if this nightmare happens then it is definitely the price condition of all cryptocurrency including altcoin prices will fall because there will be many traders who try to save their assets quickly and I really hope this nightmare does not happen for the good of the traders.
The decline that occurred certainly had a negative impact on the cryptocurrency market. like in the end of 2018 at which time the price experienced a decline that was deep enough so that people could indeed take the momentum to invest in the cryptocurrency market

I think if it only goes back to $5,000 then more than likely the only thing that will happen is money will come out of the alt coin market cap as well and the price would lower on all of them at the same time. However, if it crashed to below $1,000 again, I think we would probably have a problem. It would be a good opportunity for another coin to come and claim the top spot. More than likely Ethereum would take over as king.
Fortunately for us bitcoin will never go below 1000, those days are gone, but supposing it happened then I find unlikely that another coin will take over the market, after all most coins are using a similar technology than the one bitcoin is using, why bitcoin will go down that much and another coin that is similar will take control of the market, besides while ethereum is a good project it does not have a limit in the amount of coins and it cannot be a store of value like bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the face of cryptocurrency. It is king and all altcoins without fiat pairings are paired to BTC. When BTC is bearish, it most likely means the entire Cryptocurrency market is bearish. Bitcoin has the best risk adjusted return and is the safe haven in the event of the crash - people are sure it will be a coin that will survive and so many convert their alts to minimize their risk exposure. Many traders may cash out to fiat too, causing them to panic sell alts to BTC and then cashing out, causing a bigger slump in altcoins/BTC prices.

On the other hand when BTC is very bullish, traders see no need to buy alts because by buying alts with BTC you are by default shorting BTC, greatly increasing your chance of loss. They see no need to risk altcoins just for slightly better returns.

No, altcoins won't be able to recover independently of bitcoin if bitcoin were to crash to $5000 (or even lower).  They're all priced in bitcoin, so they're going to follow whatever it does.  I also have the feeling that if bitcoin crashes, altcoins will be hit even harder because people will start to lose confidence in them and will likely sell in a panic.  It's happened before and can happen again.

All of that aside, I don't think bitcoin is headed much lower, tho obviously I cannot say this with certainty.  It seems to be holding up pretty well right now and is just trading in a narrow range.  Eventually when it forms a trend I think it'll go higher rather than lower...but we'll see about that.  It could be months before that happens.

Altcoin will crash and Holders have more time to hold.
That is a sweet word for bag holders  Cheesy.

Nowdays many token based ETH the price down almost 90% or more from ICO price, and if this is happen maybe many of them will gone from crypto market.
All the ICO market crashed and all the people behind those projects made a ton of money and left the scene, these were basically scams in broad light and there is no one to question any of these actions and hence the governments around the world is trying hard to control the market.

@OP if the bitcoin market crashes then all the entire altcoin market crashes alongside.

In my opinion altcoins would also crash because most traders will likely go for stable coins or would gamble and use the leverage trading.

But I predict the price of Altcoin will rise again because the dominance of Bitcoin over the market price has decreased so create an opportunity for Altcoin. Unfortunately currently the dominance of Bitcoin still persists and the price of Altcoin is also still weak.

Want top-notch marketing for your project, Hire me
My opinion is that if Bitcoin falls to the level of $5000, then all highly capitalized altcoins will also follow it. They tend to always go for Bitcoin. Only in rare exceptions, on the eve of any important update of the project, the coin can grow in price in spite of Bitcoin.
Despite the fact that altcoin market follow the price of bitcoin market when the halving is coming but you're wrong buddy because not all altcoin will follow the price of bitcoin if it crashes to the mentioned price range for the stable altcoin will gain some slightly surge in price for it will be the next saviour for people in the market.

Agree with your opinion, let alone until it drops to that price. when bitcoin falls below just $ 10K, it has a lot of influence on other altcoins. It is undeniable that altcoin is still affected by the movement of bitcoin, only a few altcoins and relatively small that is not affected by bitcoin.

