The best way is to keep scummer list (btw there is still no united list for all scummers with names etc) and ofc try to attach police attention, because scummers must be in a jail.

I also invest a lot if scams, its because im new at crypto that time but now I know if the ICO legit or not. I am also asking for assistance to others to be sure also. But even seems legit if the project fails then it will be scam. Lets keep in mind to invest money you can afford to lose.

The only thing you could do is filing a lawsuit against them.
This I find often when the ICO can buy a credible 5 * points easily.
I've been tricked by a lot of scams and lost a little bit of ETH but in return I got the rutsra experience needed to participate in an ICO.

Yeah it most cases there are scams thats why new investors are quitting maybe in the future ICO need to work with there government to list them as a legit ICO before they can run tokensale to remove risk of being scam

Even you know scammer but no one can punish them because we have no law protect. In VietNam, we have a scammer that scam 30M$, you can search IFAN on Google, all investor know scammer but he still free now.

That's their business scamming people and we can't do nothing about it we only need to prevent in joining one of those because they stay anonymous in the cyber world and the only way we can do is to prevent them and alert some people about scam projects i fall in some scam projects many times but now i learn from it.

The first step and most important is prevention, you can read the whitepaper they provide and then look the track record of the people on the team. You can also find out or ask questions while discussing scams in this forum, especially in Scam Accusations, unless you’re lazy to read.

Well, mass awareness is the only option to combat these scammers. To be honest, the lack of awareness is the only capital scammers have to execute their scams. Bitcoin and entire crypto industry is still new and that's the reason why scammers are able to execute their scams with little efforts. Doing on research before making an investment decision is the highly recommended activity as we always say "Prevention is better than cure".

The rapid development of technology has made many openings. How to avoid scams from the cryptocurrency market? I think there should be some kind of alert software or something to control fraud.

I saw 70-80% ico are scam which are not reliable .they do smart work and making projects by invester and advisers and after not giving token ,making scami .what to do with them. Have you ever fallen in scams ? I am fallen some time .
I have never fallen and hopefully not. Because i mostly join the bounty rather than invest on ICO.

I think there is nothing we can do as a member here to punish a scammers, because there is no regulator that regulates that.

Maybe what need we do is to be more careful when joining an ICO. And if we fall in scam project dont forget to post in this thread to warn the other.

Our success against scammers depends on how we can remind each other.

I did fall for a couple scams when i first started in crypto. The scammers make promises of high returns and easy rewards that can play with your emotions. But even though it sounded too good to be true, i went against my better judgement. And unfortunately, sometimes you have to learn the hard way before you can change your thinking. I'm a lot more skeptical now when it comes to ICOs and even Airdrops but the best thing you can do is research every aspect of the project and see what other people are saying about it before you dive in!

No, you are saying wrong. Not the %80 ICO scam, %80-90 ICO's are unsuccesfull thats all. I can say %10 ICO's at most scam. I wish that everything were same like year of 2016.. All the ICO's were fine and after ICO your investment would turn at least x2-x3.. But now it's terrible..

You know how many ICOs are simple SCAMs and how many in % are just projects who fail? Because I dont think that if project fail he give back money.

I believe in karma and people that do evil things like this always get whats coming to them.  I try to not let it bother me and let the universe sort everything out.

As of now, we cannot catch the scammers. Or even if we do, we cannot really prove anything. But, if we check the team authencity, roadmap of the ICO, the community groups of that very ICO and analyze ourselves, we might be able to identify shady ICOs that are most likely to scam us in the future.

I've also experienced something like you, but I have invested little in the ICO project, even though I invested a little, but I was very disappointed with the project I invested in. now I also see that many ICO projects this year have been scams, so I have to be more careful in investing because I am afraid of losing again.

I have been deceived a lot, ICO and bounty missions, but I think ICO is an option, we can reduce our losses from fraud by reducing investment or prohibiting investment in ICO!
I think just because a lot of projects ico becomes a scam then you reduce your investment in it. not ico you have to stay away from,
but your ability must be honed so you can do better analysis and research so you can know which potential ico project..

What to do now is to be very vigilant in all forms of messages you receive and read widely.
