It is the gift and curse of online gambling.  We all have much easier access to games but you miss the social interaction of going to a real life casino.  Also people are getting paid less these days so they don't have as much money to spend on going out and buying expensive drinks and paying for shows.
I don't know what kind of social interactions you are looking for in casino but I can say that most people who go in casinos aren't someone you wish to make a friend. Situation is bad, near casinos there are pawnshops, they go here and sell all kind of things to just get money and gamble. Here people who gamble online are less likely becoming addicted to it but the bad side is that teens can easily do sport bets online.

Technology innovates everything and gambling is one of it. There's still people who will keep on looking to the typical activity with gambling through those places that you've been with.

But to the new generation of gamblers, standards and practices are changing. It's better to stay at home and gamble online, you are at your own convenient place, enjoy gambling and if you're main goal is to make money, then you have chance.
The only thing that is constant is changes if we don't change where would be at right now? Though there are a lot of sacrifices for everyone to change and gamblers are not an exception, no one. Technology might change the way you used to play poker in the casino before but you chose to stay home for your convenience. Without further ado, once a gambler he's always a gambler. Cool

30 years ago when I became old enough to be allowed into gambling
establishments I played all sorts of games, poker, 21, poker machines,
one arm bandits. I remember the atmosphere in the "clubs", the sound
if the machines, the multicoloured lights, the sound of coins being
paid out, the cigarette smoke, the sticky carpet, the chat, the laughter
and the giving out as people went bust.

Today its a different scene or there is no scene. I visited a club last
night while out socialising and it was dead to the point where I wonder
how the club is able to stay open.

Since the creation of smartphones gambling is now 24/7, 365 days a year
Its so easy and convenient anyone can get involved and everyone is
targeted.
The cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology has really help in gambling industry and I believe that it is good we have a system that is decentralized.  Many people may not like to gamble openenly but we can see that people can now hide under the blockchain technology and gamble.

I think we are in a critical stage to be come back to the normal position to achieve the old value of Bitcoin and it will take some more than long time it will be not easy things to be a previous valuable Bitcoin but it will be possible when we follow lots of tricks to do and make more time to invest sale and exchange then only it will be possible.

The huge difference between brick and mortar and online casinos is that the chance to get scammed is 1000 times higher in online casinos!

Yap, this is show us and conclude that mostly every business is moving to 'online business'. And been that gambling may have this little stigmatisation by some people for being 'lazy' or so when you are seen gambling,  online makes it more secured and cozy for players with less people to judge you. Though, I still doubt if city like Las Vegas will go dead also..

Through the years not only technology and other stuff are evolving, so does gambling and how everything works, you might be watching some James Bond movies back then and gambling there is indeed dangerous and somewhat realistic but half sarcastic if you'd look at the gun fights and everything in a movie, but as what I can see right now, the whole gambling scheme has absolutely changed, online gambling is now a big thing and include casinos which are also a big influence, not saying its a bad thing nor a good thing, somewhat neutral per say.

I guess gambling needs to evolved as well. I have the same experienced with you, Actually I still have some old tokens in my collection which I got from the old casino I used to play. Yes they are still open but competition today in our country its very tough and I think the last time I step on that casino was like 10 years ago. Now, I frequent casino which is modern no more tokens or the sound of money coming out of the slot machines, and having this plastic placeholders of tokens and going to the counter, all proud of your big winnings. Now everything is paid through checks or tickets or whatever tell call it today.
