I'm a newbie and I use Electrum. So far it's working as expected.
Simple, lightweight, and I've read stuff that says it's secure as well.

Pretty sure web wallet like blockchain is still being the most used wallet these days. Simple because it is easy to use and perhaps it is the first web bitcoin wallet and very trusted. On other hand, my first bitcoin wallet is an exchange wallet but now I prefer to use xapo because no fees and mycelium wallet on my android phone.

I mostly use a web wallet and that is blockchain.info to be exact because I like their feature where you could send btc to multiple addresses in one transaction. I have been using other wallets like mycelium the mobile version for quite a while, it serves as my backup funds if blockchain goes down.

Am using blockchain.info for both my web and mobile wallet as its the most convenient for me.
And for all my altcoins I have stuck to desktop wallets.

Alot of people prefer web applications over desktop applications. A major factor why these people have this preference is accessing web applications is more convenient than having to use the desktop version. This fact pulled a trend in every areas in which trend web applications are replacing desktop applications. But in crypto, desktop wallets are more appreciated. What could be the reason of this paradox between the two trends? Privacy, security?

Use two wallets. Hot and cold. Hot wallet can be online/mobile, only keeping enough bitcoin in it that could be deemed "spending cash". You keep the rest in a cold wallet, deemed your "savings account". It's the best solution I've seen thus far.
Yes, but why do you use two of them? Is it because you don't trust web-wallets like on blockchain or there is some other reason for that? As for me, desktop wallet is inconvenient, because you don't have access to it without your computer (or additional programs need to be installed for that). I use just the web-wallet, because I find its security system reliable and maybe also because I don't have much money in bitcoin.

It's just a security thing. Keep your life savings on a cold wallet, spending cash on a hot wallet. I like multi sig paper wallets for cold storage. Makes it so there is close to 0% chance my life savings gets hacked, whereas all any online wallet has to do is disappear like MtGox did and there goes all your money.

If you care about convenience why not a mobile wallet on your smartphone? You can easily use it for online purchases with QR codes, plus you can take it with you, have your bitcoin on you, and spend bitcoin at any store you may go to! So for me the best solution is actually a mobile wallet and a cold storage wallet.

I was using web based wallet only but now use also software. The reason i used web based wallet is that in hurry and lack of knowledges it was more easy for me. Websites are usualy easy to use for routine and newbies. But as you know the adage says: if you don't own the keys you don't own the bitcoins. It is also good to learn how things you are involved in, work.
I have never tested paper wallet still, hopefully i take a look at it in the following weeks Sad

I'm surprised to see that web wallets are in the first place, I was using Coinbase when I was a newb until I realised that I had no control over my money if I am not holding the private keys. Now I use a hardware ledger wallet to store my Bitcoins and a lightweight desktop (Electrum) to send and receive small payments.

I thought web wallet or online wallet is less secure, can be hacked, you do not have control over your private keys and yet it is the most used wallet. Aren't they afraid they lose their bitcoins someday?

My first wallet was blcochain.info and that wallet is good, I never had any issues with them. Occasionally I still use that wallet when I test some service or I need to receive some payment for the first time.
Except that wallet I have one hardware wallet and there I keep my coins or gather before I cash out. I'm satisfied with hardware wallet, and I will not change it.

I always use online wallet.Xapo & coinbase is my favourite wallet. But now xapo cherging fees for transaction. So I like to use coinbase only.I am not a gambler so I have no problem using coinbase.

Yes, Xapo and Coinbase is for me best choices. I have not used Xapo for a long time, and I did not know that now charging a fee there. Also, I expect in soon from Coinbase to start charge fee.
when I have a greater amount of bitcoin, probably will use desktop wallet

But I didn't see anywhere they mentioned about the transaction fees. Also, they don't show you how much they charge for each transaction, so I don't know whether they are charging fees. I too use it XAPO for routine transactions because they don't charge any fee and transactions are quite fast.

Both coinbase and previously XAPO did not charge the fee but then again there was tradeoff. They do not give you the private key associated with your account. What it means is that they can run away anytime with your money. So my advice is to always keep it on your hardware wallet.

The majority of the people here use Web Wallet, and it's reasonable because web wallet is easy to use and not that complicated to start with. But I don't really agree with the idea that web wallet is the best wallet you should ever use, it's not because of the unsecured or the lack of security of it, I just don't really like keeping my Bitcoin without the access to my private key. Cuz as you know, there seems no more web wallet the gives access to the users of their own private keys (Or there is?).

Type of wallet for which I use the most is the web wallet, namely Coinbase. Since I known Bitcoin I've used it, it's pretty convenient. All transactions are made easy . What I like most is its not charged. I also installed it on the phone to use when no PC or out.
However the use of the web also take risks because of theft, I used the 3-layer security through gmail and phone number in order to reduce risks.

I have never used wallets other than blockchain.info, users suggested me to use this. Once after experimenting I can select the safest of all. Till now on using blockchain wallet I feel that my bitcoins were safe.

Yeah coinbase does not support gambling so it is really annoying if you are a Bitcoin gambler. However, it is not very safe to use online wallet because the third party is holding your money, not yourself. If you plan to stay in Bitcoin for a long time, you should learn how to use other kinds of wallet
regards

Why the hell in the first place a gambler will use Coinbase for their transactions? Likely they are one of the users that didn't reading terms and agreements and just registering thinking it's a freedom and decentralized. And will surprise if ever Coinbase did some actions to them that has some basis like the one you mentioned, using for gambling.

Most of the people didn't know that once they use the service on an online exchange, it will not be decentralized as they like. That's why it's annoying to see some persons here that complaining about why the hell exchange needs identity of a users.

I'm using web wallet as of now because it is easy to access when I have transaction online and it is only a small amount but when the time comes that I need to do big transaction or let say I have big amount of  to stack then I will use electrum light wallet on my desktop they say it is the best offline light weight wallet on pc.
ofcource man for small amount of bitcoin like less than 1 or exacly 1 the online wallets are the best one to use because they are easy to access for investing bitcoin for they future you may use desktop wallet because it is much more save than online.....
For small amounts it would really be convenient to use web wallets because you could make transaction onlines with ease and no hassle. Small amounts would be okay to store on web wallets since it wont hurt you too much if those bitcoins would be lost but if we are holding hundreds of bitcoin then we should really use hardware wallet or desktop wallets.
