It depends on how much you bought it. If you bought almost on high then I think it's better to sell and buy cheaper through time. And if you bought almost at the bottom, it seems to me that it's better to just wait. There is no right answer, it all depends on the individual situation.

Altcoins are potentially great investments because they have more chance to grow. Small value coins can easily double in price which compared to bitcoin doubling price, is very difficult. When altcoins dump, don't worry. As long as you did research and believe in the value of your coin then it should very soon go up again.
