I can't forget this life changing opportunity of mine during March of 2016 when my friend first told about Bitcoin and what is was meant for, at first I didn't believe in Bitcoin Until 2017 when I fully developed much interest and time for Bitcoin and did more research on the internet and YouTube played a major role in the discovery and knowledge about my Bitcoin Journey today.

I somehow discovered Bitcoin (or some subject related to Bitcoin, probably hashing) somehwere around 2014. That's when I registered in this forum. But I think I wasn't looking for Bitcoin by then, so I didn't give it too much importance back then.

I think I was playing with hashcat and eventually came across with this forum due to graphics for hashing passwords and they were also being used for mining. But I was after password cracking I guess, with grphic cards and hashcat. Then, I think I come back to the subject of mining back in 2016 or so and finally I started directly interacting with Bitcoin in 2018. I've been learning as much as possible since there, and HODL'ing mostly!

i found bitcoin by accident on pay per click or pay to click sites or on faucet i don't remember what site it was. what i remember is i do dollar or bitcoin paid tasks by clicking on ads. and it was around 2011-2012 or maybe 2013. I can't remember for sure.

and at the time I didn't know bitcoin would be so expensive. because I probably exchanged a lot of PTC bitcoins at that time into dollars.
my biggest regret is that.

The first time I heard about bitcoin was from a talk show on CNBC TV in 2013, at that time there was a resource person who told me about bitcoin who was successful in mining bitcoin and could become a millionaire because of a significant price spike, since then I've been interested in knowing about bitcoin but started being active trading in 2015.

The first time I got to know bitcoin I saw on the forum in 2015 then I was searching on google, and I tried to ask my friend who has been in the crypto world for a long time, he wanted to guide me and always taught me about investing in bitcoin, he also told me about the risks what I'm facing, even now I'm still consulting with him, every time I make bitcoin transactions and invest bitcoins I always ask my friends.

The first time I heard about Bitcoin, it was a friend of mine that first told me about Bitcoin and I was like how does this work, and how can this be a help to someone's life. So I decided to search and no how it work. Then I go forward to search about Bitcoin online by googling it. It was from there I came to know more about Bitcoin, the history of Bitcoin, how it work, how to mine Bitcoin, how to buy and sell Bitcoin and the price of Bitcoin when I saw the price it shocked me. And through so many researched I came to realize that Bitcoin is so legit.

I first heard the word "bitcoin" back in like in 2020. I saw videos of people talking about bitcoin and making jokes out of it. In 2021, I saw even more videos of bitcoin and this time, people were talking about a lot of money in videos. I decided to search up the price of bitcoin and google said that the price was exactly $50,000. Right now, I was shocked when I searched up the price and it was exactly at $50,000. So in late 2021, I got interested in bitcoin and decided to invest money into one of the popular investment apps called "Robinhood." Here I am now. Recently I started mining and so far i made 14 cents off of bitcoin. So yes, I am new here as you can tell by reading this. Bitcoin is a great cryptocurrency. People can discover bitcoins by listening to finance, video jokes, and other... I've learned bitcoin, how it works, and the history of it.

I found out about it in probably 2016.  Didn't buy until 2017 though.  I mostly held, but traded a lot in 2018 which didn't end too well for me. But luckily Ive always held and ever since around 2018, I've really gotten into the aspect of bitcoin that there's no intermediary.  No banks.  Peer to peer cash transfer, it's really quite remarkable.  I'm old now, and as I've learned over the years, I can say with confidence that it's the fastest growing technology I've ever seen.  Truly incredible what bitcoin is, and what it can become.  I hope it lifts up those in 3rd world countries that don't have access to banks, and I truly believe it is power for the people. It will change everything.

I heard about bitcoin for the first time through friends. It was a hot topic back then as it is now, so I did a little bit of research and thought it was best to wait until I find out everything that I need to know before getting into it. It’s been a while since I’ve started trading crypto and it’s a great journey.
when you don't know about bitcoin, you will join people who don't bitcoin purpose to criticize cryptocurrency but when you are in, is when you will understand why people choose Bitcoin or cryptocurrency investment than manual or offline investment, even the news of bitcoin now is creating way of adoption for it development, today I'm not regretting why i know bitcoin and invested on it.

One thing that kind of drives me crazy is I don't remember exactly when or how I discovered bitcoin.  I know that it was either late 2013 or early 2014, but I can't specifically remember when or how.  I have a few email records from late 2014 which prove that I knew of bitcoin from back then, but they do not provide any clues as to how I discovered it.