There's no more hope with those ERC20 tokens. Some are still alive and kicking but many of them have been eliminated to the market. They have still some market cap but their total volume is completely out of this world and what I mean with that is a dead volume.
ETH is down but I still see it as a remaining coin that can survive from this assumed another bear market that we have right now.

I think if bitcoin crash no coins will be stable because almost every coins has btc pair. So, altcoin price will be drop also.
I've heard from many people, altcoin price will be stable or up when bitcoin price is also stable

it is certain that altcoin prices will definitely turn red and many traders lose because of many falling altcoin prices, hopefully this nightmare will not happen, and I think it is currently difficult to make bitcoin prices fall so cheaply as it approaches the halving that will happen soon.
It is indeed because once btc price declined somehow altcoins followed. People focus on accumulating some btc at that stage they could have the chance to buy so when it recovers they can have a profit. Hard to predict what will happen moving forward let’s hope for the best in altcoin market that it can recover soon.

And also a chance to buy bitcoin and altcoin again.thats the advantage of the price of bitcoin crashes to $5k or below

Everyone that does not bought in early part of 2019 when the prices are very cheap now their frustration will end up and take the opportunity to buy again

we can get the opportunity when we do not lose the moment to sell the assets we have before going down or at the best price. the decline in bitcoin will have a devastating effect on all assets and the crypto market. if we lose the moment or be late, we may be frustrated and panicked because a lot of our money is reduced.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
if btc goes back to 5000 $ it's simple then alt will follow it or maybe worse, we all know that only the top few alts will survive while shitcoin will disappear.
and usually for alt which drops above 90% will be difficult to return.

I think if Bitcoin dropped to rate of $5,000 then the price of Altcoin would not be too affected due to the fall in the price of Bitcoin. Lately we can see the Altcoin market has started to grow by a few percent when the price of Bitcoin goes down, but will the price of Bitcoin drop to $5,000? I think that's difficult to happen at this time.
But that’s different story if bitcoin fails that big ,surely altcoins will be affected and may drop lower again just like recently

Who knows? But if it does happens, there will always be the probability that people may start to turn their interests on Altcoins with unique features and more use cases and start increasing on their holdings - giving a much needed push to its value in the end.
Or it can also be with Bitcoin crashing down, most Altcoins may follow suit and fall straight down the bin.
Either way, anything is possible. We just can never tell.
Ha ha! Where do you see that happening again, if bitcoin drops to $5000, it means people are dumping and if they can dump bitcoin, what would make them invest in altcoin that they no longer find funny again. You already observe how bitcoin decline affects some altcoins, and how its increases also affect some altcoins too.

It means that the more bitcoin declines, the more it is possible for some coin to even go as low as zero when bitcoin turns to that $5000. The good news is that, I really don’t see anything that will turn bitcoin to $5000 again, bitcoin has already grown past that stage and I think that the next value of bitcoin will be growing towards achieving the year's all time high of $13 to $15k on or before the year ending, I think $5000 is totally not feasible anymore.

Yeah, somewhat the price of the altcoins depends on the BTC but I don't think they would hardly be affected if the price of BTC drops to 5k$. The altcoins have started to grow separately and this we had already experienced this year only, when the whole market was down, BNB hyped rapidly irrespective of the price of BTC. So, I don't think that BTC would be regulating the alt-market in the future...

Campaign Management?"Hhampuz" is the Man
I don't think many alts would recover against Bitcoin if this happens and so they will crash even more. Some solid alts with good liquidity like Litecoin may recover but most won't recover in my opinion. Thoughts? Undecided
just like what happen in the last quarter of 2018,when bitcoin crashes to that Low the altcoins follows.and isn't the same scenarios everytime that this Top 1 currency falls?

but atleast our chance to buy again is indeed.

i have added 2 alts last september and planning to add again this month, maybe i will do this until december if the Bullrun don't start soon
