What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?

Well, that would be hard . Because most of us rely on using bitcoin. I mean most of us is working using bitcoin . If government or your own country, this will be bad. Think about the posibilities about this one. Bitcoin Society will be down. Bitcoin users will stop and look for another job to do. Because bitcoin is now on our society.

Honestly, I don't believe in such scenario.
World today is very divided and in conflict.
Do you really think that EU and Trump can agree about anything?
Or Putin and EU?
Iran and America?
I don't think so.
They all have very different political and economical interests in the world and I don't believe in unique decision about bitcoin.
Some countries may try to ban bitcoin but I don't believe it's realistic and possible.
They can't close Internet or control each citizen on Internet, no way.
I'm more worried about possible tax for bitcoin income.

i myself do not think that bitcoin is going to be banne, bitcoin will continue as digital currency and hope that the government willl also consider it as legal currency.
yes that is a fact that bitcoin is not going to be banned, because bitcoin is becoming more and more popular as time passed. hope that very soon bitcoin will be use  by all the people of the world.

I am also confident that bitcoin can not be banned. This is technologically impossible. But you can prohibit or impose large taxes converting bitcoin into a fiat currency

I think if goverment can control all transaction - bitcoin will be alive, another no chance

If bitcoin was banned, there would be mass protests all over the world. Bitcoin community will retaliate by hacking government websites and shutting down their servers.
I think the mass will not be able to do anything if the government do that. in fact the Government may be more severe if you protest, perhaps a law on the use of bitcoin. like in prison if still using bitcoin

The member of bitcointalk will still be here even when bitcoins get banned. When bitcoin gets banned, most members will just look for another cryptocurrency. It's probably the second best coin. Right now it's the ETH that is in the top 2 of the highest market cap.

Bitcoin and the next big coin might not be exactly the same thing but it's alright since bitcoin and that second coin will surely have tons of similarities since all altcoins were made from the same concept bitcoin was built.

If at all governments miraculously impose a ban, it will be on all cryptocurrencies and not just Bitcoin. So people might not be able to shift from Bitcoin to Ethereum or any other alt.

If so, how are they going to ban a newly made cryptocurrency? Will they have a bot to automatically detect any new coins spreading online? Even when they make that, somebody will just make a new technology that's not connected to bitcoins or any other coins. His own cryptocurrency in his own network. That's surely not going to be detected by the government if he keep himself quiet. He can use that cryptocurrency to do transactions to his friends/colleagues. Other people will just do the same thing and just be obscure as they can be. It'll be like the same thing as black market of coins.

Overall, banning cryptocurrencies will be very hard since anyone can learn how to make his own.

If Bitcoin was banned then there wouldn't be any place for most of the community members from Bitcointalk to go. There is quite a few guys on this forum that I recognize from the old days and they're still talking about the same ol' stuff.
They could go to a Gold forum or another Currency discussion board but it wouldn't be the same thing.

As for Bitcoin, it wouldn't really matter if it's banned because Bitcoiners will just use it in underground shops and personally.

I wonder how will the government do a bitcoin ban, though. There's cyber crime law all over the world but bullies are still there because they can stay anonymous and the government doesn't give that much attention to that crime. The same thing might just happen to bitcoins because they are both online.

You cannot ever prevent people from using bitcoin no matter how hard you try. People will always find a way or another to continue using it. Trust me, the government can't stop people from using bitcoin or else the people will revolt and overthrow the government.

First of all that will never happen, as the governments in the world will never agree on such a ridiculous thing. And if ever that would happen, price would be so dam high that you could live all the rest of your life with one single bitcoin. But again, that will not happen, so do not worry.

I think that even if bitcoin is banned, people will keep using it. The ban can reduce the number of people for sometime but it can grow over time.
Due to the nature of bitcoin, it isn't easy for anyone to ban bitcoin.

Bitcoin has proven the success of block chain to the world. Block chain's finest experiment is bitcoin and it doesn't make any sense for anyone to ban bitcoin. Look at China, they have stated that bitcoin is people's right! USA has permitted it. Russia banned it later realized it wasn't a good move. Gradually, every government will recognize bitcoin and will acknowledge it's true power.

If it happened then i will not tell about this news to all of my friends and will sell my all of the bitcoins at the small low rate because in reality i have about 0.4 bitcoin which is a really a big amount  of bitcoin and aslso have a big value for my life .
But here iin my opinion this impossible to ban the bitcoin in my country because our country government directly saying that use bitcoin at your own risk , and we will nor resposible for any loss .
So indierctly bitcoin legal in my country .

If you mean illegal activity violate the law will go to jail I'd better not use bitcoin, If the government had already said illegal bitcoin we can't do anything else
I don't think something like that can ever happen and even it happens what is there to worry if you many sites like porn are banned around the world but you still see them functioning and making good profits , how because people break the law and use vpn and till now no one is even arrested for it

But i will not leave bitcoin ever i will remain inthe contact of bit6coin through yhe youtube like platform and will teach about the bitcoin to people of other countriesand will money .
