i guess this will depend from one country to another because on some countries they do have thier own favorite sports game . in the usa and other foreign countries i always see that they love baseball . on brazil and related countries to this they love soccer or football . one one country they only love cricket . on local countries they love basketball but i think basketball is the most popular game or sports of them all since almost all country and people know it .

In addition to what others have said, indeed soccer has the most popularity among other sports, many of my country men have loved sport and this has been what we do and watch almost everyday till now. Even at the sensor level, we have seen that the crowned pulled by soccer is no near to any other game or sport in the universe.

I voted Basketball and Soccer, probably these sports are the most well known around the world and these games are attained global appeal because of these game. All sportsbook sites contain different sports game but these two will always there in sports betting site. Upon the popularity of these games, people will decide to bet on every match. But the reply above was right, that people will choose to bet if the sports game is very well known to their place.

If we're talking about the whole world, this would certainly be boxing, although events on that sport rarely happens so viewership alone does not help in the statistics of the match since they are a rare feat (and most of the time, only the main event is being watched.) But in terms of gambling supporters, this certainly would be football/soccer knowing that there are loads of events to choose from and most teams are considered/deemed as superteams even if they lose to the weakest club in the game. Also, there are loads of lines for bets as well, so it's really a no-brainer that gamblers would choose the said sport knowing that they could further minimize the risk of losing and increase their odds of winning.

Yeah, this depends per country but most sportsbook offers different sports and most of the lines available are those sports who are very popular all over the world as that way they will be able to gain a lot of gamblers.

This is kinda like an easy quesion and I think all will agree that soccer has the most gambling supporters all over the world.The reason is simple and is anytime like a big event like the World Cup you can see the highest numbers of supporters and fans and many of them are gamblers.

It has to be Football/Soccer as it's a universal language. Every country has a league citizens can bet on. The other sport don't have much audience in other countries. Basketball is popular to USA, cricket is popular in Asia nation, track/marathon event to Jamaicans/Africans etc but soccer isn't tied to any country or nation. Also judging from the promotion of sportbooks, the vote still has to go to soccer.

Soccer is not popular here in our country, but boxing is, so I believe boxing has many gamblers here in our country especially if there are big fights that are going to happen, another popular sport here in our country is basketball, but since we have the phenomenal Pacquiao boxing is now considered a popular sport here.

Maybe because of were, I came from, soccer is the most support in gambling. I don't even gamble or bet in another sport but football and that is because I hardly support other sport or watch them. Football(Soccer) is actually huge where I live. Most betting centers always have long queues and large screens for football fans. But it looks like the betting centers are gradually getting empty. Maybe people have moved to the online betting because the betting companies encourage them more with their adverts

Football/Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. There is no part of the world that doesn't have soccer. That means that there are more soccer fans than fans of any other sport in the world. Taking into account all the marketing and shirt sponsors advertising gambling worldwide I pretty sure that football is the sport most people gamble on.

Football/Soccer is the biggest sport by far on sportsbooks because as the others have said there's so many leagues from different countries. When one regular season is finished there's another regular season starting on another country plus relegation, promotion and playoff matches if football would be your main sport you'll probably never run out of matches to bet on because of how most of them are offered by sportsbooks.
Even though football is the most gambled sport I still prefer the popular sports from USA because of how many people have discussion between these leagues once it starts.

I like to gamble in basketball though, it's also popular in the world but I know its not the most popular game.

I'm just wondering, on what sport does have much popularity when it comes to betting. For I have seen even the last pages of this section has sports gambling topics that was killed long time ago and only few remains and actively running. So, I came to observe on which sport do they like the most, or perhaps which sports does have a most number of supporters here and their reason why they love it the most?
Besides, no one can even predict what will be the outcome, it sure is a Lucky guess (I think).
P.S. I have never been into sports betting, because for I'm not enjoying the thing,... I'd rather play dice than just watching them play for my money. But for me I just prefer Basketball(NBA).

In terms of sports gambling, I think soccer is the most popular sport in the world. Other sports, such as basketball, tennis, etc are only popular in certain regions and groups. Soccer is so popular because there are many regular events being held world wide and has been going on for a long time.

I think you should add more options to vote on. but for me I think soccer is the most popular sport to bet on since it has
the most popular tournaments(FIFA, UEFA etc...) in the world which fans and non fan of the sport bet on. then basketball
would be second on the list since FIBA is wildly popular worldwide but I think cricket is also a contender for the second place.

I have voted for Soccer(Football) and Boxing because those are people bet the most on where I live. But I understand that it's BasketBall, American football and Baseball in America, and probably in other countries more people bet on other sports. I've seen so many sites accepting bets on Cricket so that I think this sport should be added to the list. I think it's possible that more people around the world bet on Cricket rather than on Tennis.

This one is easy. Soccer all the way. I have been betting on different sportsbooks for quite sometime now and I always observe more lines for Soccer when compared to any other sport almost always.
Soccer takes the cake in terms of popularity too followed by Cricket which is the 2nd most popular sport in the world. Betting wise, I tend to do better by betting on Soccer matches(So many types of bets available) when compared to other sports.

Football. Most fan base usually has the most bettors.
Some European & South American fellows might feel offended with calling football as soccer. if I am not mistaken, it's only in the US where they really call it soccer because they have their american football.

This is an interesting topic that I have never thought of until now. It's amazing on how many people would support something that they love. I did a little research just like the other people above me and found out that Football is still the top. I would think that football games are more exposed compared to other sports like boxing. Maybe that's why there are more people supporting it.
P.S. If I could add, maybe another thread would focus on what event are you most likely to bet on. Like the FIFA World Cup or the Super Bowl. Something similar like that. They are on this top list with the most popular betting events [1]. This was updated on February 2019, so it is quite recent.
