Although traditional gambling was reducing in real life, I am sure that there are people who will still play traditional gambling because they want to meet the real opposite. Traditional gambling will still get a place for a gambler who wants to play the game. What didn't really improved in 30 years? 30 years ago the movies and tv shows were done with much worse equipment and even the scripts were worse because they were restricted with the technology they had at the time whereas people are making insane type of movies now because technology allows it. On the other hand medicine, cars (self driving AI car that runs on electricity is just a future thing we have right now) and many many things have improved in 30 years.

What were you thinking, while everything in the world improving like crazy, gambling and casinos would stay the same? Of course they changed as well, I am sure 30 years ago the biggest and greatest casinos would be dwarves compared to big casinos today. Look at venetian macao, it is 11k square foot, unlike anything we have ever seen. Just like the gap between rich and poor grew, the gap between big and small casinos grew as well, that is all.

Gambling is not an infection not a disease, it is something that you play in order to entertain yourself.

I said it but most of the people wanted to gamble to earn money, it is really bad. I do love gambling but don't get me wrong though, I love it because it is fun, and yes I also hope deep inside me that I can win a lot of money but there is this part of me that know the reality, that is the Ego for you, well that is a reference to Sigmund Freud's thing, if you get it.

Not much has developed in gambling apart from shifting the physical casinos to online casinos. Also with the use of crypto currency, it has given opportunity for gamblers to gamble with plenty of altcoins of their choice. Gambling is easily accessible now on laptop or even smart phones and the age restriction on gambling can no longer be imposed because of these technologies.

Traditional casinos have been around a long time before online casinos appeared. Of course it already has more fans.
