Well, in this market, I think you can buy a lot of things with the top crypto currency, Ethereum , eos , iota , ada, and with little known crypto currency
Hopefully $500 is some percentage of your overall investment portfolio and not 100% of what you have in total to invest. If you had $500 total I would put $200 or $300 into the stock market and then maybe a $100 or so into a bond or certificate of deposit and then whatever is left over put into something like Cardano or Ethereum. Ethereum is definitely on sale right now but no telling how much further it and other big coins like bitcoin may slide. You might just wait and watch to see what the crypto markets do before sinking in money here.
I will suggest to you while you wait, take your time, evaluate the situation. Your $ 500 while hold and do not put it anywhere. That's when the market gets stronger green then forward.

I think you can buy ethereum. With $500, you can buy a very good amount of ethereum now. It is under $400 now, and I think it can give a great profit in the next few months.
I think much better to invest for now ethereum because ethereum for now is low price buy and hold and wait to comeback a true price.
With your funds of $500 still you have option to invest on the best crypto these days. Although price are down invest or buy only on what you can afford. Also diversify into best investment like btc and eth since these days price are still low.
the best investment is buying on Bitcoin and holding it for the long term. because if you invest in an altcoin it's very risky, the altcoin price is 2x more volatile than bitcoin. but also has a large level of profit from bitcoin. if you don't have fear loss of your capital, altcoins like Etherum, LTC, WAVES, XRP, STR, are good for long-term investments.
