Alts were better when BTC around 3.2 K – 4K. While BTC running to the 12K and hit 14K, all alt coins are crushed. Traders waited recovery at alt coins but BTC never gave permission to alt coins.
Alt coins finding new all time laws every week. If BTC will drop to 5K, we will see completely red and bloody market. We will new all time lows and it will bot be easy to recover.
If BTC can find strong resistance and support at 5K – 5.5K and become stable for a couple of weeks, than we can see green market and recovery of alt coins.

I don't think many alts would recover against Bitcoin if this happens and so they will crash even more. Some solid alts with good liquidity like Litecoin may recover but most won't recover in my opinion. Thoughts? Undecided
I think $5000 for Bitcoin isn't called a crash but a small correction only. What defines a crash for Bitcoin is that if it goes back to its previous lows of $3000 and a possibility that it can go lower up to $1-1.5K.

For me, if Bitcoin crashes just don't visit the sites where you see the prices of coins anymore because you will feel....... you know it.

yes you're right, but still the price of $5k bitcoin is also a problem. this can make altcoin fall very deep. we can see yesterday when bitcoin fell from $10K to $8K. all red altcoin and the average has decreased between 15-25%. so if bitcoin goes back to $5k, there are lots of altcoins that are destroyed.

If bitcoin crashes up to 5000 $ it's a disaster for altcoin. Altcoin has not had time to go up but has been squashed again with bitcoin.
Even good Altcoin won't survive and will come down dramatically too. And other altcoins will die. And this will make many investors lose money and do not rule out the possibility of altcoin investors will switch to bitcoin.

If that should happened, it will be so disastrous and it will affect all other altcoin, whereby making many altcoin to disappear and  lose it's value and potential totally. If bitcoin should crash it won't exceed below $8k which will not happen

although the possibility is small but if bitcoin falls to $5k. it has been confirmed that many altcoins have died. maybe almost 45% of altcoins that are now on the market will fall to 0. it will probably be the apocalypse for altcoin. Large altcoins such as ETH, LTC, BNB, XRP and EOS will also be heavily affected. maybe they will fall half the price.

They will follow the same fate of bitcoin. That is, they will also start dropping very badly. If the price of bitcoin starts to drop due to negative rumors, the price of alt coin will also start to drop since people will start to cash out everything to avoid any further loss. This dump will cause further dumping as people will start to panic as they watch the price fall. This doesn't end here. Now since the price of bitcoin is at the bottom, people will now invest on bitcoin, thus they start to sell their altcoin and invest everything on btc thus causing the price of altcoin to further dive down.
Altcoins situation are not different from the way they were when bitcoin was still around $5000, and when it drops now back to that level, I still would not see the possibility of it having effect on altcoins except the top altcoins.

most of the altcoins that we have are almost going to zero, and imagine bitcoin is cut by half, what would they decline to again than for them to disappear from the market, but I don’t think they still have the strength to decline, and when bitcoin drops to $5000, I only see it causing a very big pump because that would be a very cheap price for people and whales to comes in as  far as the dumping was not as a result of people’s negative reaction to let's say a government's policy or news from them.

I didn't expect that it would happen. In 2018 Bitcoin can reach $5,000 and you should know that the impact on the altcoins is very negative. All the altcoins have declined and many investors are out of the market.
Such conditions do not want to happen again this year and further. We are now more focused with trading, investing and Bounty campaigns. Many people who predict the Altcoin season, maybe happening by the end of this year and the year 2020.

It is unlikely that BTC will crash back to $5000, at least in the near future, but if this happened it will affect the prices of altcoins, or most of them, badly. We noticed many times that altcoins markets are still depending on the BTC market and price, so if BTC price decrease the prices of the altcoins will go down too.

