Do some light stretches before you sleep. Do the exact same things right before going to bed. Also try to stick to the same sleeping schedule and eventually you will wake up at the same time, without needing an alarm. I have also found the software "Flux" has helped my sleep patterns.

I don't need to use tricks, somehow it's very easy for me to get sleep.
Just lay in my bed, close my eyes and let dreams take me away
that means that you need probably 10 sec to fell asleep? Cheesy

Stick to the same bedtime and wake up time, even on the weekends and avoid heavy meals in the evening.

Nothing, just start to watch tv laying on my bed and within 2 minutes I'm off, mainly because I am really exhausted.

If you're like me, sleep time is when all the day's stresses flood your brain and sometimes make it difficult to fall asleep. I've found that counting numbers (1+2 = 3 + 3 = 6 +4 = 10 etc etc) is distracting and has a soothing effect. If that fails, alcohol always helps.

What methods are you guys using?

I hit myself in the head with the other end of a 1 meter thick magnetic iron rod.
Needless to say, it always works.  Cheesy

a nice indica that couch locks you.
I've found a form of meditation helps me, sort of like counting numbers.
edit to add: get away from bright lights too before bed. for example your computer monitor.
