I seem to have a lot of confirmations that take almost a week or more some times. I used to say "I don't care how long it takes, I'll just do the cheap route and wait the 2-24 hours or whatever" but now waiting means weeks. I hope something is done about this personally.

Currently I have waited 3 hour Undecided

The worst longest time I have waited for 1 confirmation was when I sent from my wallet to a exchange and it took more then 2 weeks to confirm.
I was so nervous and used different btc accelerators and contacted the exchange support.  I learned my lesson after this incident.
Im a kind of person who doesnt really want to wait thats why i do check out mempool.space and when i do saw what are the current fees on specific prioritization then im basing
on the fee that im using but those are subject to change which we know that network could clogged even more which would result into further expensive fees.

As for the question on whats the longest time that ive been waiting for some transaction then it do took 1-2 days. Getting broadcasted into the network and waiting
for 1 confirmation is really a stressful one.  Cheesy

So far, I've waited 4 days for my transaction to get confirmed. Someone sent me that with terribly low transaction fee. I feel like I gonna miss the all time high before I receive the amount. Luckily, the high price last longer than I expected. During high periods, its really hard to make transaction. But still efficient and better than anyway of transaction. Worth it since its Cheaper than banks transaction fee.

The max I have waited was for 5 days for an amount of 0.0021 satoshi. Since nowadays there have been too many issues popping up related to Bitcoin confirmation. I would just like to advise that wait till the weekend if your transaction does not confirm on weekdays.

For me, there have been 2 or 3 confirmation issues since November this year and now I only do transfers on weekends because they get confirmed easily at a cheap price in satoshi.

The wait is simply due to 2 things, one of which is your own choice:

1) Your fee you put into your transactions.

2) How full the mempool is.

When there are lots of transactions (i.e. mempool is always more than a block) then if you skimp on fees, it may take you a long time to get your transaction confirmed.

If you watch the size of blocks, you will see that it has periods of very full and periods of not completely full.
If you put up a transaction when blocks are not completely full, then you are more likely to have it confirmed faster.
If you put up a transaction with low fees when the blocks are always full, then expect to wait.

FYI average block time is 10 minutes - not sure why anyone would bother getting a list of block times over history.
However, the timestamp in a block is NOT when the block was found, it is usually when the work was sent to the miner that found the block some time after that timestamp (usually within 30 seconds) ... but not always.

I've waited nearly a day when I sent without a reasonable fee (or when someone sent to me without a fee).
Just waiting for 3 hours makes us uncertain, especially waiting for 1 week. because waiting is not good and is very hated by people☺

Just few days ago I waited for more than 1 hour for my transaction to go through, what is even surprising is that I use a high gas fee - about $2+ eth for transaction fee so my transaction will be confirmed quickly but unfortunately for me my network went off in the middle of processing, I don't know if this has something to do with the transaction delay but it just took longer than necessary to confirm.

I don't know how long I waited at that time, at least 2-3 days forgot the exact time, it was just an experience in the past because there was a problem something like the transaction was stuck. But as far as I remember I didn't do any additional fees for the transaction finally confirmed, at least I just made a new transaction to solve the problem because I was annoyed with a long wait, after that incident I no longer have the same problem until now.

I have waited for 48hrs, that's been a while when there was a huge confirmation issues. That's when I researched and saw that you could accelerate a Bitcoin transaction using viabtc especially if your transaction fee is small.

Yeah... there are transaction accelerators, and obviously Viabtc is perhaps the most popular one. But I have a feeling that their fee is a bit on the higher side. I used their service only once, and I had to make a payment of around $30. I was quite desperate, as one of my urgent payments was stuck due to low fees. At the same time, other users were paying $5 as the transaction fee in Blockchain and getting instant confirmation. So they are charging manytimes the actual fee. But in the end, we have few other options.

A few weeks ago there was a large size of the memory pool, the day before that I sent a transaction with the optimal size of the transaction fee, and after sending all the values increased and my transaction ended up at the end of the list. Thus, the transaction was stuck in the transaction queue for several weeks, and then I don’t know what happened to it, since I didn’t check its status anymore, because I sent a new one with a higher fee.

Probably 1-3 Hours like yourself

I found this searching around google, some people claim Satoshi waited 130 Hours after mining Genesis to the first Block, however this I beleive is untrue, its more likely he was fixing issues with the code during this time and it did not actually take him 130 hours.

Here's a complete list of the differences between blocks, sorted by difference: http://paste.ubuntu.com/6780012/
And here's a BASH script used to get a list of blocks and a difference between their timestamps (requires jq):
Code:
#!/bin/bash

COUNT=$(bitcoind getblockcount)
PREVTIME=0

for (( i=0; i<=$COUNT; i++ ))
do
    HASH=$(bitcoind getblockhash $i)
    TIME=$(bitcoind getblock $HASH|jq ".time")

    if (( "$i" > 0 )); then
        echo "$(expr $i - 1)-$i     $(expr $TIME - $PREVTIME)"

        #progress display
        if (( $(($i % $(($COUNT / 100)))) == 0)); then
            echo "$i*100/$COUNT"|bc|tr '\n' '%' 1>&2
            echo "" 1>&2
        fi
    fi

    PREVTIME=$TIME
done

Run it like this: bash blocktime.sh|sort -n -k2. Takes a while to run (circa three hours on my system).

The longest was 3 or 4 days back in 2018 when fees exploded. I send a decent fee, but the transaction was heavy, with many inputs, which decreased its priorities. A day later the average fee doubled and my transaction still wasn't confirmed. 2 days later I got worried and discovered a free tx accelerator provided by one of the pools. I had to try many times until my tx got accepted because there was so many requests, you literally had to click 1s after it opened for new requests to make it. Fun times  Roll Eyes

I've waited for weeks but nothing happens and I just realized that I just got scammed for a fake investment website lol. The longest confirmed confirmation that I have is just only a half hour when I deposit a small amount of bitcoin in the yobit platform.

I just want to know what confirmation have you experienced that took for 3 hours? I just curious about it so I could prevent having this in the future.

What coins are you waiting for confirmation, which can be up to 3 hours? According to my experience, it usually takes about 1 to 2 hours at the most for bitcoin transactions, while for Ethereum a maximum of 30 minutes, but that depends on the gas fee used. However, if the transaction is busy on the block it will take up to several days.

IIRC I sent a transaction with 0 fee when such were getting confirmed.

What happened exactly?
Till I sent it, everything was working fine. Suddenly, mempool started to clog and there came an extreme tsunami of transactions which blocked the network till 10 sats/byte area. Then it took itself above to over 50 sats/ byte area and then kept sitting there for a 3 days. I just waited for it to confirm and it confirmed in 5-6 days to be exact. It didn't even get rejected or reversed as the value was so less so it didn't bother much to me. But you should have RBF enabled in your transaction as well as have some change available if your fee level gets under the normal level for getting faster confirmations.

I don't remember exactly, but I believe that my longest wait lasted a week or so. This happened sometime in 2017, when I was moving coins from one of my wallets to another. Since I control both the wallets, I put a very low transaction fee (around 2 Sat/Byte). But the transaction took a long time to get confirmed and eventually I had to wait for around 6-7 days.
