The story will depends on the next President Election result in the USA. If Trump wins the election and he has chances to do some other fight against China, and get success, soon he will shed a green light for Libra and Facebook to bring its online.

The future of Libra will depend on the coming political (first) and economical changes in the USA. I see Trump intends to support Facebook.

It could be, but you have to remember that EU is also being hard on Facebook and Mark. We all know that he has a meeting with European Parliament 2 years ago and it didn't turn out well. Plus I believed that it Biden won the next Presidential race, he will be a total anti-crypto, so I don't know how it will benefited Mark Z there. So I would say that there is no future. If they want to enter the picture again, they should have first study the accusations against them and then make a solutions.

I do not expect much about the Libra project.  I think the market will not have a problem because the market is still running as usual, and the traders still trade on the other coins. If the Libra team is really serious about their project, they will continue working on that project while convincing their investors to support the project. If we look at the market situations, I think the Libra project still be like that because if the team is still trying to launch the project in these situations, it can be challenging for them to guard the project to survive.

There's a lot of critics about this project even if its just a plan so maybe Facebook is still working with this one and waiting for the right moment so they can fully introduce this platform into the market.

I didn't hear any news about this yet and hopefully that Facebook is still interested with this project, the whole cryptomarket will benefit on this one even if its not bitcoin. The regulation is the big threat for Libra, I hope they can find a place to operate legally.

If they are still pushing the codes on their Github and there have some updates still going through I think it's just a matter of time and some test from regulators until it gets proven. It has been redesigned but let's see if will push through some hurdles they are facing especially to regulators.

So far we don't know when the new Libra will be released, many have assumed that this project is already dead before it even comes out.
Personally, I think if the Libra project is launched maybe it will create a big driver for the crypto market, Facebook is a big company and they know how to advertise. If Libra were to be born, there would surely be a lot more people who knew about cryptocurrency.
Libra will be the same as USD currency, will not help to cryptocurrency. I think we will get Libra currency in the future, maybe the development team couldn't launch in due time. But I think Libra will be launched. Although I didn't find any information about why Libra takes a huge time. Now we know why new altcoins take a huge time to launch any new coin.

There are also rumours that Libra will never see the light of the day. What do you think?
Maybe Yes, As we know libra on mid 2019 have some serious concern they are have same problem with regulator Especially US and some partner if i'm not wrong was also leaving because how to Ensure AML Program if Libra was launched, Here https://www.wsj.com/articles/visa-mastercard-others-reconsider-involvement-in-facebook-s-libra-network-11569967023

But beside that there was also some rumor about Libra 2.0 (I read it on wiki) And the page was still pointing that projected to be launced 2020, Their github was still active i supoose? Check this here https://github.com/libra

Well not really sure for now but looks like Facebook still want to release the libra even there was some problem before, Let's see how it goes.

I have the feeling that it will still push thru. I don't think Zuckerberg will give up this project easily. He already vested some of his resources so I believe he's working behind the preying eyes. If nothing will happen next year, then maybe they really forget this project.

I am not sure the Libra has been launched by Facebook or the delay will be longer than expected. My general perception let me rethink the current situation of Libra and I doubt the project will be successful for the next 2 years. The Facebook team should be professional to find the perfect time for the launch events because timing is more important than the price of the coin. Maybe Zuckerberg will not give a big chance for this project due to the other projects by the Facebook team but who knows what will happen after 5 years? Let's live and see what is the future vision of the Libra project

I'll think that we're going with the rumors that we won't see it anymore. With all of the stoppage and blockage by their own government, there's a lot of issues that they have to face and clear first to the lawmakers.

It was intended to be the same as other centralized payment processors so there's nothing different from what we've known before. If it's about to be launched, we'll see the use case of it applied first to its very own sister platform, FB.

The most important supporters such as Paypal, Visa and others out from this project, I think it's a sign that Libra will never exist. Also as We know, Facebook is often mentioned has an issue in maintaining user privacy. for this reason that many regulators are against the planned launch of Libra. In my opinion, if from the beginning of making this crypto it was for their business interests only, with the privacy flaws that were obtained before, Libra we will never find except Fake coins. And based on the latest information, one of the Libra Project Co-Founder also left the project and back into the Venture Capital organization.

Libra has been discussed a lot in the past but I don't expect it to launch anytime soon as there are a lot of legal hurdles to them right now.
Facebook is based in the US and the United States has only one central bank that can issue money. I think Facebook won't be able to do that without the amendment of the law.

What do you think?

Why the sudden interest?
Libra is now a money pit for Facebook if they still work on it.
Most probably it will be allowed to get live only after ECB and others will launch their own cryptos and at that point it will not be (by far) as profitable as initially estimated.

Facebook has already had another replacement for libra but this project is not actually dead as the developers are still in the development progress. As far as i know there was a wallet that has already created for libra called novi.

Libra will become the next payment system especially for WA. IMO if libra is a payment channel that similar as ripple. Libra is still having the future.

As for the moment? Libra is dead on it's track. Maybe what they need is to reinvent themselves otherwise if they keep their original plans then regulatory bodies and anti-Facebook countries will still be hot on their trail. So there's a lot of problem in the beginning and I doubt that they can resolved or satisfied those regulatory bodies just to get the project rolling again.

During its launch it was the hard topic into discussion for a long. Later things slowly changed after regulatory pressure. As for now the development seems to continue with the wallet and libra token. Also now the calibra wallet which is dedicatedly developed for the purpose of libra token is developed for storing of more other cryptocurrencies.

As there is no regular update, we can expect the token to be something same as the digital payments like PayPal. No more be called a cryptocurrency.

Hey everybody Smiley

It was in 2019 when Facebook announced its own digital currency Libra. Some have been waiting anxiously, some not.
A thorough overview of this crypto can be found here: What is Libra?

There are also rumours that Libra will never see the light of the day. What do you think?

Cheers,
Karl