So how about you, when and how did you discover bitcoin? What were your initial thoughts?  Did you think negatively of it at first discovery and change your mind, or did you always think it was a great idea?
My discovery of Bitcoin was a big conviction cause I saw my  friends putting their Bitcoin into Ponzi scheme which I thought was the best way to put Bitcoin in trade. I joined them and I lost with big regret cause I know nothing about Bitcoin then. Convincing me go into Bitcoin again was very difficult for me cause I lost big amount of fund before my very own eyes. I learnt from the hard way but I never gave up cause I had to learn about it from the scratch to be prevent another story.

I've known Bitcoin through a work mate last 2017. I was actually hesitant at first and even thought of it as a scam despite all the good things that I've been hearing about it. I'm lucky because my friend didn't stop convincing me to invest in it. I invested a small portion of my salary on it and when I realized that it's really legit, I've added more funds to it. I was able to gain a good profit during 2017's bull run. I'm just grateful that my friend didn't give up on teaching me about basic trading and investing. Now, most of our family members are already into cryptocurrency.
We have this saying " too good be true" maybe your just a believer of that saying, that is why you doubt btc at first. You are literally lucky that your friend didn't introduce you to the wrong investment. You know the pyramid types of investments, where the only way that early investors can earn is by recruiting someone else. You are safe as long as you invest on your own, you control your account and you control all of your assets but if will be more safer if you chose a wallet that lets you hold your private keys and phrases with you.

I notice that many people still didn't care about that but they are already contented as long as they can login and see that their coins are still there.

I got to know about Bitcoin through a family member. He always talks about Bitcoin and was introducing it to all of us in the family and telling us to invest in it. At first I didn’t really like the idea of investing in Bitcoin because I wasn’t so sure whether it was safe or not.

Another thing that really discouraged me a bit was the fact that the creator was anonymous and I even found it difficult to understand what the decentralization was all about, although the family member that introduced it to c everything. And as time goes on I started to understand what it is all about and how it works. And so after some months I decided to invest in it. That was in 2016, and since then I have steadily been investing in Bitcoin.

When I first heard of Bitcoin was in 2020 from a friend. I was a bit skeptical about it because the way it gained credence was something to be wary of after MMM and MBA forex almost got to me. This guy just kept talking about it and I think for a week, it was all he could talk about. I was reluctant to join and forgot about it till late last year when another friend convinced me to join and I've seen it was not really a Ponzi scheme, so I began my journey early this year and TBH, I have no regrets.

I discovered Bitcoin in the summer of 2017. I was on a vacation with my family and I was bored so I started scrolling trough the Facebook newsfeed. I stumbled upon a Facebook group where I saw the name of one of my faculty teachers. He has relatively unique name so it caught my eye. I joined and pretty quickly I registered here on the forum where I started reading and learning about Bitcoin and crypto in general. I must say that it was exiting to see messages from satoshi and other early adopters.
That means you enjoyed ATH 2017 right? You're lucky because I'm a user who can't enjoy ATH 2017 even though when I signed up for an account the bitcoin price was still quite expensive for me to have.

I read newspapers and some other online media and I found bitcoin being talked about even though some of my friends have been here for bitcoin since mid 2015. I really didn't realize that until one day they admitted they had been here for a long time and even had hundreds of bitcoin. This is my 4th year on the forum, I'm really enjoying it now and I'm lucky during that time I'm enjoying some ATH.

Yeah, I somewhat enjoyed the 2017. ATH. I didn't bought Bitcoin right away in the summer because I didn't know anything about it. First real money that I have earned came from airdrops that were really popular back then here in this forum. Only after I earned my first "real" money by selling those airdrops I bought Bitcoin. Back then everyone was telling me to sell all my crypto when the price started rising. But I sold about 80% at the beginning of 2018. like I knew that it was the peak of that bull run.

I do remember the first day when I learned about Bitcoin but it's not in a good way, back in the day my cousin referred me to the HYIP program where you will double your money and earn every day by investing in it. But apparently, it become a scam which gets me annoyed and lose a lot of money. And, months passed I read and watch about Bitcoin how it really works.

The good thing is that I learned a lot those days and promise myself not to join this kind of scheme and focus on trading.

Hey as someone who works in finance and teaches people about investing for a living I get it and understand. People taking advantage of others financially is actually how I chose my career, I wanted to fight back. I always tell my clients you live and learn, as long as you learn it’s alright. It’s when you make the mistake twice and don’t seek the advice of a legit professional that you have a serious problem on your hands lol.  Key piece of advice, there’s no such thing as a guarantee in finance, there’s actually quite a few very strict finance laws around saying as much.
