I love the looks i get when i try to explain crypto to a non tech person! How do you guys deal with situations like these?
The average person will have a hard time processing cryptocurrency, unless they possess a basic understanding of investing and the stock marketing. It's not an easy craft to pick up on, but it's a priceless skill to have if you can. I'm not really good with creating analogies on the spot, but in order to explain crypto ro a person, so that there is a general understanding of its utility, you have to break it down to them, doing so in a manner or level they can relate to and understand.
Metaphor is the best way teach because it uses mental visualization of symbols.
True, bitcoin is extremely easy to use but it is something very complex to explain, the person trying to learn more about bitcoin needs to know about new technology, cryptography, economics, the history of money, politics and probably some other topics that I'm forgetting, if the person that you're trying to explain does not know at least something about those topics they are not going to understand your explanation.

Its quite hard but just tell them the basics. Mostly I relate it to forex exchange. Buy at low price and sell it at higher price. Its a digital money so basically there is no physical money. You just have to convert it to local currency to make use of it to buy goods and source of payment.

Even the some of people who say ''tech person'' theirselves sometimes can not understand that technology. So, I don't try to tell blockchain technology if I think they do not have the potential to understand.

its actually not that hard to explain

Block chain -open ledger of all transactions on said network( each person gets a copy when they download a wallet, each transaction must be confirmed, by others in the network, to go through)

currencies- monetized incentive for maintaining said Block chain network via mining, staking or masternode

mining -essentially you're performing maintenance checks and turn the transaction info into blocks to be sorted on the chain

staking -like a saving account (adds interest) as long as you are connected to the network( insuring network connectivity)

masternodes- always connected to the network verifying transactions for the miners to add to the network block chain

if they are not good with tech terms use business terms(most people understand them)

In general, I do not talk about the crypto currency to people who are not interested in this, and who himself asks those who tell me, and therefore they quickly start to understand and be shocked by the opportunities and potential  Cheesy

The Fourth Generation of Blockchain in DeFi
I have an absolutely humanitarian mind. Calculations are really painful for me:)  but I understand the whole idea of crypto and I even trade.  So nothing is impossible,  all you need is a desire to learn smth new.

A totally expected answer from users who don't get this crypto, I think crypto currency is still undervalued by people and they think it as a Ponzi Scheme due to its decentralized system. Also, many users want a guarantee for their money like we have bank mangers when we deposit money in banks and so on but in crypto there is nothing like this, hence people struggle to trust this system and fear getting hacked. But once they totally understand the concept they really love it.

I'm sure that you do not have to try to do this, because today it becomes very difficult, many people just do not understand how they eventually live without a standard understanding of the situation, I think that in general, do not try to explain something either because people still do not will understand.

It's nothing special. To me, I don't feel any special. Cause I actually feel pity for them cause the are really missing out. Most people have the opportunity to learn coding and other technical stuffs, while the others may not have the  opportunities, so it's best to not have any special feeling about it and help out in any way you can.

That is what they do not get, this is going to be the new normal in a generation or two, they probably said the same about the Internet, can you imagine working in a business that used the Internet back in the 80s? It is likely that those very same people thought that the Internet was not going to prosper and that you needed to find a real job and now look at us we cannot be disconnected of the Internet for five minutes before freaking out.

I often explain about  crypto to my friend, whom don't have any knowledge about crypto, when they asked me about what I'm doing to earn money after graduated Smiley).

Of course I know that they can understand everything that I said, but some of them become interested in crypto and now they're really professional traders Smiley).

But sometime, I don't want to explain about crypto to other people cause they asked me that crypto is a scam thing so why I keep working on it although I already knew it's scam. LOL

I am fed up explaining, they all say it's a pyramid and have no clue what they talk about, but at the same time trying to be very clever, as they truly believe what TV news, have told them (in my country we have news as a warning and to stay out of this highly volatile market). Of course it is dangerous and risky investments, but everyone whom I know got everything all wrong and laughing at me, saying I am going to lose everything one day! I just don't bother anymore and gave up on them explaining, the only way to proof them, that they were wrong is to get rich and one day I certainly believe in my strength of my brain! So my advise, don't waste your time on explaining to them
This is very common among people that do not really form their own opinions but just repeat what they hear or see on television, many people thought the same when they knew that I had some bitcoin, they thought that I was very dumb and after the price skyrocketed and then crash it they told me that bitcoin was a scam despite the fact that the price was a lot higher than the year before and that even with the current crash I still have significant profits.

If you want him or her to understand what you are saying about cryptos, explain it using simple trading terms. It's normal for every beginner to feel lost initially but as time goes on with learning, it becomes easier to comprehend.

Many my friends asked about my job and i answered crypto trading and bounty program and they never heard about that kind of job, they also never heard about Bitcoin, so to explain it by more easy to understand i just say crypto trading is similar buy and sell gold but in the form of digital and the price also sameting like gold depend on the supply and demand. Many people around me dont know about cryptocurrencies and they think hard to understand it.

Explaining crypto to a person with no or little background in technology is a great challenge considering that crypto is linked with technology.  I experience this when I explained crypto to my mother (she do not even know how to use computer or android phones).  The first step I did, I  explained the concept of money and how people recognize it as a valuable medium of a transaction even the truth is it does not have intrinsic value and it is mere paper with a picture.  Then, I explained the process of banking where people exchange their money for just a mere digital number.  Afterward, I compare a bank to cryptocurrency while I compared trading tokens to forex.  I know she might not understand everything about cryptocurrency but at least she already has an idea about it and I am happy that she supports my engagement in cryptocurrency.

You don't necessarily need to be technical when explaining cryptos to people. You can just discuss it simply. I am not a technical person as well because I haven't mastered analyzing graphs entirely just yet but I do understand crypto. People would understand crypto as an investment and I usually use gold or stocks as an example, only that in the crypto market, crypto currencies are people's asset and investments. They usually get it upon comparing it so no more further explaining to do unless they want to go deeper. If they are really interested on learning the technical side of it, they can learn it themselves.
