I know the question sounds stupid.

But my questions is, if i have 50k should i rather invest in bitcoin, ethereum or a other high market cap coin compared to a small market cap coin were i could almost own 0.1% if the coin supply is 1 billion and trades at 5 cent.

It should be much easier for the coin with a lower market cap to make much more gains than with Btc, right?

Well this is obviously and easy answer, of course you should invest in bitcoin, whether you are looking for long time investment or short term invesment, bitcoin is the best option for anyone wanting to make profit from the crypto currency market, considering how the market right now is flooded with shit coins and small cryptos, investing in them would not get you that much investment, even if you like invest in 50 coins they will not get you any profit compared to what bitcoin could give you.

Holding lots of coins requires a lot of capital to share in several coins, and also requires accurate skills and analysis.
I personally am not tempted to invest or hold lots of coins because I think it is risky and in some coins will suffer losses, I am more interested in holding a bitcoin which proved profitable even though I had to wait long and be patient but the results proved to be profitable.

There is no hard and fast rule that low satoshi coin will give you more profit or high marketcap coin will give you good profit. It depends upon the current market conditions. Sometimes keeping bitcoins may be more profitable and sometimes you would like to have your portfolio in altcoins.

If you have more amount of money, it is better to hold more coins. This way your portfolio will be divided and you will get profits from most of the coins.
Holding many coins from one source such as BTC while holding the same quantity coins from other source such as ETH will have great impact because the price difference of BTC and ETH is very big and even their price movements are also different. BTC enables you to make more profit so it work when you hold the BTCs in large quantity only then you will be able to make profit, do the same with ETH.

And then one day another pump-and-dump group pumps the market so high that you can sell everything and get instant profit. But so is that group, so it will be a battle, and in the end, you might ended up losing that big money of yours, for me it's a bigger risk, just saying.

It should be much easier for the coin with a lower market cap to make much more gains than with Btc, right?

Hard to say, because that is a altcoins that can easily be manipulated and even though you have the majority, there could be other forces out there that will try to ruin your plans by pushing up the price and then suddenly dumps everything.

Depends on the coins really. If you want to hold very few coins (I do) then you should be holding very famous and big coins, I have bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, nano and eos (looking into getting some dash as well). Which goes to show you that only nano is small and not really big but all others are great coins and big. I have a friend who has many coins including the ones I have and 10 more like ripple (which I hate but its big) and bitcoin cash, tron, cardano and some more.

The long story short if you are going to hold few number of coins but they are all bad coins then you are going to lose money, if you are going to hold a lot of coins and they are all bad you are going to lose money. If you hold few coins or a lot of coins but they are always great coins then you are going to earn money, it doesn't matter how many coins you invest into, it only matters if you invest into good stuff.

That will depend on what type of investment you are, you can invest in bitcoin but you must be prepared for the long term. Or you can invest in small coins in the hope of greater profits but also greater risks.
indeed bitcoin can provide a lot of benefits if you apply it with a long-term method, but the OP tries to find out which information is better to hold lots of coins or less coins, so I prefer to save a few coins that have potential and promising.
If you have chosen the right coin then you should not compromise of investing in it because it can be the way out to become a rich crypto trader. If you have the ability to buy more Bitcoins then you should not stop especially when the market is completely bear. However, you can also start buying on normal price because Bitcoin has the ability to touch the moon so ultimately you will become rich very soon.

We should always focus on a few coins which have huge potential in the market because it will be easy for you to manage what are specific updates and improvement are being done by the company. Focus on few and it will help you to increase your portfolio.

I think that depends on your capital's ability to buy and if you have a large budget, why do you only hold a few coins while in fact holding more coins will be very profitable. Adjustments and calculations will be the main thing to make an investment that will end well later.
This is a part of a strategy and profitability will depend on how you diversify things up and it will depend on your risk management if you can afford to buy some coins inspite on having the major ones
on hoping that it would give out possible profits later on when the market tends to reverse. It isn't a sure thing but there would always be a possibility on making money.

Depending on your capacity on coins to handle but you shouldnt put your fund to only one coin. Fewer coins are easier to manage but your source of income and odds will be limitted only to that. If you can control more coins then its better because it has a lower risk of dropping all at once.

It's better to hold fewer coins as long as it has the potential to grow in the future whereas holding lots of coins but with low possibilities and potential to gain investors in the future. It's like you were holding lots of stone instead of holding those rare gems which is more valuable than those stones that you were holding.
Fewer and better, better have coins that have potential and at the same time we're able to managed. It's hard to have many coins and then will just hold it but not been able to get updates and happenings on such coin. We must have time to read teams update so we can decide on when to sell or to buy more of that coin.

When it comes to possible gains then shitcoin can give that out but when it comes to security then I would go for established coins.

Just a common sense will already help out on which one you would choose but well its your own money so it would depend on which one you would prefer.

Right, that's why you must think to divide it into 50%:50%

Or to give more guarantee for your portfolios and just try to put more amount to the major coin looks better consider if you can get a big pump and you can easily turn a hundred dollars into the thousand of dollars easily.

I just think that will be a wise decision for you.

I think it is better to hold many coins if your an investor, because if the other coin might get down you will still have other coin that is profitable, unlike having few coins, the more probability that you will loose everything if you put all your bet on few coins.

Its better to do mix up, but the proportion for high volume coins like btc or eth are bigger, btc and eth got a safety net, the price can't drop too low and it tends to bounce back, but because the price is already quite high it will be difficult to gain big profit, while not popular coin got bigger opportunity to make profit but with high risk, so by balancing both coins it could make your investment better
