I use Windows 7 x 64 . only Windows, only hardcore 
I use windows 8 for my laptop and linux for playing games.
I use Windows 7 Pro and it is working fine for me.
Ubuntu 14.04 in the servers, Ubuntu 15.04 (newest one) in the laptop, Win7 in the desktop (because most Korean government-related site and banking sites require ActiveX...oh, nowadays .EXE files to encrypt things.)
Debian 8 on all home PC's, Android/Arch on the ARM devices.

I tried windows 8 again to see if it got any better......no it hasn't what a pile of rubbish its so bad
It's not too bad if you add a start button to it with one of the numerous pieces of third party software designed to restore it.
I tried windows 10 tech preview, seems to fix many issues, hell of a lot better than 8 anyhow.

i prefer windows 7 because interface.
