What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?
I don't think that would not happen i heard about some people they say that bitcoin is illegal, i don't know if it's true, but we still using it. But "banning" ? They would never do that because many bitcoin users will react and some of them it's a big problem.

lol i dont think so, i dont have any idea how they bann all world-bitcoin. Shuting down all internet connection? they cant bann btc man, illegal yes, but we still can do transaction inside our home. My country already make btc illegal, but i still earn and learn with bitcoin.
I wonder too on how they will work on that thing, they cannot easily ban bitcoin for such reason. I heard news that they use bitcoin for illegal yet the government did not do anything or say anything about bitcoin, because firstly it is not that recognized yet in our country.
it may be impossible if you want to be banned in bitcoin worldwide. but, the government could make it become illegal, and I think, it is the same thing by doing banned. Well, it probably would make the number of unemployed increased again. besides, the crime rate may be increased again. we do not know anyone who has invested money into bitcoin.

If bitcoin was banned, there would be mass protests all over the world. Bitcoin community will retaliate by hacking government websites and shutting down their servers.

"Mass protests" That's cute Cheesy . Given that we might be less than 1 million all around the world, most of us don't go outside and just play with our computer all the time, and most of us would be too lazy to care, there wouldn't be mass protest that's going to happen. Maybe there would be some but it would happen online, not in the real world.

Just to add, bitcoin community is not the same community as the black hat community. We might be able to hire some hacker but we can't pay them at all since bitcoin is banned (hypothetically).

I guess, this thing would not happen, because how things will be ban if at first it is not recognized by the government itself?

The government is aware of bitcoin long time ago. They just don't announce it in the media as it will just end up becoming a promotion of bitcoin. It would just spread the word.

Like here our country, only few of my countrymen knows about bitcoin, there is ATM for bitcoin like what other countries’ have, there is no restaurant accepting bitcoin as mode of payment, but I heard a news that here in our country the bitcoin was once used as payment on illegal activities.

Nothing new at that at all since fiat is being used as payment for illegal activities ever since. Every currency that's valuable enough will always be used for something shady.

It is hard to implement the ban thing to bitcoin dude, how can you ban something inside the internet? You can access it everywhere and anywhere and  anytime, I think it might happen but it takes time.

True. Online gambling and porn is restricted/banned yet we're still able to browse them like it's legal.

i am hopeful that bitcoin is not going to bane. because bitcoin is now one of the most important part of our life. people are entering in the world of bitcoin. people are now enjoying more good services from from bitcoin. therefore i do not think that any government is going to bane bitcoin. bitcoin is providing good facilities to the people and it is the need of the modern world and all the government have to admit the facts.

With marketcap around 14 billion USD, of course it would make a lot of people frustrated. We have to admit that the existence of the bitcoin contribute and drives the world economy. Many deals done with bitcoin so if banned surely will make many people stress.

we still have other cryptocurrency like litecoin dogecoin ethereum etc if bitcoin will be banned
so no need to worry about it if other crypto will be banned too it sign if we shoul back to our countries currency

But those alt coins are also depending its price with bitcoin so that is going to have a domino effect. So if bitcoin will be banned then those alt coins are going to be affected too but still it depends on how crypto people are going to take this or do some other alternatives to make bitcoin un-ban. But if there is no other choice, this is our last resort.

If they are going to ban bitcoins, they wouldn't ban bitcoins alone since there are altcoins. They would ban the whole crypto-currency instead to make sure that bitcoin users won't just migrated from one cryptocurrency to another. One problem that would arise to this law is the fact that we can create new cryptocurrencies again and again and again until they got tired of banning them. Anyway, we don't really have to problematize this since it's not yet happening and we don't have to anticipate it as well since it's kind of hard to implement right now. Bitcoin is just starting so yeahh.. The ban is quite far away.

Yeah of course there will be no way to stop Bitcoin once and for all. Bitcoin is anonymous and is protected by the hackers. Therefore, no one can harm Bitcoin. Bitcoin will live here forever as long as the internet keep working. My country also consider Bitcoin as an illegal goods and they do not let the citizen to have it

I don't think that's how things work because bitcoin is somehow like the leading child in a bunch of cryptocurrencies, the thing that people think of first when they hear about crypto coins, if bitcoin was banned, then there is hardly any ways for others to be legalised. Some places have prohibited bitcoin so we should hope that this won't happen to other areas.

If you mean illegal activity violate the law will go to jail I'd better not use bitcoin, If the government had already said illegal bitcoin we can't do anything else
But in here government is banning a thing which do not have any harm to their country but it gives benefits to their country and their citizens and with the adoption of bitcoin many people are getting their living and live peacefully. So in this case when government do not know about bitcoin and just ban it I do not think we have to follow it but we have to come up to them and have to tell them that bitcoin is a good thing for the country economy.

We are using already currencie that is considered as ilegal, or not recognized as currencie the way you wanna to look at bitcoin. The thing is the most of us doesnt care about what politicians has to say about bitcoin, if they legalize it it would be important but the fact they avoid bitcoin just shows they have a big problem in their hands, since the number of crypto currencie members is growing day by day.

well if bitcoin will totally considered to be banned or illegal by the government all over the world there will be many people who will be considered as a criminal as well . but I don't that all users will back out and stop using it, the more the government restrict the people the more these people will become stubborn and disobey the law especially those people who are using bitcoin since the earlier years.

Of course, but I don't think the government will ever do that. Why would they make bitcoin as illegal when it is just payment processor that would help us to transact fast and cheap. The illegal activities is not that rampant compared to in real world, bitcoin will make their job easy as we have a public ledger which provides all the information they need.

If bitcoin is banned, I do think that all other cyptocurrencies are nearing doomed or if not, it will banned too... But I know, some people could still have access to bitcoin even if it is being banned in a certain country... Totally banning bitcoin I think is not possible, not all the countries in the world has the same policy in things like this...  Smiley

Every citizen needs to abide of the laws regulated by their  government. In the case of bitcoin several other options were there to by-bass and use bitcoin. So banning bitcoin is possible but it can't be expected 100% effective in implementation among the users.
Yes, bitcoin gives the user anonimity. Although government banning bitcoin they can not prevent anyone to use bitcoin. It also proof that no one can rule bitcoin or the user. Thats my oppinion.
