I agree, $5000 is quite high for Bitcoins now due to the series of correction it is experiencing this recent days. Though I still believe that bitcoin will one day reach a $5000 price per piece due to the coming good news about bitcoin. I have not found any reason for bitcoin to go down in price except correction so I believe that Bitcoin will be going uptrend after this correction.

We have to wait for next bubble for us to see $5000 and high transaction fees are one of the reasons behind the drawback and why bitcoin has slowed down, once we have fast btc transfers, demand and price should skyrocket

Bitcoin to reach $5000 is not that easy, though we've been continuously making a good number of adoption and businesses that accept bitcoin. I don't have an accurate prediction about the price expected. I believe could happen by the end of the year 2018.

There's one thing that I'm sure of, this is not going to be an easy achievement for bitcoin, it may not be fast.

But just like the saying, slowly but surely. We need to break first the barrier of $3k or should I say bitcoin does.

I'm good to see the price first at $3,000 - $3,500 before speculating at $5k.

well i do not think that the price of bitcoin will reach to 5k $ in this year or next year, yes it is right the price of bitcoin is now a good amount but reaching 5k $ is a very big jump and it is only possible when some more countries legalize bitcoin then it can be possible otherwise we will have to wait for this price for two or more years.

I don't think we need too much to reach that amount what we need, is to get segwit approved as soon as possible, if this happens then we are going to see a spectacular increase in price in just a few months, it is difficult but I think it is going to happen eventually.

Yes you are right reaching $5,000 this year is not possible because it is a very huge amount and now the price of Bitcoin is about 2200 dollars and I think the price of bitcoin in this year will reach $3,000 and I think reaching $5,000 will happen after 2 or 3 years, this year we need to wait for 3000 dollars of Bitcoin price.

yes i agree with you that we can reach to the 5000$ at the end of 2017. in fact the current selling is just a routine and some people who may have bought bitcoin at a low price may be below 1200$ they may be welling to sell bitcoin, but over all people are still confident about the price of bitcoin and still want to buy or hold their bitcoin and not going to sell it right now. they still want to wait for the high price and therefore not going to sell their bitcoin.

Market price has been fluctuating a lot today and at one point i thought we shall drop out of the 2000 dollar range but looks like we slowly recovering maybe panic buyers or new buyers getting on board and $5000 is starting to drag away from our sight maybe this year is not the time we get to see it but I have a good feeling 2018 something special should happen.

I see no reason for the price to rise to $ 5,000 by the end of this year. Many want this, but one desire is very small, there must still exist objective reasons. The maximum that we can see this year is 3500-4000 dollars

Let us wait for Bitcoin to reach 4500 before thinking the $5000 aim. At the current rate bitcoin price is only 40% of the OP's question on when will BTC be at $5000. There is no definite time or date because we cannot precisely tell what will happen in the future. But with the feature of Bitcoin deflation, probably bitcoin will break $5000 after the next halving.
