This question actually depends on the country on which sport they support. To give you a specific example, the Philippines is leaning towards the sport basketball and boxing, as compared to other countries who gamble more on football or any other sport beside the ones I mentioned.

That is usually the case in PH because we are more of basketball enthusiast here. Football is not that hype as we all know that these sports can't just be played at the backyards or streets. Even with the popularity of Azkals PH in Asian tournament, it didn't really give much of a boost in terms of football popularity in PH.

You’re right. It seem to be that PH has the finest or more on in sports of basketball that’s why it’s my first guess that slipped in my mind. Me in myself I don’t know that football has the most popular sports in the world this thread just happen to help me and make myself to do research on it.
One also reason why football soccer isn’t popular in PH is lacking of soccer field to played with. Like what you’ve just said we can’t play football (soccer) in the backyards or streets. So yeah, atleast I know now what’s the most popular sports.
I have long known that soccer has the most supporters, it also has more players compared to other betting games and didn’t need the thread to make me understand.

I'm just wondering, on what sport does have much popularity when it comes to betting. For I have seen even the last pages of this section has sports gambling topics that was killed long time ago and only few remains and actively running. So, I came to observe on which sport do they like the most, or perhaps which sports does have a most number of supporters here and their reason why they love it the most?
Besides, no one can even predict what will be the outcome, it sure is a Lucky guess (I think).

It's all the same i think. Well for the three top vote getters that is. A gambler bets on anything that they can place a bet on. Soccer is a favorite sport among the three but when it comes to gambling, basketball and boxing isn't far behind. You select 1 winner between two opposing sides. And i prefer that rather than watching dumbly on dice.

The stats are based on the amount of money circulates in gambling on those sports.
Boxing is not included because matches are not regular. In a span of a year, I think only 3-5 big events happen or maybe even lower than 3. That's why even one event is sold out and gained lots of revenue, it can't match the whole amount involves in soccer or other sports.
So that is why boxing is not included in that list, thank you for giving the info to me.
But still, boxing can be a choice for gamblers to place the bets. Maybe boxing needs to find the other big player like Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, or Muhammed Ali to make boxing popular again. I remember in the old-time, when Mike Tyson matches, in my house, we watched the events and will be happy to see Tyson win.

People unanimously vote for soccer for obvious, there are billions of people in this sports and it's the world's most popular sports, and there are a lot of betting sites for soccer, the next one is boxing it's not really that very popular but there are so many gamblers are very much into betting boxing.
Soccer is even gaining popularity in America as baseball is starting to die. Football / soccer truly is the global sport.
Its amazing how many fans Cricket has, this has to be related to the British empire even though its been gone for most of the last hundred years its left behind a heck of a legacy in cultural artifacts left behind like this. Its a good thing, it brings together various countries that might not be on the best of terms otherwise and I'd rather see competition on the playing field then political rhetoric and strife.

Apparently, football has the most gambling supporters.
This stems from the fact that there are so many games almost every day and so many different betting opportunities.
As long as online gambling casinos became popular the gamblers segment increased significantly.

Football and Cricket being the most famous sports have not been added in the list of options. I mostly follow only cricket and I am aware of how many bets are placed on the games and especially the WC matches. In my country, cricket has another level of crazy fans while boxing is the next craze here. I did not know people bet on basketball games as well.

The poll result just says what is really popular around the world. Basketball ofcourse would be one of it because its mechanics is easy to understand and its not difficult to play. Soccer on the other hand is very popular on western countries if I'm not mistaken especially Brazil. Those are fun and enjoying to watch making it at the top sports in gambling industry.
I think we could predict where the basketball fans could be much and I think from the US but talking about soccer, it is not only Brazil that likes soccer. It depends on the area or country like for example in our place the common sports that has a lot of gambling supporters are Basketball and Boxing, whenever there's a boxing match or if there's a new seasons for NBA then my co workers or even my friends bet on their favorite teams. I guess these are the games that is very popular to bet on in our country.
Tennis and Soccer on the other hand, is not that popular in our area, though a few watches it but it is not a common game where they bet on unlike basketball and boxing, they prefer just watching soccer and tennis instead of betting on them.

Soccer might be only in the U.S but football is basically everywhere in the world. Though I am not against sports betting, but I never enjoy this thing too. IMHO the sports betting lead to match-fixing which will ruin the game. But many people enjoy sport-betting just for fun too.

As a football fan, it’s obvious to me that football is a leader in betting. At the same time, football is a leader not only in Europe but throughout the world.
