Well, for me Airdrop is a new project or what we call it's ICO or Initail Coin Offering. By launching airdrop they promote the product in a forum by conducting a free registration it will attract to investors and bounty hunters to earn token before they go to manager to managed in bounty campaign.

Airdrops are basically ICO projects that want to increase their awareness to the public, and as an attraction they give out a small amount of their coin to those that participate in their campaign. Airdrops task mostly are giving your wallet address, telegram and twitter handler and follow tweet their campaign.
Some might even include a donation in return for some of their coins.

an AirDrop is a gift from the developers of a coin, they give you some free coin in exchange of some visibility, that’s a nice way to spread among the community a new coin. For example I participated at an airdrop of one ico and at the end I even bought a small bag from that ico. Just pay attenction to scams that ask your private key!!
By my own experience, I know that with such projects you have to be very careful, since a lot of them are fraudsters and you fulfill their conditions and you will not receive anything at the end.
In short, the team gives you a certain reward, and you can help promote and spread it. This is my understanding of airdrop.

Airdrop is a kind of ico that is giving away free tokens, in this kind of ico you have to be patient because it requires patience most especially when waiting for your tokens. If you want to join in an airdrop all you have to do is to fillup the form and make sure thst all your details there are correct most especially your wallet address and by that, wait for your tokens to be send in your wallet address.
