continue with good intent then it will be easier to rank up, I wouldn't keep trying to search for it though if you are doing because it's possible to overdo stuff if you're not natural and are just trying to rank up it may look obvious...
