because it is not exactly the simplest currency to buy daily needs with, and buying in general is not easy

How does one scan and a few keystrokes on your phone seem hard? What's hard is understanding the whole concept of bitcoin and how it would help people in their daily lives seeing that not all merchants are ready on accepting bitcoin yet.

There are several limitations that prevent many people to access the bitcoin possibilities. I have talked about btc among friends and family and most of them have never heard about it, or other have erroneous concepts about what bitcoin actually is, but most ordinary people always will have problems to understand this technology and how to use it, especially older generations.

Some people calculate all pennies they saved ,they will use bitcoin if they get introduced to it,but the big fact is bitcoin is related to porn and black market, currently bitcoin is being avoid by governments to show off what it is.Someone said about chargeback well bitcoin doesnt allow to that happen,to get scamed, you get with fiat and now with bitcoin is possible as well the difference is that you can trace the funds with bitcoin, and with fiat you wont know where they are.

The process of using digital currency is still pretty much complicated for people who are not too much tech savvy to use it. Either that or to bet on a new and easy teaching method. It is still pretty much like the internet in its beginnings...

I think what stops people the most is that there is no perceived value into switching to bitcoin. Not many online stores take the currency. And even if they did, it adds no benefit to most users.

If the common man or woman wants to buy something off of overstock.com, it is simpler to just use their credit card and then pay it off.

I just figured another thing. When buying online, sure the irreversable transactions are better for merchants but what about the buyers? They have all the guarantee when using Paypal or credit cards, they can chargeback if the item doesnt arrive, if the item is fake etc. With Bitcoin however you cannot do that. So you cant really buy with Bitcoin from stores with zero-to-none reviews hassle free.

Move On !!!!!!

I think that people still don't realize what kind of a big change this Bitcoin technology really is for all of the people out there and the whole world. Even us on this forum are not realizing this. And then we tend to rush and ask these kind of questions.

Everyone should here last few interviews of Andreas Antonopoulos on YouTube. He is talking exactly about this how we are not even aware how big of the revolution Bitcoin really is and how much time it takes for this to take off!

Even though more and more e-commerce sites are accepting it, there is still a large portion that do not or if there is an alternative ends up costing a premium.

i think the main reason that stops people from using bitcoins might be the fact that its anonymous or that its price might fluctuate a lot also the transaction confirmation times might take really long to happen
We may have some problems like that still some world biggest brands like Dell, amazon, paypal and some others already started to accepting Bitcoin, due to its anonymous and banks intervention and they are giving problems for Bitcoin to stuck up down and awareness of bitcoin also has to raise through globally

Access.  For most people, it seems hard to get a few thousand sats and easier to use their credt card to buy coffee.

another thing to think about is that when bitcoin will be more accessible to buy because more adopted, the actual value of it, will still put a big obstacle to acquire many bitcoin and then use it, so is not even an adoption problem is just about being lazy for many
You really can't call that lazy, since people aren't really educated enough on this subject. Now how do you educate one who does not want to be educated?

You can't. If they don't want to learn about something they wont, but for the most part the majority of people don't really have much use for bitcoin either now or in the future. I think the only way they might get interested is if it can be spent many places worldwide then people might have some instead of buying euros or dollars when they go traveling etc or if the price continues to rise. If the money naturally earns interest then that would be a big selling point but if it's fluctuating or falling it isn't very good for bitcoin as a currency.

by forcing it at somepoint, the system will force those people to change, like it happened for many other thing in the past

for example look at the natural step of each tech, for Windows xp user were forced to buy s7 in the end(there are still few of them but they are the minority) the same can be said for those that were still avoiding email

when they realized that was much more convenient they forced themselves or they admitted they were wrong and started to use the new tech, with bitcoin the same thing will happen

Bitcoin is still novel. Most people do not hear about it. They will not use it. It will take several decades to be used widely.

A few points to make:
1. fail to understand the concept of digital currency, how does it have value? It is just like the digital things, like text, video, music saved on our hard drive.
2. cannot accept the volatile price.
2. difficulty to use it. lacking of sufficient knowledge to keep bitcoin secure.

I think there are several things keeping people from using it.

#1-It isn't easy
Despite what many people think Bitcoin is not easy.  Imagine explaining Bitcoin to someone who didn't know anything about technology.  Come back in a couple years after you are done explaining it to them please.

#2-People don't trust it
Some guy invented his own currency and we are just supposed to say, yeah definitely this is awesome.  People don't adapt to change like that and are brought up to question everything

#3-People think it isn't safe
People think they will lose their identity if they use Bitcoin, or will lose all their coins by getting hacked or something like that.

Agree 100%. The first point is actually the most important, no common person (an imagine an average woman...) can manage wallets address and decimals. Of course, nerds will call others noobs and stupid because it's so simple to them but it's atrocious really.

It's also very prone to errors or mistake by the user. Even tech savvy people had lost plenty of BTC over the years. Bitcoin is a wonderful new tech and revolutionary idea but I don't see getting any media attention because it's just too obscure for common people to get familiar with and use on a daily basis.

The link BTC/Terrorism/Drug and so on is one the biggest problem BTC community/ecosystem has right now. If there's so much noise from the mainstream media and people think of BTC in these terms there's no way we will ever reach the average Joe

yeah think this is one of the problem btc has right now people dot know what btc is
and now hearing it that it has been used for terrorism giving btc a bad impact to the
people who already has doubt about it.
