OP, off topic question. But what makes you believe that Ethereum is the best altcoin to invest in? Is market cap the only way for you to "measure" how good a cryptocurrency is?

There are different coins for trading and investing,if you are going to invest on a coin which means holding it in long term then buy a coin with stable price chart like bitcoin,ethereum,litecoin and monero.Or if you want to trade you have to combine the best coins as well as the trading coins you can find them on the coinmarket cap. Dash, NEM, XMR and XLM already long time ago in the market and the price was give huge return for swing trader, These coins has big volume and market cap, so will be any chance for the price going up multiple times. All these coins also tradeable in many exchanges so will be many trader has opportunity to trade it and get liquidity price. I will invest in any of the falcons that are in the top except the ones that were not there in the last 6 months that way you avoid buying the coins that have pumped recently and you avoid overpaying for it before it corrects, once that happens you can buy them for a good price.
If you want to invest something in Altcoins, I think can only suggest you some popular Altcoins besides Ethereum. For example like, Dash, Zcash, Litecoin, and so on. That is because those popular Altcoins already prove us that they can guarantee our profit. Unlike some new Altcoins and ICO that still uncertain. I do not want people to be fooled again by similar SCAM program like BitConnect. I think in this new age and era, you are fool if you still get lose by some PONZI scam program that is similar to Bitconnect. If you want to do long-term invest, then I will suggest Litecoin is good for you. But if you want short term invest, maybe others. You will find that different people invest in different altcoins for different reasons. If you ask a sufficiently large number of them, you will end up with a huge number of potential altcoins to invest in. I see this question being ask a lot, but to no avail. You are on your own here.

I will invest in any of the falcons that are in the top except the ones that were not there in the last 6 months that way you avoid buying the coins that have pumped recently and you avoid overpaying for it before it corrects, once that happens you can buy them for a good price. Ripple, IOTA, BLUE are very good to invest for long term. But, for short time, i prefer using arbitrage method for trading. It was very happy to get profit
I like to learn about arbitrage trading , isn't it very risky? How do you do?

I hold ETC, Stratis , waves and ETH for long term. LBC,AMP, Sia, ZRX for short term

know not only Bitcoin and Ethereum rule over all cryptocurrency. Because ripple is reach the 2 position in market capitalisation. If you want to trade altcoins you should choose monero and some other good coins. Because these three coins are reach one position it will not raise continuously. But other altcoins are raise in continuously or fall in market. We should easily analyse the best coin to trading. here are some interesting alts that i hold(i've made small investments):
Waves - has decentralized exchange. in future they'll be implementing smart contracts and many other stuffs(check their roadmap). it's blockchain/transaction is fastest!
SONM - fog supercomputer!
Wings - this alts/token has real use, ICO evaluation. this token can be used to forecast on various ICO on wings platform and users get rewarded for correctly/accurately forecasting. around $5 millions in rewards have been distributed to all forecasters(if i'm not wrong!).

Cardano, tron, but remember ripple also has a lot of market dominance in the crypto. How it has passed ethereum and ripple sit on the second largest crypto currency in this time. Just invest in the platform that tries to develop the blockchain infrastructure because it will have needed by a lot of developers in the future.