That will be the most common scenario that will likely to happen if bitcoin crashes. Anyway, not even in 5k level, even at price levels where bitcoin slowly decrease its price, the price of alts also decrease. So we can see this trend even not in 5k price level. I won't be surprised when that price movement happens.
I have seen many cases which price of the altcoins increase while Bitcoin price decreases and you can check the historical charts for confirmation. The consolidation between price of the BTC and altcoin is not fully known to the crypto community yet and these correlations are the example of how people treat the altcoins as anticipate to the BTC price. The response of the altcoins is always laggy to the price movement of the Bitcoin, $5000 price will be a shock hummer for most of the altcoins. In global markets, each financial asset has anyhow correlation between the bigger ones, it is also the same correlation between the Bitcoin and the altcoins.
Not all the times because price can either be correlated anytime or not between alts and BTC itself. We do able to see for how many times that if BTC drops alts drop too but there were instances where if btc drops then alts uprise. It depends on how the community decide to switch up either they do pour funds to alts or would simply keep their investment safe with stable coins or with fiat and that's why we cant really presume anytime that those correlations will happen depending on what we are seeing. It can crash but we wouldn't know on what would be the next move. For now we cant really say that btc cant crash wayback too $5000 but there would always be a possibility since its only -50-60% at the current price at the moment.

It's obvious that Bitcoin is back at $5,000, all the coins will experience a sharp decline and include Litecoin. But of course, everyone doesn't expect it to happen. Although the current conditions are difficult to predict, I am better to focus my trades and bounty hunters.

I only argue that maybe the value of Bitcoin is now no longer going down sharply. Because the Altcoin season has not come. I hope that by the end of the year 2019, can give a big surprise.

If that so, some altcoins may have zero market value and really dying but only those useless coins only.
We still have potential altcoins left in the market and for their long market existence, I have no doubts that they will survive for a possible bear season to come. Not to think that it will happen this year but it is much possible to happen again in the coming days.

It didn't cross my mind that the price of bitcoin would drop back to $5,000. Because until now bitcoin price movements have begun to stabilize.
And if that really happens, then I can't imagine what will happen to altcoin, because altcoin price movements always follow the flow of bitcoin price movements.
It didn’t cross your mind because you don’t see the possibility of that which I don’t see the possibility of bitcoin dropping low to that again because right now, all that is coming into the market is more money and I don’t see reason why bitcoin should be stagnant at this moment and them make a reversal for that $5000.

I am not doubting that we will see this rice gain once more in future, but that would be after the new all-time high, because once the ATH is set, people will surely start selling their coins for the profit and this must surely crash the value back to something that low, except maybe the next bull run will get us to $100,000, that time, there is no amount of dumping that will ever make us see that $5k value again, maybe the last we will be talking about then is $20k.

Well if the be back to $5000 maybe some alts also be drop the price. Even do the price of bitcoin for now its on $10000 but some altcoins also not moving or increasing the price a little bit. We hope some altcoins will be recover or followed by bitcoin for increasing the price so that we can sell some of our altcoins we have.

It maybe not this year as we are more than a half far from $5k and also we pretend to see bull run again. But how about next year? No assurance that Bitcoin will remain what it has today or it maybe it drops down below $5k just like it happens early this year. I know are not be hoping like that but the possibility will be there and we already experience it some times.

maybe there will be no more place for altcoin. only altcoin that has a large marketcap will survive. and maybe this will have an impact on the overall crypto trade.
There will be a remaining place for altcoins but it won't be wide as before, where most of the altcoins that just came in also become popular and has a decent market cap because people believe in each project to be good. Well this is before.

Now, it has changed. Many don't want to take the risk anymore with such projects and altcoins. And while others are learning, there's still plenty of people that don't learn from that experience.

no one will buy again if bitcoin falls below $5k again.
Buy alts or bitcoin? it's a small amount and for sure there will be traders and investors rushing to buy at that bottom.

If we could see how altcoins are crying when Bitcoin price at $3k early this year? This will be the same and they still are crying.
Of course, high volume and liquidity coins will survive but those coins that are sleeping already will be totally dead sooner. This is what the market moves right now and I should have to put money to a thing could we could rely on the next ten 10 years or more.
For long term investing, choosing the high-rank altcoins will be more profitable but the limitations are not trader-friendly. The surviving coins will not see the dip points but the small market cap altcoins can go lower than the all-time low prices. Bitcoin price will not go to the $5000 unless the market demand changes with bad news. The altcoins will follow the any trend with the BTC chart, we need to find the gold average between the price of the Bitcoin and altcoins.

The worst season will come back if Bitcoin becomes as you say. We know that many people who currently start investing in a number of coins have the potential. People are increasingly excited to trade on Bitcoin. And everyone is now hoping that with increasing Bitcoin will have a tremendous impact on altcoins.

But hopefully Bitcoin still continues to grow and the Altcoin season hopefully can happen like 2017.
