Unfortunately, ther is nt much that you or anyone else can do to scammers. Thing is, you have to be more watchful so as to not fall prey. The world is getting more corrupt by the day one has to be increasingly careful than before. I advcoe that you become watchful and check the credibility of ICO's you invest in

If projects sound too good to be true they usually are, f*ck the scammers though, scum of the earth.

Do proper research on the ICO before you invest, and don't be too greedy for lucrative offer , it is better to afford what you can afford to reduce the risk

The easiest way to recognize them is to do research. but first you should consult those people who have encountered such frauds. this can be very useful.

Its difficult for people wanting to get into ICO'S, it is difficult to know what is
real and wgat is a scam, and the scammers know that. The trouble with naming
the scammers is that it can take a while to figure out what is a scam and it
means the scammers can make off with their reward.

The only way is to not get into any ICO's, play it safe but this would hurt the
legitimate orojects also.

If you have just fallen for a scam, you shouldn't feel embarrassed. It can happen to anyone. Scammers are constantly refining their scams to make them as effective as possible. They know what works and what doesn't. Victims of scams don't always report when they've been conned because they feel embarrassed for having fallen for a scam.It can be hard to bring scammers to justice because of the difficulties associated with tracking them down. Scammers often cover their tracks by using fake or stolen identities, coupled with anonymizing Internet services, spoofed e-mail addresses, and disposable phone numbers. however, here are some tips you have to know and do when being scammed;

File a Police Report

File a Fraud Victim Statement"(a.k.a Extended Fraud Alert) with the 3 Major Credit Bureaus; (Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax)

Consider a "Security Freeze" of Your Credit Reports

Update Your Anti-malware Software and Scan Your Computer

Call Your Credit Card Company or Bank Immediately After You Realize That You've Been Scammed

i hope his few tips could help

Scammers will be found all around and nothing could change the reality as everything is happening through the internet connectivity. We need to be cautious understanding the reality and get rid of scammers finding them. Very few has got the tendency to find the scammer from his conversation itself. It is good to report finding them, so that others too will get benefited.

Scam was and will be wherever possible. What can we do with the scammers? Nothing, they are not so stupid that they could be caught (except for some). It's only in your power to look carefully where you invest money.

The only thing you could do is filing a lawsuit against them if you can afford the expenses and if they are within the same jurisdiction that can impose fraud laws on them, however, I doubt that anything would come out of this. Online, your investing is your own responsibility. Doing your part will enhance the chance of not getting scammed, though it won't prevent it entirely.

Its so hard to file lawsuits because those guys will go and hide. So we should be really careful about investing this days, those scammers are hard to detect and because they know they can hide (at least) from authorities because market is free and unregulated. Hope though that few who have been found guilty should spend jail time.

We're watching a scam ICO on the forum here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.44620103

With a bunch of shills posting it's a "great project" because they want to cash out the airdrop and bounty tokens.

It's 100% obvious that no ICO should change their whitepaper and protocol mid-ICO but since there are no rules or standards it's like the wild west for investors currently. Just don't invest in ANYTHING until all of money dries up for scammers to have any incentive to waste peoples time.

Great question.

(1) Use common sense...don't buy into deals that are too good to be true.

(2) Report the likely scams in the Scams and Accusations board

(3) Warn others if you've been the victim to a scam.

If we keep looking out for each other we'll all succeed.

This I find often when the ICO can buy a credible 5 * points easily. I've been tricked by a lot of scams and lost a little bit of ETH but in return I got the rutsra experience needed to participate in an ICO. Before joining I need to consider many things of that ICO such as WHITELIST, pp, ..

I think that if you have been engaged in crypto currency for at least one year, then at least once during this time you had to deal with scammers. Currently, there are too many such projects. Investing is dangerous. Unless you are 100 percent sure that the team that stands behind the project is real and professional. It seems to me that this should be regulated precisely at the level of legislative acts. And not one country but many states. Otherwise, we all will face this for a very long time.

There are scammers every where both in real life business and online business, it is in your place to be careful before investing in any business because it will be very difficult to retrieve your money when it is gone.
