Bitcoin will crash because it's deflationary
"But bitcoin isn't real money" (some of my friends) "I dont understand it so it must be a scam" (From my mom...lol.)
"bitcoin is going nowhere, the government will never let bitcoin be legal" (my brother)
This was all way before the big bitcoin boom, since then all of the people I mentioned above are into coins.

* Bitcoin needs to have blacklists
* I'm safely storing my coins on
* "We'll never see $3 again" (when it was under $3), but you can replace it with $1, $10, $33, $266, $1200.
* Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme
* Bitcoin isn't backed by governments so it will fail. (Gold and silver aren't either).
* "Incoming crash imminent"
* "People can just print more bitcoins, they are on the computer"
And my favorite for now:
* "You can safely use tx id's to verify if a transaction has made it into a block" - MtGox.
There are so many though, it is hard to think of them all...

People will say all kinds of random nonsense about what they don't understand. I'm not sure ignorance is the worst kind of stupidity.
From those that should know better, there's often talk only of Bitcoins only as currency; which rather misses the point of what makes it valuable. 'Cryptocurrency' perhaps describes some alt-coins with no ambitions; however, Bitcoin's ability to provide confidence relative to transactions and act as a public ledger, is the heart of it. Because it's valuable, it can then be used as currency.. ~obviously.
The worst kind of stupidities follow directly from the conservative mindset, looking to put down anything that is change to their current power and wealth. Demonising the enemy is lazy and beyond ignorance. I expect there are then many examples of comments from traditional banksters and politicians worried that Bitcoin might shine a light on the mess they've created, forcing the issue.
