Anyone telling you to buy any altcoin obviously is a holder of that coin, so in my opinion there is no harm in doing your personal research. If you are looking to go long term on any altcoin, I think ETH should be your best bet right now. Note that most altcoins will fail in the long run so be wise when making investment.

Do not look for those small coins which makes you think that it will fulfill your dream of being rich. Work on with altcoins such as Ethereum, Litecoin, XMR, Dash and BNB. Before investing, think of it for so many times so that you can analyze if our suggestions fit your investing style.We can call them traditional, I agree with that, they are here for years. People should invest in well-known projects first, if they don't

Altcoins have a lot of benefits and technology of new coins that are starting to be used more widely in the current world. I believe that altcoins will be a good choice if you choose to invest long-term but should only choose the coins in top 10. Of course, it is also necessary to research carefully before making a decision because altcoin has not been trusted by many investors. 
In general, altcoins are a good hold when they simultaneously go up for months straight, which is often referred to as an altcoin season. As long as that isn't the case, it's probably a better idea to not touch any.

Buy coins with real use cases and you don't have nothing to worry about, go to coinmarketcap and start doing research on top 100 coins and you will find few hidden gem that will surely be big in the future

I am glad that most people are not giving a coin list as a response. Op is obviously newb so let me start by saying that:
- Anyone naming coins to you as a response is just shilling their own bags as people want to prey newcomers.
- You only need to ask that question only if you are already familiar with most projects, and you are willing to study new coins in depth.
- If you were waiting for response and you were going to invest because of it. You shouldn't yet invest to altcoins at all.
- Study top 50 - 100 different coins by yourself without investing in fomo, start with the top marketcap coins, and after reading their whiepapers, you should ask advises for new coins, and those you should study as well by yourself
Giving advice is very difficult even though we know which projects are good or which are bad. Difficult in the sense that sometimes the predictions we give may not provide benefits even though the project is good or vice versa. Therefore, I suggest trusting you with your choice, which is certainly not of random origin but through thoughts.
Indeed, it's much better if we explore things on our own because in that way we can easily identify which projects is the best for us. It's because some of you may think that the project that we have suggested is either good or bad in your own perspective. At least when you have done your own exploration then you can't blame others i you ever made bad decision. I like coins that are in an uptrend because it's usually a short-term profit option for me and some coins like BNB, ATOM, ETH have been rising very well recently. Currently, everyone has the right to choose according to their preferences but need to do a number of studies before investing because risks can occur at any time. The market is not stable yet, so you need to stay calm before making a decision.

Only I could suggest is to choose those coins that have a high market volume and liquidity or try to consider among the top 10 altcoins in the CMC. this some basis that a certain Altcoin shows great profit potential among others but it won't warrant a hundred percent instant profit depending on the flow of market demand. If you have patient inside, you can have it now and wait until price will turn back high. Again, don't push to get all of them, you can just have 3-5 atleast is good enough to play and hold. If you want to buy bitcoin then my advice from now on is don't wait for the opinions of others because I'm sure bitcoin will go up more than the current price.
For other coins you can choose ETH, BNB, TRON as other coins if you want to hold even long no problem because the coin has a long future.
